Hollywood
Anastasia Hollywood Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium coral with warm undertones and a matte finish; it was quite well-balanced between pink and orange. The texture was firmer in the tube, a little stiff initially, but it was smooth enough not to appear ragged when applied, even if there was slight tugging. It had good pigmentation that lasted for four and a half hours on me before it had started to fade unevenly and gathered noticeably in my lip lines. The formula was non-drying.

Formula Overview
$18.00/0.12 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have “full-pigment” with a “smooth, ultra-matte finish.” Since the description was a little light, I also watched the brand’s video, where the formula is also supposed to be comfortable to apply and not settle in lip lines. The best aspects of the formula are how lightweight it felt on–almost like nothing on, so despite being more matte and denser, not heavy or clingy–and that most shades have been non-drying (so far).
There has been some transfer, and the finish is mostly matte but not “ultra-matte” (certainly not as flat or matte as their liquid lipsticks, as an example). Some shades have emphasized my lip lines from a texture standpoint or due to color settling into them, but it depended on the shade. The wear has ranged from four and a half hours to eight hours, and some of the richer shades can survive a moderate meal and definitely drinking coffee.
I found the texture to be the drawback; the lipstick is incredibly firm and dense with little to creaminess, which resulted in an application that tugged and pulled on the lips. It was also the type of texture that caught on flakes, so regular exfoliation is key. There were a few shades that were creamier and thicker on the lips, which were more comfortable to apply, but the majority were quite firm. (They also did not get softer with use.)

Nude
Anastasia Nude Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark peach with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. The texture was more velvety and creamier, so it applied with less tugging and adhered more smoothly to my lips. However, it was thicker and seemed to pull away along my deeper lip lines, so that wasn’t as impressive. It had opaque coverage that lasted for four and a half hours. The formula was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

Petal
Anastasia Petal Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. This shade was creamier and smoother, so it didn’t tug on my lips, but it also had a noticeable shine to its finish compared to other shades in the formula, which were definitely more matte. The lipstick was pigmented, and the color applied evenly but separated slightly along my deeper lip lines and color gathered there over time. It stayed on well for four and a half hours and was non-drying.

These are really pretty. I might try to grab the ColourPop dupe for Hollywood.
Petal and Hollywood both look quite nice, I must say. Not as dry and flat as many in the ABH Matte Lipstick line. They did a good job with these.
Hmm – I don’t really like the look of these shades or their finishes. They seem to me to be very dense and unforgiving.
