Anastasia Sedona, Soft Touch, Sweet Pea Matte Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Sedona
Anastasia Sedona Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with strong, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips and only tugged slightly (which is good for this formula). The lipstick had a velvety texture that was firmer in the tube but felt thinner on the lips. I noticed that it seemed to sink into my deeper lip lines faintly in the close-up photos, but it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. This sahde wore nicely for five hours and was non-drying.

Formula Overview
$18.00/0.12 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have “full-pigment” with a “smooth, ultra-matte finish.” Since the description was a little light, I also watched the brand’s video, where the formula is also supposed to be comfortable to apply and not settle in lip lines. The best aspects of the formula are how lightweight it felt on–almost like nothing on, so despite being more matte and denser, not heavy or clingy–and that most shades have been non-drying (so far).
There has been some transfer, and the finish is mostly matte but not “ultra-matte” (certainly not as flat or matte as their liquid lipsticks, as an example). Some shades have emphasized my lip lines from a texture standpoint or due to color settling into them, but it depended on the shade. The wear has ranged from four and a half hours to eight hours, and some of the richer shades can survive a moderate meal and definitely drinking coffee.
I found the texture to be the drawback; the lipstick is incredibly firm and dense with little to creaminess, which resulted in an application that tugged and pulled on the lips. It was also the type of texture that caught on flakes, so regular exfoliation is key. There were a few shades that were creamier and thicker on the lips, which were more comfortable to apply, but the majority were quite firm. (They also did not get softer with use.)

Soft Touch
Anastasia Soft Touch Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft pink with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a velvety texture that felt silicone-heavy but had a tendency to look drier and a little powdery on my lips. The texture was thinner and clung to my lips more noticeably. The color stayed on well for four hours and was slightly drying over time.

Sweet Pea
Anastasia Sweet Pea Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deeper pink with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had good color coverage that applied evenly across my lips but did tug on them as I applied it. The texture was denser and firmer, slightly thick but not heavy, and drier in feel, despite feeling like it had some silicone in it (sort of slippery but dry). The color separated noticeably along my lip lines, and it wasn’t just around my deeper ones, unfortunately. It lasted well for four and a half hours before it had severely separated and pulled into my lip lines. The formula felt a little drying over time.

Disappointing – this whole line is way too warm toned – I was hoping they’d rectify this with the new shades, but it looks like not.
Sedona is beautiful! Both the place, and this lip shade. This one I can very easily see myself wearing.
Not the next 2 shades, though. Yikes.
Sweet Pea is the one from this collection that I was interested in. Money saved!
Sedona is a pretty summer shade, but the finishes look uncomfortable.
Sedona is a pretty pink
Oh wow, Sedona is that fun summery color that I’ve been looking for.
Sedona is my kind of color, and I’ve had one of the dupes on my wishlist forever- Nars Natalie. The ABH formula looks a little too dry for me, so I’ll pass on these.
