Becca Vanilla Quartz Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Review, Photos, Swatches
Vanilla Quartz
Becca Vanilla Quartz Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a light, white gold with a pearly sheen. If it sounds familiar, it’s because the brand released it in a mini version earlier this year. Becca hasn’t always been consistent in quality, so I bought the full-sized when it launched to see how it performed (it was consistent!).
The powder was smooth, soft without being too powdery nor was it too firmly pressed in the pan, and it was blendable on the skin. It had excellent pigmentation that could be applied with a lighter hand for less coverage or applied with a moderate hand for more intense coverage. It sat well on my skin and did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview

The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula is described as having an "ultra-reflective shine" with a "creamy" texture that "applies seamlessly." In general, the texture of the highlighters is incredibly smooth, silky, and finely-milled with frosted to metallic finishes and the occasional more sparkly finish.
They tend to have a high-shine, more metallic finish and are a stronger highlighter, so they are going to be best suited to someone who likes an obvious highlight over a very subtle one. That being said, with a fan brush and a deft hand, one could certainly achieve a subtler, all-over luminosity as well, but if one takes a typical, tapered highlighting brush, there will be quite a bit of pigment and highlight on the skin.
I find that some shades can emphasize the look of pores slightly to moderately, depending on application. They tend to last between eight to nine hours on me.

A really flattering shade and it’s good to see the brand produce consistent quality in their products.
It is a lovely shade!
Well, I’m glad it’s the same quality as the mini version that I picked up. This texture pattern was reserved for the LE powder so since this is permanent I wonder if we will see the rest of the line get the gem facet texture as well. 😉
Here’s hoping! I thought it was strange, too, but Sephora didn’t mark it as LE!
I hauled this one along with Prismatic Amethyst & Rose Quartz, and they were all listed together, with none being listed as LE. They all have the same faceted surface, along with color-coordinated packaging-which is quite convenient! My *guess* is that these aren’t necessarily LE, but more like “limited life”, and will be around for a decent amount of time.
This is beautiful and should work well on my super pale skin. Not sure I need another highlighter but since this has a golden undertone but is really pale it might work for me. I have and use Pearl on almost a daily basis, even if I use something else with it but don’t always want a silver/white highlight. This would be nice.
I bet it would be pretty on fair skin, Deborah!
Sounds good for you, go for it.
Hi Christine,
How would you compare it to Cle De Peau highlighter or the hourglass strobe palette? Also in your experience which highlighting powder is least likely to emphasize skin texture and pores. Thanks!
I don’t think that this is comparable to either… Becca highlighters are more extreme/intense.
So glad to see that the quality is consistent! Plus, it’s permanent, too. Something about white-gold highlighters like this one and the Fenty Metal Moon highlighter are just perfect for adding a ray of light to ones cheekbones!
Love this one, it’s very similar to Moonstone but a bit more holographic (in a subtle way!) Glad I got the mini because I could never finish a highlighter!
I like this a lot! It’s gorgeous and would be really nice on fair skin.
I’m so intrigued by this! With my pale skin, I purchased Pearl a few years ago, but sometimes it can be a little stark! This looks like it would be perfect!
I loved this color so much that I ended up buying a second mini – I was getting close to hitting pan on the first one, and I didn’t want to risk them not making it permanent!!
Oh, I really like that one! I might need it.
I’ve had my eye on this…I have a hard time finding the right shade for my light skin. I love Becca highliters though and OFRA too.
