Flower Beauty Bitten Blush Bomb Review & Swatches
Bitten
Flower Beauty Bitten Blush Bomb ($9.99 for 0.3 oz.) is a bright, deep berry with cool, pink undertones and a natural finish. It has a lightweight, gel-like texture–not quite as dense as a cream but not as watery as a true liquid blush would feel–that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely without sinking into my pores or emphasizing my texture. The formula also worked well over base products without disturbing or lifting them up as the blush was applied and blended out. It dried down to a transfer-resistant finish that was lightly dewy. This shade stayed on well for nine hours before fading slightly on me.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have "buildable" coverage with a "natural looking" finish that "blends seamlessly" and is "non-staining." They have a gel-like consistency--more liquid-like but with more substance, a little less watery in feel--that plays better with base products than more water-like liquid/cream blushes. This type of gel texture seems to smooth over base products without lifting them up in my experience. I found the texture easy to apply over bare skin or base products with fingertips or synthetic brushes (though I tend to use fingertips for ease and because they're faster to clean between swatches!). They dried down for the most part but remained more natural to dewy in finish, which was the best of both worlds -- the sheen of liquid and cream products but without a bunch of slip-and-slide during wear.
The pigmentation ranged from shade to shade, though they were all buildable, but a couple of shades, like Bitten (deeper berry), were shades where a little went a long way; they were more semi-opaque to opaque in coverage with sheer coverage being possible by using a very small amount of product. The wear ranged from eight to nine hours before the color started to fade noticeably.

Holy pigmentation Batman!
I’ll have to keep an eye on this formula because I like the sound of the texture, too.
Aw, I’m delighted that we finally agree on a product! <3 I always tell people that I know I'll love a product if it gets about a C+ from you, but I love these cream blushes too. I mix Nectar and Melon.
I can’t remember when I have seen such a pigmented blush from a DS brand. This is beautiful and I will definitely be checking it out when I go to town next. Really gorgeous.
Wowza! That’s a bright one! Not sure how it would translate onto the cheeks, though. Usually, these types of shades tend to look best on either the lightest or deepest of skintones.
Wow! That baby’s pigmented !
I love Florwer Beauty , thanks for reviewing !
wow, this swatches gorgeously and I love the dewy finish!! How would you say this compares to the Glossier cloud paints? Your description of the texture reminded me of the “gel-cream” language that Glossier uses to describe the paints
The Blush Bombs feel a bit heavier/thicker in a way (not HEAVY, though) and seem a bit more pigmented from the get go!
this formula is SO amazing and for such a great price! happy to see it represented on here 🙂
Wow, that sounds amazing!
Pass. My skin reacts to the second ingredient. Appreciate you posting the ingredients!
Holy moly! I wasn’t expecting that level of pigmentation. That shade and finish are beautiful.
I have Pinched and Cinnamon and am impressed by both the formula and packaging. The tubes have a clear tip that is genius, you can see the product approaching the opening so it is easy to dispense exactly the amount you need-which is not much! I like to squeeze out a small dab, spread it on the back of my hand and apply with my fingers, for Pinched, or a sponge, for Cinnamon, which I have to sheer out a bit more.
These are my favorite drugstore makeup items! I’m so happy you are reviewing them!
The packaging is really nice – definitely one of the best for this type of formula (liquid blush!).
Oh my! This is beautiful! Are you using your fingers to apply or a brush! Looks like I’ve been sleeping on Flower Beauty!
You can use either, but I use fingertips because it’s much faster + easier to clean a fingertip than a brush 😉
