Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Face Palette Review & Swatches
Nudegasm
Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Glowgasm Face Palette ($75.00 for 0.52 oz.) includes two shimmery shades and two matte shades; the latter two being designed for contouring/bronzing. The consistency of the two sculpting shades felt thinner and stiffer compared to most gel-powder hybrid formulas, though the other two powders were more yielding and more in line with the dense/slightly stiff (but not in a bad way!) expected from a gel-powder formula.
I don’t understand why the brand released multiple shades of “nude” lipstick but doesn’t grasp that more than one face palette is necessary to provide a “nude” look on multiple skin tones. The palette itself skewed more medium-appropriate in terms of depth, as everything tended to swatch a little darker than it appeared, but it would have made more sense to offer a light/medium and medium deep/deep option (at a minimum! the bar is so low!). It’s even more irritating since the brand did offer a lighter and deeper option when they originally launched the Glowgasm Face Palettes!

Nudegasm (Super Glow)
Nudegasm (Super Glow) is a light, peachy gold with strong, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage with a smooth, slightly firmer texture, but it picked up evenly with a moderately-dense brush and blended out with ease. The highlighter didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture and lasted well for eight and a half hours on my skin.

Nudegasm (Multi-Glow)
Nudegasm (Multi-Glow) is a medium, coppery-orange with warm undertones and fine, gold pearl throughout that gave it a luminous glow on the skin. It had opaque color coverage, though the texture was firmer and a little stiffer, which became more yielding after a few uses but be careful when finger-swatching as it may compact the product further.
It was ever-so-slightly firmer than the average gel-powder hybrid formula, which already require using a denser, slightly more moderate-to-heavy hand approach (but then they have no powderiness and seem to “melt” on skin a bit). The powder, once loosened from the pan, applied beautifully to bare skin and blended out well without emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. It stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading visibly.

Nudegasm (Super Sculpt)
Nudegasm (Super Sculpt) is a dark brown with warm, reddish undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation paired with a slightly firmer, somewhat stiff consistency. I found it seemed to yield more product readily after a few uses, but it sometimes required some pushing to dislodge powder from the pan’s surface, which made it harder to control how much product I picked up each time. Once applied, the powder blended out without too much effort and wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Nudegasm (Sculpt)
Nudegasm (Sculpt) is a light-medium brown with muted, almost yellowy-olive undertones and a matte finish. It had a very firm, stiff texture that I had to really dig at to loosen product, which yielded more medium, buildable coverage in practice. The powder was blendable and applied evenly to bare skin, but it required some effort to get it out of the pan itself initially. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

In spite of 3 of the 4 shades being either too warm, too dark or both, I really like this. The illogical part of me, that just craves buying “something”…”anything” (hence that Benefit highlighter I got) wants to get this but the part of me that isn’t wild about Charlotte Tilbury generally and that doesn’t want to waste $95 on something she doesn’t need and won’t use is trying to assert itself!
Iโm not a fan of CT products either, in general. The quality is mediocre, especially given the price point. However, I did love glowgasm (light version) . That pink duochrome shade was unique and ethereal on my skin and I used that palette nonstop for a few months.
Alas, this does look too deep and too warm for fair skinned ladies, so Iโll have to pass. I could probably make it work, just to look at that pretty packaging, but not sure I want to work that hard when I have other face palettes that will do the trick perfectly.
I love CT original bronze and glow palette and for years I wished theyโd come up with a palette more like this. It can be used on eyes too- I learned that from Michele Wangโs review and it looked wonderful on her fair -medium skin.
Thank you for the review Christine. Itโs good enough for me since I trust both you and Michele. I will definitely purchase it during the next Sephora VIB sales. Or maybe earlier if I just felt like it lol
Yep, it’s definitely medium-centric, which means that it would work great for me. Well, provided I felt like laying out $75, that is.
As for there being only one Nudegasm palette, I also feel that she ought to have offered at least one more version, and had another blush instead of two sculpting shades. But that’s just me, I suppose.
To be honest, this doesn’t look so hot at all. It’s mediocre quality for a great big price and unless all four shades work for you (which I doubt) then it is a waste of money.
And by only offering one of these, CT has misread the market – even CP offers a greater variety and they were pretty good.
I want this so bad. It’s the first face palette I’ve seen and gone “yes! yes to all of these colors!”, but my old nemesis dimethicone means I’ll be passing.
I agree 100% with your criticisms of the shade range.
I bought this on release but should have waited for your review only 2 shades work for me. I enjoyed the darker Glowgasm palette except the too light bronzer this palette feels like a step back for the brand who could do light, medium, and deep palettes. I canโt express how much I appreciate you discussing inclusivity in beauty. It leads to people like me getting shades, itโs that powerful.
So bummed to hear that only two shades worked for you ๐
