101 White

Make Up For Ever 101 White Star Lit Diamond Powder ($26.00 for 0.08 oz.) seemed to have a translucent base and lots of silver and white micro-glitter and glitter. It felt chunkier and more glitter-packed compared to most of the shades in the range (it was most similar in texture to to 102 White Gold). It was only buildable in coverage if applied over a tacky base or used with a glitter adhesive, but it did not naturally build up much and was prone to sheering out when I worked with it dry in any capacity.

Overall, it definitely applied even less impressively on its own whether that was to eyes or cheeks, though it was more inclined to stay put on my cheeks compared to my eyes. I would not bother with this shade unless you anticipated using it with a glitter adhesive, where it will be easier to use (less fallout), have more buildable pigmentation (almost opaque), and actually go longer than a few hours before there was a near-constant drop of glitter into the eyes. Some of the other shades were more usable dry, even if they always did the best with a dampened brush/adhesive product, but I just didn’t find this to work remotely well on its own and should have only been marketed to be used with something to hold it.

Formula Overview

$26.00/0.08 oz. - $325.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "buildable, blendable, [and] light-reflective" and can be used on the eyes, face, and body. The brand says that they can be applied with "brush or fingers," and while they say that "for cleaner application and stronger hold, wet brush with" an adhesive spray, it does imply it can be used without for less clean/less hold. The powders seem as finely-milled as they're going to get, but they have micro-sparkle and sparkle to them so they have a drier, almost loose glittery texture overall. Some shades seemed to have a stronger base color that came through than others, which were more glittery overall with a sheerer or transparent base.

I wore several of them on cheeks as well as eyes with most shades performing decently without an adhesive spray/tacky base, but the wear time was between six and eight hours with light to moderate fallout (depending on the shade) on eyes and eight hours on cheeks with some sparkle migration over time. I definitely would recommend using the product with an adhesive spray for the "cleaner application and stronger hold" the brand says it would result in.
