Burberry Bright Pink, Hibiscus, Crimson Pink Kisses Sheer Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Bright Pink (233)
Burberry Bright Pink (233) Kisses Sheer Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, pop of fuchsia pink with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in one layer and opaque coverage in two layers. The consistency was lightweight, creamy, and emollient with noticeable shine and slip, which made it comfortable to apply but easy to over-apply. There was a smidgen of product that gathered in my deeper lip lines and very, very faint streaks along the outer edge, but all of this was only visible in the close-up photo but not something I detected on myself just looking in a standard mirror. It wore well for four and a half hours, left a very faint stain behind, and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$34.00/0.11 oz. - $309.09 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "buildable colour" with a "satin finish" and "continuous hydration." They have medium, buildable coverage with some shades having more semi-opaque, buildable coverage. I found that "a layer" depended on the shade, as some seemed to go on more heavily--and looked more like a cream finish--and others were more emollient, a bit thinner, and translucent and had more of a stained-like finish. The brand recommended "two to three" layers for more "intense depth and vibrancy." For all swatches, I applied two layers, and in each shade's respective review, you'll find the coverage range described. Generally speaking, though, they definitely weren't ultra-sheer in one layer; two layers was only needed for more opaque coverage with most shades.
The consistency was more emollient with noticeable slip, which made it easy to apply across my lips, but they can feel like they're melting as you apply. In my experience, this can lead to over-applying product, so it's just something I'm more aware of while applying this type of formula to ensure that I don't layer on too much product. Most shades applied evenly, but a fair number of them had slight settling--the kind that I can see in the close-up photos but not so much just looking in the mirror--to more noticeable settling in my lip lines due to how much slip the formula had. The slip made them comfortable, like a juicy lip balm, and the hydration was there throughout wear and my lips didn't feel dry or tight for hours after the color had worn off. They lasted between three and five hours on me with some of the richer, deeper hues leaving behind subtle stains.
There wasn't any noticeable scent or taste. Burberry's lipstick cases close magnetically, which I've found keeps the caps on very securely and ensures that it always closes when you put the cap back on!

Hibiscus (237)
Burberry Hibiscus (237) Kisses Sheer Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark raspberry pink with cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had buildable pigmentation from semi-sheer to semi-opaque (two layers). The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and emollient with more of a stained-like effect on my lips–shiny, evenly translucent color. The color went on evenly and was comfortable to apply and to wear. It stayed on well for four hours and was moisturizing while worn.

Crimson Pink (241)
Burberry Crimson Pink (241) Kisses Sheer Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, coral-red with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had buildable color payoff that ranged from medium (one layer) to mostly opaque (two layers), which adhered evenly and smoothly to my lips without emphasizing my lip lines. The lipstick had a creamy, moderately emollient texture that glided easily across my lips but didn’t slide around too much during wear, so it had decent staying power (but by no means an all-day lip color). It lasted for just over four and a half hours on me and was hydrating over time.

Hibiscus is so pretty, but I have Givenchy Framboise Couture and that’s close enough!
Dang, Crimson Pink is beautiful. Fuchsia is tricky on me, though. I own Dior Darling and it skews cool toned on me, which isn’t what I wanted. I’d be afraid of this doing the same thing.
No fair, Burberry! Both Hibiscus and Crimson Pink are such perfect spring shades, and I love them both, but I’m on a low-buy year! Hibiscus reminds me of raspberry jam!
These are gorgeous! Crimsome pink for the win!
Think I may try this!

The Burberry brand is 100% dead to me, “thanks” to the the fashion house’s Fall 2019 noose hoodie. I have a few pretty highlighters and blushes from the brand, but they’ll never get another penny from me.
