Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno Collection Swatches
Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno Collection had an early-access, limited time release last week, which is when I purchased the collection, but it’ll arrive in full on November 29th at Melt and Sephora. I will do my best to turn around reviews ahead of that launch date, but for now, please find swatches in this post!
P.S. — I looked through some of Melt’s Instagram posts, their website, and on Sephora, and nothing is listed as limited edition (if anyone else has seen it confirmed as limited edition, let me know!).
Thank you for these swatches! I’ve seen a couple of YT reviews on some of the shades, I can’t wait to hear what you think of this collection.
The swatches look like the quality is mostly present! Pretty impressive! My only qualm is that I’m not into the whole spiritistic theme, so I know that the most I’ll buy is one of the eyeliners (Fortuna or Santos) or possibly a lipstick (Fiesta), provided that they’re not ridiculously dry. If I’m being honest with myself, I’ll likely be passing on all of it, though.
Hey Nancy, I ordered the palettes and Santos during the prelaunch and let me say they don’t disappoint. The spiritualistic theme is from their Mexican background. They included a long detail note explaining how they curated this collection. Hope this helps. If not there will always be others as we get closer to the Holiday season.
The swatches look great. Vida has some unique shades that swatched well and doesn’t have that black-based glitter so it piqued my interest.
That highlighter ?I just bought the new Chanel and MJ releases but I’m a sucker for ☠️??
Muerte would never work for me AT ALL but I find it just absolutely gorgeous. I’m not even a little tempted to actually buy it, but I love that it exists.
Wow… Defenetely something quote innovative in a over saturated market. But, of course, like a lot of other brand I Dream about, Melt Is practically unavailable outside US
Mariachi…How gorgeous! This color makes a statement. I feel like there is a place and time for this particular shade. I have a ton of purple lipstick, anywhere from “almost black” to pastel lavender, but nothing quite like this, and while I adore purple, it’s hard to find the right mood or moment for a lot of it. I feel like this would be pretty as a sheer blot of color on the lips for work/daytime, and then for a party, a themed event, a night out, you could go full on dazzling purple. I could see this fitting into some sort of artistic expression, but what? Its such a fun color, and could get more interesting with a dab of black gloss over, mixed with a tiny bit of black liquid lipstick, or paired with black lip liner. Hmmm. I’d love to know if it was eye safe, it’d be cool as eyeliner. This may be the only thing I would get from this collection, if I get anything at all.
I love that the palettes are mostly matte and look like they’re performing better than Radioactive – these are definitely going on my holiday wishlist! The highlighter is so tempting, but it looks a little too sheer for my liking.
These look amazing but I’ve been struggling with navigating my desire not to appropriate sacred cultures not my own. The fact that the company is run by two Latinx is definitely a plus but I feel like they are using it to sell rather than educate.

Thank you for saying this. I am Latina and I don’t want to assume things but because our culture is trendy right now, I’m annoyed by it being used to sell stuff, especially makeup. I won’t be buying this collection.
I love the Muerte palette and although I am very pale skinned I still like to use these deep, saturated colours and as I have said before on the blog, at 65 I do what I want. If it isn’t exactly the best e/s look for older women, I will enjoy it anyway. The liquid lippie’s look pretty drying so not likely to be tempted by them. Now to the real crux of the matter, I just don’t feel good supporting Melt’s brand. It took me a while to admit this to myself as I lusted after the Smoke Sessions palette and ultimately didn’t buy it. When I analyzed why I came to realize that I just don’t feel comfortable in supporting not just the use of weed but actually celebrating it. Maybe it has to do with being older, 65, or maybe it is being a nurse and recognizing that I don’t want to support this. Does weed use mean you will advance to stronger and more aggressive drug use, likely not. Is it as harmless as a lot of users would like to think it is?
No, I don’t think it is harmless and the reason why is obvious, our lungs were not meant to inhale any hot, chemical laden smoke into them. There is damage done and it definitely will increase the risk of lung disease and even lung cancer so, I just can’t be a part of that. Regardless, I just don’t think I will buy from Melt. I have several other reasons for not supporting but that is the major one. Anyway, off my hobby horse and back to makeup.
Hi Deborah!
Do you have a link or source on how it increases the risk of lung cancer? It seems like it is something that most experts agree needs a lot more research and clinical studies (which are hard to do in the US because of its illegal status at the federal level) so I would appreciate any studies you could share to learn more!
Here is a recent 2018 article that summarizes a lot of what seems to be known so far: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6118880/
A reader was concerned with the accuracy of the claim made about a definitive increased risk of lung cancer, so I thought I’d ask ?
I want Mariachi lipstick and the Muerte palette. Gorgeous!
Me too Rachel!
This collection is so beautiful, true collector’s items and display pieces.
These palettes are so pretty. I limit myself to buying at Ulta but these looks so gorgeous I may have to break that rule. I’ve been wanting to see some teals for awhile. If they work like UD shadows do on me, my wallet may be in danger.
These look pretty good – especially Muerte. A very striking collection of shades and colours.
Hi Christine!!!
I bought my kit and on my receipt, it did say limited edition but i got the box set with the entire collection so i dont know if it pertains to that but several youtubbers like Raw Beauty Kristi and others that attended the Melt party in Los Angeles have said it is limited edition. But your swatches captured the beauty of this palette that i have experienced!!
Thanks – I sent a message to Melt earlier today but haven’t heard back yet! I’d assume the PR kit itself is limited edition for sure!
Muerte will be mine! I use Gemini so much so Vida would be a repetitive purchase for me, but I love blue and think it’ll be so lovely for the holiday season, since I wear a lot of black, silver, and navy for holiday! It’ll also go well with a darker lip.
These palettes are gorgeous, they call to me. However, I’ve purchased 6 palettes & 1 single in the last 2 1/2 months. I most definitely do not need either, but, these would play so good with my other Melt palettes & stacks.
I got the email from Melt for the early access. Sorry I didn’t buy Muerte when I had the chance. The blue and red eye shadows combined in that palette are so unique and pretty! Well at least I’ll be able to see how it performs when the review goes up. So far all the reviews I’ve seen are good. Wish Melt had it on their site longer. I love supporting female owned businesses.
It hasn’t even fully launched yet, so you haven’t missed it. There was early access to it, but not a full launch.
