Becca Topaz x Gilt, Amethyst x Geode, Pearl x Gold Liquid Crystal Glow Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Topaz x Gilt
Becca Topaz x Gilt Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a soft, medium taupe brown with subtle, warm undertones and multi-colored pearl (mostly violet, teal, and gold). It had semi-sheer pigmentation that applied evenly with a smooth, lightweight texture that just had a touch of tackiness to it. The gloss spread easily on my lips and sat well on them. It lasted for three hours and was hydrating.
Becca describes the formula as a “mix of unique pearls blended together to create a multi-dimensional finish” with “nourishing ingredients that leave lips lavishly soft and smooth” and a “luxurious coconut and vanilla scent.” They can be worn alone or applied on top of other lip colors for shine/shimmer, but the brand did not seem to make any more specific claims with respect to pigmentation–given that they are supposed to be worn on top of products but could be worn alone, I am expecting semi-sheer to medium coverage.
In general, the formula is more like a sheer to semi-sheer gloss with moderate pearl, sometimes with more nuance and other times was more like a traditional, shimmery gloss. The formula was lightweight, thin, lightly tacky, and comfortable to wear but only lasted two to three hours. For most of the shades, I detected the scent throughout the wear but only tasted soapiness with one (Topaz x Gilt). The glosses were less shifting in their shimmer/pearl as they were just sparkly and mirror-like in shine.

Amethyst x Geode
Becca Amethyst x GeodeLiquid Crystal Glow Gloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a very light pink base with flecks of copper sparkle and cooler violet and teal pearl. There was actually a “base” color that was visible–it made my lips appear brighter and pinker, and there was a bit of gloss that pulled into my lip lines as well (just the deeper ones along the bottom lip). It had semi-sheer coverage at most, though. The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and easy to spread across the lips for even shimmer dispersion. It wore well for two and a half hours and was hydrating.

Pearl x Gold
Becca Pearl x Gold Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a subtly, yellow-tinted base with light gold and medium gold shimmer along with some larger sparkle. It had sheer coverage and semi-sheer “coverage” in the form of shimmer, but the thinner consistency made the sparkly bits very apparent on the lips, especially as the glossiness seemed to wear away within two hours. This one did not seem to shift at all–it wasn’t what I’d even call multi-dimensional, just shimmery.

At least with a distance picture, we can see the differences. Very pretty on you, but idk, what isn’t? Not tempted.
They’re a pretty, shimmery gloss but nowhere near as shifty as I think they are trying to sell them as.
Looks like Becca over hyped these, they are just glosses . Total skip for me, they all kind of look the same on the lips, and no shift of colors
Yep, just gloss – not bad but not the best gloss on the market either.
I don’t think these are bad, but I don’t think they are $22 great. I thought based on the description that they would be more of a shimmery pearl- I am not super excited about the glitter (even though they are mesmerizing in the tube!). I have some “reflex” glitter glosses from the Sephora house brand that give pretty much the same effect; I’ll save my money this time.
Yeah, they’re a typical gloss with shimmer but shorter wear time than average I’d say… three to four is more typical (with most gloss formulas, even when they’re not tacky).
Hmm, seeing them on in the distance pics makes any underlying color (or lack thereof) show up and really gives the sense of what it would look like at a normal viewing distance. The one that stands out to me as being worth my dough is Topaz x Gilt. It will knock down any plum/ purplish tones in my lips, I believe.
But that last one is an embarrassment to Becca. It looks like a cheap gloss I might’ve bought at 16!
Topaz x Gilt is one of the more unique ones!
I like the idea of this product and what it’s going for, but I think the Bite Beauty Prismatic Pearl Creme Lipglosses are way more gorgeous and exciting.
Bite’s are a lot better!!
I dont know with these!! I like them in theory. But they just seem so blah!
my dream is a BLINDING glisttery sheer gloss!!
Aww! I don’t think these are them 🙁
I really had higher expectations for these glosses. If they’re lip toppers then I don’t think you need so many different shades. If they’re meant to be worn alone, then they’re too sheer for my taste. There aren’t too many duochrome glosses on the market (if anyone has recommendations, let me know!), but these don’t fit the bill for me as I had hoped.
Yeah, they don’t have true duochrome shifts – I think Bite’s Prismatic ones are closer or at least more dimensional overall.
Same.
Here are some I have found over the years. I am glad duochromes are on trend now because they used to be much harder to find!

I just screenshotted (new verb?) Your list for my buying needs lol

I’ll pass. They seemed more exciting in pictures, but they’re just gloss.
Yeah, they’re just a gloss 🙂
Pass on these glosses but I sure am liking the eye look you created with the new Rainforest palette.
Thanks a lot, Betty!
Not in love with these! Too much glitter for me!
They seem fairly basic shades and quite expensive. Hmmm, not worth it, I think.
They have been done before
These aren’t what I was expecting. They’re pretty, but nothing terribly special.
I think that’s an apt summary!
These do look a little more sophisticated from afar which I’m thankful for but they still skew a little young for me. I’m a big proponent of wearing what you like regardless of age but I’ve come to really realize the mutton dressed as lamb phenomenon. I’m not quite mutton yet, but there is something to be said about embracing your adultness. That being said, I think they are still nice. I’d have to try them to see if they are aging on me.
