The Temptalia community is enthusiastic, honest, and diverse, so crowd-sourcing top picks from our readers is an excellent way to keep track of and organize the answers from our weekly “Hit List” post, which has typically asked for readers favorite [fill-in-the-blank].  Instead of scanning through comments, everyone’s answer(s) get saved to the Recommendations Database along with pertinent information like skin tone or skin type (as applicable).

We invite you to share your own recommendations, and if you think you might be making recommendations often, consider registering and filling out your profile as the form will pre-fill with your profile information for you each time!

Thank you for taking the time to add your recommendations to our database! 🙂

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’ve added two of my faves: Patrick Ta Major Glow Lip Shine and Lancôme L’Absolu Lacquer.

Patrick Ta Lip Gloss (have it in Is She Younger Than Me? ) is the best formula I’ve come across for a lip gloss that adds shine and dimension without adding much color, and it really has no stickiness at all. Compared to the Fenty Beauty lip gloss in Fu$$y, the shade that I have does not add a base color to the lips, but it provides an gorgeous shine with specks of color. I’m not a lip gloss girl, but I might go for a second shade as well., “She’s an Influencer”.

Lacôme L’Absolu Lacquer (315 Energy Shot) is a great formula. It is a perfect mixture between lip oil, lip gloss and liquid lipstick. The particular shade that I have is pigmented. You can add one layer for a subtle effect, or a second or third for an intense effect. What I find amazing, is the intense shine that is maintained as the time passes. While it transfers , it keeps that shine, and the color fades beautifully, leaving a stain behind. I have not tried other shades, but I’m very pleased with the one I have.

I know it’s not the technically a “gloss”, but I’ve been wearing the L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine lippies constantly for the past few weeks. I love the hint of color, the feel of a balm, and the shine of a gloss. They’re just so easy to wear for work, and I can keep it in my apron, and duck in a corner to reapply if necessary, without a mirror. I have Dazzling Doe, Glossy Fawn, & Varnished Rosewood, plus 2 from a random LE release, but I want to grab a few of the more “colorful” shades. As long as L’Oreal keeps these around, I may never go back to a “traditional” gloss again!

It’s my favorite! I just picked up Enamel Red & Sparkling Rose today (BOGO1/2 sale). I can’t believe I slept on these for so long. I keep them in my bag along with all my other “work* accessories & makeup, since I have to keep things “minimal”.

I love MAC Lipglass! I really enjoy using them.
Of all the others I like NARS Lip Gloss the best. Some of the others I’ve not had the fortune to try.
I generally prefer lipsticks, but there are days when I crave a shimmery gloss.
On a sidenote, I moved not all that long ago (20 or so months ago), packing all my makeup in smaller boxes, and I was sure I had looked in all of the boxes. Three days ago I was searching for spóngerollers to give my hair a bit of a curl, I couldn’t find them, but found a box filled with lip glosses. I had just a few days before tried to organize my lip products, now I have to redo it, and have fun opening, looking, smelling and give some of the glosses a little swatch.
After I’m done, I might count the glosses and be a little bit ashamed of how much makeup I have collected.

I don’t have a lot of lipgloss experience, but I like the UD Hi-Fi Shine glosses a lot. I have the shades Backtalk and Beso. Also, I just bought NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Angel Food Cake and absolutely love it. The color is perfect and the gloss makes my wrinkly lips look so much smoother.
