Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt & pepper hair
Favorite Look: EYES: The Emily Edit—The Wants Palette (Pizzazz in crease, Cupcake on lid, Heartbeat on outer V, The Cream on browbone), ABH Brow Wiz, Clinique High Impact Mascara (trial size), Marc Jacobs Highliner in (Brown)ie to tightline the upper lash line. FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, Clinique Blushing Blush in Cupid. LIPS: MAC Amplified Lipstick in Half ‘n’ Half.
Most Used Products: The Emily Edit—The Wants Palette by Makeup Revolution, Marc Jacobs Highliners (plus the usuals—Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, ABH Brow Wiz)
Beauty Discoveries: The above eyeshadow color combination from the Emiy Edit palette is one of the best daytime eye looks I’ve done in a long time. I recreated it a few days this week with different lipsticks each time. The NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer is essential with this palette, and the shade Cupcake needs a bit of building up with my finger, but once done, the look lasts all day.
Discovery: Adept magnetic palettes via Amazon. Ordered Fri; showed up Sat. Wow, speed demon shipping. These are brilliant. Not travel palettes. They are heavy and sturdy colored plastic, with the magnetic surfaces on the outsides, and a clear lucite/acrylic divider. When flat/opened, you see everything, unlike the other double sides that you have to flip, to see all. I think they hold up to 100 pieces. These are fabulous home storage, especially when singles have made such a strong comeback, or you have significant depotted pans. Many readers need these in their lives.
Skin tone: Under my name but very fair with neutral undertones, grey hair and dark brown eyes.
Favorite look this week: I used the L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Face foundation in the shade 405 which is my correct shade, finally got the right one. I used Thrive Loose Powder for setting my face and the Buxom Wanderlust blush in Mykonos. I used the Too Faced Sweetie Peach Bronzer as my transition shade. I took my brush and basically swirled it over all of the shade and ended up with a slightly peachy brown for the crease. I then used a small brush to pick up only the very lightest shade from the bronzer and used that to blend out the crease. On the mobile lid I used Stila Glitter and Glow in the shade “Into The Blue” by itself with just a tacky base. It was opaque in one pass. I haven’t used the shades on their own and usually put them over a similar matte shade or a shimmery shade that ins’t sparkly enough for me. I used the second shade from the Kaja Bento Box e/s in “Rosewater” for inner corner highlight and my two mascara’s Cover Girl Super Sizer and Thrive . For lipstick I used Aveda “Sweet Pitaya” which I picked up at Harrods in London. I thought the name was a misprint or something. Like maybe they were trying to go with Pinata or something, LOL! Had to look it up to find that it is Dragon Fruit. Anyway, it was a simple look but I liked how it turned out. I buffed out the face with Guerlain Meteorites in the shade “02 Claire” and sprayed with MAC Fix +.
Most used product this week: Still my Emme Cosmetics Spring Garden palette and the two shades of the Wanderlust blushes that I picked up from Buxom. Both really pretty blushes. I got Seychelles and Mykonos.
Beauty discoveries: Nothing this week.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool
Favorite look from the week: my pretty basic look (Dior blush, Smashbox Red Rage on lips, Sephora Cappuccino liner) but I dug out my Smashbox Night Shoot trio, which I’d not used in quite a while and I loved the subtle but slightly smokily-defined eye look
Your most used product this week: Smashbox Red Rage lipstick
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Old: MAC Love Thing Mineralize Blush, which I’ve not used in quite some time; New: Sephora Empowered lipstick (which I also see pictured above) – I love the pigmented stain it leaves behind as it wears away (lipsticks – any lipsticks – don’t generally last very long on me so this is a nice bonus!); Lannister Gold 24/7 liner – ooooh, ooooh, ooooh!
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes
Favorite look from the week: EYES — UD Primer Potion in Enigma. Marc Jacobs Steel(etto) Palette: Jungle (crease) blended out with Rule, Sidewalks (brow bone), and Catwalks (deep crease; outer V; smudged on lower lash line). Nyx Prismatic Shadow in Tin (lid). UD Moondust in Granite (center of lid over Tin). Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil in Chillz (inner corner). ABH e/s single in Love Letter (brows). UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion (upper and lower waterlines). Pacifica Dream Big Mascara. LIPS — UD Sheer Rapture. CHEEKS — MAC Blush in Pink Cult; Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil in Stone Cold. FACE — E.l.f. Hydrating Face Primer; BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Foundation in Ivory; e.l.f. HD Powder in Sheer; Sephora Tranquil (contour); City Color Cosmetics Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder; e.l.f. Original Mist & Set.
Your most used product this week: UD Sheer Rapture and brown lipsticks in general have been my thing the last couple of weeks. Plus, my usual dailies (which now includes E.l.f. Hydrating Face Primer instead of NYX Angel Veil).
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): I’m really loving Sephora Rouge Lacquer in Squad Goals. It’s brown like I want, but the glossy finish keeps it looking and feeling like a spring/summer shade. I think it’s really flattering with my coloring, too.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones.
Favourite look from the week: I used the Lorac Pro Metals palette, with Gilded (the soft gold shade) on the lid, with a smidgeon of Amber with Graphite on the lower lid. I used my Maybelline Spice for Me lipstick. It complemented my new top…
Your most used product this week: All my staples as I use a different eye palette nearly every day.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): That I really love the Amber shade in my Pro Metals palette and it is nearly running out. I use the City Color shade of Cleo as a subsitute, but the Amber shade has an X factor that I love.
Christine, I am wondering why the box above my comments keeps appearing. Is there a reason for this? Sorry to be a nuisance.
Hi Genevieve,
I’m not sure what you mean? If you have a pending comment, there is a notice that appears above your comment to indicate your comment is still pending – that is intentional!
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-fair neutral undertones, green-grey eyes, reddish brown hair at the moment.
Favorite look from the week: I’m super boring right now, having no imagination whatsoever. Generally I just use a light shade on the mobile lid, with a lighter shimmery shade in the inner corner, some transition/crease eye shadows in neutral browns or slightly pinkish or peachy browns. I did buy an eye shadow palette from Revolution that had a very pretty, but not uncommon duocrome that I liked a lot. Brownish red shifting to green. I liked that on the mobile lid with said crease/transition.
Your most used product this week: All weeks, Charlotte Tilbury Browlift in Super Model, it’s the only colour brow product I use these days, I guess it suits me, or I think it does. 🙂
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): The Revolution E/S palette, I can’t remember what they call it, it’s in a shimmery teal-blue plastic case. (New.) Old, nothing, I haven’t used anything old for some time.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair to light, with neutral to cool undertones
Favorite look from the week: Only had one look – YSL touche eclait all-in-one in cool almond mixed with a bit of Armani Fluid Sheer in #7, some variation of brown eye using Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics with a hint of Sydney Grace Vibrant Madness, MAC Mineralize Blush in Cosmic Force, and Givenchy 24 hr lip stain in radical red.
Your most used product this week: Most used would probably be the Bite nighttime agave lip therapy. Not sure if I like it better than Kiehls or Laneige yet, but it’s nice.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Dug out my tube of Aquaphor to use during the day on my peeling lips. Cheap and not flashy, but works wonders.
Which shadow palette is in the cover picture of this title ? Thanks in advance
Milani Pure Passion
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin (foundation matches: Fenty Pro Filt’r 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands
Favorite look from the week: Probably Wednesday-my usual base products, Tarte Amazonian Clay Paaarty blush, BH Zodiac Aquarius shimmer eyeshadow (it’s a gorgeous green-gold that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before) from lashline to just under browbone, Hard Candy Ginormous Lash Electric Blue mascara, CoverGirlxKaty Perry Katy Kat Matte Cat Call lipstick
Your most used product this week: Besides my usual base products (Maybelline New York SuperStay Better Skin 10 Ivory concealer, Fenty Match Stick Amber as cheekbone contour, Pro Filt’r 110)? Probably the UDxGoT Longclaw eyeshadow brush-I’ve been using it ever since it was delivered Wednesday. It and Needle both have really soft bristles, apply shadow smoothly, and clean well.
Palette freebies, GoT, regular purchases, it doesn’t matter-I highly recommend UD eyeshadow brushes, because all the ones I’ve used seem to work really well.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): From my Wednesday look, that blue, green-gold, and pink work really well together! Also, see my little ode to UD eyeshadow brushes above.
