Bite Beauty Strawberry Froze Outburst Longwear Lip Stains Reviews & Swatches
Strawberry Froze
Bite Beauty Strawberry Froze Outburst Longwear Lip Stain ($24.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer, which adhered evenly and smoothly on my lips. The consistency felt firmer, almost like a more solid lip balm, but it glided across my lips with firmer pressure but no dragging or tugging, so it was still easy enough to maneuver it along the edges of my lips.
This particular shade is very close to the actual stain that gets left behind after the shine and product wears away. The more “lipstick” like part of the formula still had great wear at five and a half hours, while the stain itself was still noticeably intact into the next day, though it wasn’t strictly wearable. It was a color that could definitely be worn all day long, but it had faded enough and less evenly (especially along the inner area of my lips) by my second meal of the day, which is stellar wear. I’d just recommend being prepared to use something like a microfiber cloth and some makeup remover to soften and remove most of the remaining stain so that lips don’t look blotchy.

The formula is supposed to be a "high-impact, low-maintenance lip stain" with "vibrant, bold color" and a "satin-matte finish." In the initial launch at least, there are only three shades available, and while they were noticeably different initially, they all tended to have more of a fuchsia-like stain left behind that looked more similar than not. Each shade was intensely pigmented with semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single layer. The consistency was firmer, thinner, and felt almost gel-like as they applied to my lips, and they didn't drag but did need firmer pressure compared to their other lip products (not in a painful or uncomfortable way).
The product was quick to stain, and the stain itself was intense and richer with more coverage--by no means a faint stain or anything resembling a light stain leftover from a more pigmented red lipstick or the like. The stain lingered and lingered into the next morning for two shades, which I had to remove by using a microfiber cloth and remover to get most of the product off.
This product, in general, will work better for someone who is less concerned about wearing drastically different colors from day to day as a result of how long-wearing the stain portion was. The issue I had was that after a second meal, the stain was noticeably uneven and not something I'd want to keep wearing. The lip colors seemed to last five to six hours, while the stain certainly went on and on and was "decent" in how it appeared for another five to seven hours (depending on what one ate/drank and how often). I'd recommend reapplication at that point or tapping some more on the center of lips and blending outward if good wear is necessary for more than that length of time.
They were comfortable to wear, lightly hydrating in the way that it seemed to help my lips retain their moisture over time without adding enough hydration that my lips felt better after 12+ hours of wearing a shade. They had a faint, sweet, lemony scent but no discernible taste. Also, the product is not transfer-proof, but the stain itself is transfer-resistant (some will come away on a napkin).

Wow, Bite does it again.
That looks lovely! I already ordered the red one (Sangria Slush?) so I hope it’s as good as this one! Of course I am usually pretty happy with Bite so I felt confident ordering without waiting for a review.
Whoa! Now that’s a PIIIINK!!! And even though this is not a type of shade that I would normally bother with or allow myself to be drawn to, I am going to go try it on just to see if this one may just be “it”.
Packs a punch and yet texture wise still looks light on the lips. Nice!
Thank you for reviewing this before Sephora’s sale! I’m going to really consider buying one of the shades based on your review – that wear time is INSANE. I just don’t wear colors as bright as the shades offered very often, so we’ll see.
I may be in the minority, but I don’t want a lip product that barely budges into the next day. It’s just not appealing to me, particularly if I have to scrub to get it off. I’m just not that bothered by reapplying that I need 24 hour wear.
I agree with you. I think they’re trying to appeal to the market that’s been obsessed with long wear liquid lipsticks for so long, so I think that’s we’re trending back to bullets, but in slim casing long wear form. Not sure why slim casing equals long wear but that seems to be what everyone is doing. I hated the feel of liquid lipsticks myself.
Stunning shade of Strawberry for a very bright look.
Oh, yes! I love how freaking bright it is.
What I respect most about this product line is that the performance matches the claims and descriptions it advertises. I mean some people might find lip stains to be not desirable and they can expect a stain from a lip products that’s labelled “lip stain”. Some lipsticks on the market can leave stains without the claims and that can be so annoying for some consumers.
I love these new stains! I have this color and orange fizz. I find orange fizz to be more pigmented but they are light feeling on the lips and hydrating and comfortable! Really pretty and perfect for the warmer weather
I totally love this shade! BUT…I’d worry that it would feather out into the little lines that run outside of my lips, and then stay there for two days as a stain, making my lips look all ragged and weird. 🙁
LOL!
Yes, one does have to be careful about that – I find the same is true with some of the more pigmented liquid lipsticks during removal that if I am careless, I can end up with a blurring pinkish effect beyond my lips.
Ugh, for me it’s an aging thing. I never used to have this problem. These days, red lipstick can make me look like I have lots of tiny red veins spreading outside of my lips, if I don’t wear a good lip liner. And even then, it can happen anyway. I’m always on a search for the perfect tip for mature lips.
