Outre! Once my go-to mustardy color for making my blue eyes look bluer.
The swatches in the Designer one look a lot better than I was expecting — I felt sure they’d be horribly patchy but I’m actually impressed. Flame-boyant’s mattes look terrible, but who knows, maybe they’d be better on the eye? Nude Model’s mattes seem so-so. All the shimmers look good, but I’d expect that. If I didn’t have a stash the size of my local Ulta, and I was in the market for a neutral palette, I’d probably get Nude Model, but that ship sailed about 10 years ago.
Love the names BTW: “Can’t Afford This,” “My Kid Could Make That”…

If I were to purchase any of these, it would probably be flame-boyant. I could see the bright on beinng popular, but not for me there are some nice colours that would still be wearable for lots of people either to compliment looks, or as complete looks. The nude palette probablly has too many permanent an repromoted shades for the avid mac collector, but would make a nice introduction to the brand or for someone who loves these shades and/or for someone who only wears nudes.

They are gorgeous but I have most of those shades in either MAC, Inglot or Anastasia.
Whew! I’m a palette junkie so I’m relieved that I can pass.
It’s Designer is actually more appealing to me now than just based on the promo images. Still leaning toward not buying any of these, but I can see how, for travel, I’d just pack one of my favorite nude palettes + this one, and be set for shadows.

I just love the name. “My kid could make that…” I bet artists hear that too often ?
I am actually impressed with MAC – sure there is a patchy matte or two and a few faint shimmers, but overall these palettes look great.
What a lot of work getting the photos and swatches of three palettes up so quickly Christine! You are amazing.
Genevieve, you just echoed my thoughts on these totally! They really do look pretty good!

Even though I have way too much eye shadow, I still want Nude Model. And I wish Gallerina was available as a single, as it is the only color I want from that palette.
This one grabbed my eye but it looks as do some of the others as dupeable as hell in my Morphe palettes. I’ll be interested in reviews. Coloured Raine actually gave me their bright palette. I was highly impressed with this. I love colors, especially brights and this caught my eye.

Gallerina, Triennial Waves… I love the names! I would just like to buy for the names never mind the colors too! Still on my no-buy though.
Looking at these swatches, I’m impressed with 95% of the shades! That said, I am rather surprised by the poor quality of Sugar Plum in the Nude Model palette. Plus a few mattes in the Flame-Boyante palette.
And then as I’m perusing the It’s Designer swatches all I could think of was, how is it that MAC got this one right, and yet just one year ago they BOMBED with that Jeremy Scott palette??? Things that make ya go hmmm!
Tali
I’m loving the bright coloured one! Can you take out the pans or are they glued in?
I don’t think you can – I tried with tweezers but found it hard to get a great grip… so I don’t feel like I fully “tried” in a way but I didn’t feel anything budge!

Literally wasn’t expecting to want any of these, not really into palettes, but the designer palette looks really good! I want to put all those colours on my eyes and I don’t even wear colours that bright! I probably shouldn’t buy it though

Heya! I keep seeing that these are a Nordstrom exclusive, butttttt that isn’t the case. I’m not sure what all MAC locations and/or dept. stores will have them, but the store I work at will have them. 😉
It’s exclusive to Nordstrom until 2/25, and then maccosmetics.com will have it along with select MAC stores. The press release did not indicate any other department stores.
Impressed by the neutral palette…nice mix of useful and pretty shades. Good contrast too. Though Nude Model looks kind of dusty, unfortunately (maybe Sugar Plum too, hard to tell from just the swatch)
Christine, did you do an earlier feature of some sort on these because I remember loving and commenting on the name “My Kid Could Make That” and I love some of the other names, which are clever but not “forced”. I think that anyone who has used MAC for a while will find that each of the palettes contains shadows he or she already owns and that’s my problem – every one has shades I already own or simply don’t want to own. I think MAC discontinued Samoa Silk some time ago and their bringing it back makes me think “why?”. As others have said, I’d love it if Gallerina and a few others were available as singles (If It Ain’t Baroque, Gogh Lightly and several others)
I. Love. These. The idea behind them, the it looks like finger painting across the cover, the names, the color story… OMG why can’t I afford two. I am really into Nude Model (an actual neutral – not warm or cool – light AND dark brown!) because I can see myself using and probably panning every shade. If these review well I’m all in. I also love the looks of It’s Designer and those colors are so fun and I want to play with them, but I have to be honest with myself that it wouldn’t get much use. Just a little observation, Starry Night looks just like CP’s Mr. Sandman in the swatch… perhaps without the glittery aspect. I am over, and never was in to, burnt oranges and reds and super warm palettes because they just don’t look that great on me so Flame Boyant is not my cup of tea – but I still think all three are quite pretty to look at.

THEY BROUGHT BACK SAMOA SILK FOR THIS??!?
Okay, so I’m super excited because Samoa silk was my very favorite eyeshadow when I first got into makeup and then it was discontinued so I’m hoping they bring it back!
