Urban Decay Noise & Wavelength Lo-Fi Lip Mousse Reviews & Swatches
Noise
Urban Decay Noise Lo-Fi Lip Mousse ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, fuchsia pink with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had buildable coverage from semi-sheer to full coverage in two to three layers. The texture felt clay-like in the pot–movable but not wet–and applied as a thin, more powder-like layer of product that clung noticeably but didn’t actually feel drying over time. This shade emphasized my lip texture slightly but from afar, it wasn’t noticeable. The color applied evenly and blended easily across my lips. It wore well for six hours, was non-drying, and did not seem to break down with water.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.12 oz. - $183.33 Per Ounce
Per the brand, the formula is supposed to be "weightless, buildable, [and] waterproof" with a "velvety soft finish that feels like you're wearing nothing." The consistency of the product inside the compact feels like clay--it's drier but malleable, movable with a fingertip that will create a dip while moving the product upward to the outer edge. It feels like a powder when the product gets applied to the lips, which has a drier, clingier feeling, though I wouldn't consider it a drying formula--it was quite lightweight and non-drying over time. A few shades emphasized the natural texture of my lips quite noticeably (Halo being the worst offender) but others applied well and looked like a blotted, matte lipstick. The lipsticks lasted between three and six hours; they do seem to be waterproof and don't break down with drinking water or hot tea, but they don't survive through meals that well.
Each compact opens up with a mirror inside, and there's a doe-foot applicator that removes from the center portion of the compact for on-the-go application. I was not personally enthused with the doe-foot applicator as I found it only useful for getting the cupid's bow but not particularly useful for even application all over my lips. I preferred to use a fingertip to distribute the most product initially and then use the included applicator to get around the edges. For medium coverage, I recommend patting color in three pats on the upper and lower lip, then lightly brush the fingertip across the lips to blend out the product. For sheerer coverage, try patting color along the center of the lips and then rubbing lips together to diffuse the coverage.

Wavelength
Urban Decay Wavelength Lo-Fi Lip Mousse ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium purple with warm, pink undertones and a matte finish. It had buildable pigmentation that ranged from sheer to semi-opaque. The color applied fairly evenly, but the finish emphasized my lip lines and lip texture, which gave my lips a drier, slightly shriveled appearance. The product felt clay-like in the pot, where it was movable as a whole but did not feel wet or creamy. On my lips, it was more like a thin powder. It lasted for four and a half hours, and it did not seem to break down when I drank water.

Noise *looks* really good, but I think that MAC Dangerously Red would look better on me. Funny, it’s been on my WL forever, but I still haven’t bought it yet!
Both are great shades! Couldn’t go wrong with either.
Noise looks less drying than some of these.
I really like the look of these. I know that they emphasize texture, but I feel like give a ‘natural’ look. It reminds me of the way Dakota Johnson’s lips looked in the 50 shades of Grey movie…we knew she was wearing lipstick but it was seamless and I feel I can get the same effect with these?
Some of them just seem like they let the natural texture come through… for better or worse, so it would be quite natural in that respect, IMO! A few seem to enhance but not all!
