Vanilla Quartz

Becca Vanilla Quartz Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter Mini ($19.00 for 0.085 oz.) is a pale, white gold with warm, yellow undertones and a luminous sheen. The highlighter had excellent color payoff in a single layer with a soft, smooth, and blendable consistency that made it easy to apply to the skin and diffuse along the edges. It was soft without being dusty or powdery, which made it controllable–I could apply less and get sheerer coverage if desired. The finish on this particular shade was slightly less intense compared to the average Becca pressed highlighter but still a moderate highlighter when worn at medium or greater coverage. It felt a touch looser in the pan compared to most of the brand’s highlighters but sat well on the skin and lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview

$19.00/0.085 oz. - $223.53 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have a "high-shine" finish that "doesn't look glittery" and is blendable with an "intense highlight." The Minis were similar in color and performance to the full-sized shades, but the texture of the Minis seemed ever-so-slightly looser and not as cream-like to the touch. I just didn't feel like that discrepancy wasn't meaningful when I went to apply, blend out, or as the powders wore on the skin throughout the day. They were pigmented, easy to blend out, and had luminous to metallic finishes.

In terms of value, the full-sized highlighters retail for $38.00 and contain 0.28 oz. or cost $135.71/oz., so the minis contain $11.54 worth of product. On the other hand, a mini costs half the price of a full-sized; always keep in mind your usage habits and whether you're someone who will, in fact, use the full highlighter or whether you'd rather spend half the money and still get year(s) of use out of the mini.

Hmm, on their website it seems like this is described as having more of a pink pearl shift to it. This is very vanilla ice creamy…so true to the name I guess. I am thinking it may be a bit yellow for me…it looked so pretty on their website though. It does seem nice and wintery though:)

I had my eye on this, but it’s a lot more yellow-toned than I was expecting! Becca’s instagram page and Sephora’s site describe it as having a pink pearl to it, but I’m not seeing it… it still looks like a beautiful highlight, but light pink highlighters are more flattering on me personally. ? oh well, saved $19!

I bought this the second it was available on Sephora.com – I’m away from home so I haven’t swatched it or seen it yet but…I’m bummed this is so close to Nars Albatross, I could never pull that one off and had to throw away the full size. It looked so different in the swatch Becca posted on Instagram as a teaser!

Just tried it today, I LOVE it. My new favorite highlight. Will need a backup – it doesn’t wear on me like Albatross at all (which was whitish-green cast). It pulls a pink shift on me, much like MAC lightscapade, but Vanilla Quartz is much creamier.

I jumped the gun on this one. I normally wait for your reviews, but it was finally in stock and I wanted it. I am really glad I ordered this. On my fair olive skin, it has a definite warm hue, like very lightly toasted meringue. The texture is lovely and smooth. I’ve never even dipped a highlighter, so travel size is still a lifetime supply.

This is really pretty and it does look like a good winter highlighter. I’m cool-to-neutral so I think it’ll work well for me with the right looks. These minis are great because I’ve had some highlighters for years with barley a dent in them. More minis, please!

I have it and it has a pretty obvious baby pink shift to it. In the pan it looks like it would be lighter than moonstone, but again, coz of the pink shift it seem just an iiiiiiiiiiitty bitty darker than moonstone. I love it, it will be perfect for the winter.
If I had to choose between the two, moonstone would be the winner of course, it’s more universal than this new pinkish version of it, but if you have cool-toned, fair/light skin, Vanilla Quartz could be a jackpot for you:)

Hi Christine,

How does this compare to ‘Snowlit’ from the Estee edit glow palette? Some of the swatches look similar to me but when I read the product descriptions they sound different.
