Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye Pick You Eye Crayon Set Review & Swatches
Eye Pick You
Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye Pick You 4-Piece Eye Crayon Set ($39.00 for 0.035 oz.) is a new, limited edition set of three, travel-sized Highliner Gel Crayons and one, full-sized Fineliner. There are two new, exclusive shades to the sett–Cherry on Taupe and Cherry Amour–which performed consistently with the brand’s other shimmery eyeliners. They were semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, comfortable and easy to use, and long-wearing.

Blacquer
Blacquer is a deep, inky black with a subtle sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which applied evenly to my lash line and water line without skipping or tugging uncomfortably. The texture was lightly creamy–wetter than the other three eyeliners–but smooth and easy to work with. It wore well for 11 hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$24.00/0.0038 oz. - $6315.79 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have an ultra-fine tip (2mm) that "glides on precisely" for "all-day wear" that is "waterproof." They are typically nearly opaque to opaque in coverage in one, smooth and fluid line. The consistency is creamy, smooth, and not prone to skipping, while the creaminess ensures that it doesn't tug or pull at the lash line (or water line). I find that some shades apply well on my lower waterline but not the upper waterline (like Blacquer doesn't want to adhere to my waterline at all but Grapevine goes on like butter). They have lasted between eight and 12 hours, depending on placement and level of allergies I'm enduring at a particular moment (my eyes are normally watery but when I'm dealing with more noticeable allergies, I'm always leaking out of the corner of my eye).

(Earth)quake
(Earth)quake is a deep brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, lightly emollient–more of a velvety glide than wetter, creamier feel–that applied opaque coverage across my lash line in a single, fluid stroke. It lasted well for 12 hours before fading slightly.

Formula Overview
$25.00/0.01 oz. - $2500.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have “intense color payoff” with “12-hour longwear” with a “bold matte finish” that is supposed to be waterproof and “well-suited” for the waterline. The majority of the shades are very pigmented with mostly opaque to fully opaque coverage in a single pass, while the texture is creamy but dries down within ten to fifteen seconds.
They wear shorter on the waterline (six to nine hours) and longer on the lower lash line (nine to twelve hours). The formula is fantastic for lining, but the one thing that makes me hesitate is that the past iterations of the liners have dried out in as little as one year (with some lasting two years or longer), though I have noticed the more shimmery shades are first to dry out.

Cherry on Taupe
Cherry on Taupe is a medium, rosy mauve with subtle, warm undertones and fine, multi-colored pearl that gave it a soft, metallic finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff in a single layer, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverage. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy so it didn’t drag or tug on my lower lash line but didn’t migrate while it was setting. It wore well for 12 hours before showing signs of fading.

Cherry Amour
Cherry Amour is a brighter, medium-dark reddish-plum with subtle, warm undertones and fine red and plum pearl. The eyeliner had nearly opaque color payoff in one pass, which adhered evenly to my lash line and didn’t drag or tug during application. The consistency was smooth, more velvety with glide than overly emollient/creamy, and comfortable to work with. It stayed on nicely for 12 hours before starting to fade a bit.

Ooh! I like!
These would go so fantastically well with the Huda Rich Nudes palette I just got. Like they were made for each other!
If Cherry on Taupe was solid individually, I’d be all over it! But buying the whole set for one isn’t really worth it for me (I already own Blacquer and Earth(Quake)).
same! I’d want it as a pressed shadow too
Oh yes, absolutely! It’s such a lovely shade.
(Also *SOLD,* not *SOLID.* That’s been bugging me.)
Yes!!
Chiming in with a rousing yes, even though MJB liners don’t work for me.
Cherry on Taupe seems to be the hero of this selection – a more unique shade and I think it would suit a wide variety of complexions too. A gorgeous shade.
Both cherry liners are so pretty and I’m currently out of a black liner. Thinking I’ll pick this up in the Sephora sale.
Well, I be damned. I never thought I would be suckered in to an eyeliner set and I think this did it. Eyeliner is the one thing I just never got the hang of and have only used maybe a handful of times in my life. I generally just smudge in some darker shadow. And I’ve decided that over the winter I would start playing with my eye makeup and see if I can finally get the hang of eyeliner. I almost didn’t click on this post and at the last minute went…well, maybe and wouldn’t you know it those cherry colors are just so pretty and more wearable than I thought they would be.
Damn.
I’ve wanted to try the marc jacobs eyeliners forever but didn’t want to purchase full size ones as they’re quite expensive and I don’t wear eyeliner enough to justify the price.
But these are beaaauuuutiful and in perfect little minis too!
They better become available in the UK or I might Hulk out.
I don’t wear eyeliner often but these look gorgeous, specifically Cherry on Taupe and Cherry Amour.
I like. I wonder how close Cherry Amour is to the old shade Framboise..or something like that, I think. I loved that colour. I think it might be pinker. Will check it out.
Ooops.. I meant Jazzberry.
Methinks Jazzberry has been renamed

I have a love/hate relationship with Blacquer but the rest look fab!
Did this sell out already? Or get pulled? Sephora brings up a “productnotcarried” error when I search for it now, and I can’t find it on any other retailer sites, including the MJ website I was really hoping to get it during the sale.
That’s usually what that means, but I’m surprised it sold out on both sites…
So weird how I can’t find this anywhere. I guess it really did sell out??
It might have 🙁
