Sneak Peek: Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palettes Photos & Swatches
Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.21 oz.) includes seven eyeshadows across four finishes (velvet, satin, silk, and lame). It’s supposed to be an entirely new eyeshadow formula (which does replace the previous Style-Con palettes). There are six variations, though only five are available for purchase at the moment (the sixth I haven’t seen come in stock yet at all). Please use the links below to jump to the palette quickly as the post is quite long!

That cobalt blue shade really speaks to me! I’ll be hunting on this palette just for that one shade only!
Check out UD Chaos. It’s a gorgeous bright cobalt blue.
Will do! Thanks for the recommendation, Brenda!
I loved the original formula for these but not all the shade selections in the old palettes. I really love these new shades in the new palettes!! I ordered three to get started, but I have a feeling that I will soon need them all!!! The purple palette is still a mystery…Its shades look great too!! I can’t wait to read your full review!!
Your photos and swatches look lovely, but I think they look even better in person. I have all five o the palettes shown here in your review, and I am stalking the Sephora website daily in order to purchase the sixth as soon as Sephora stocks it. I haven’t had a chance to play with all of them, but I think these may actually be nicer than the originals! At the very least, they are on par.
I’ve had my eye on the Syle-Con palettes for quite a while as well as the big holiday palettes MJ releases. I’ve never bought any because I didn’t want to start including another brand in my collection (because then I’d feel like I’d need to buy all the things), but I love the layout/packaging of these, like the colors, and the palette seems easy enough for me to work with what shades go where. I like the sleekness and packaging of the brand as a whole and that is always the first thing that draws me in, but the quality seems to be there also. Packaging + quality and I’m in trouble. I’m on the fence! I’m looking forward to the reviews. 🙂
I think the shade names are kind of an odd choice — the way you can read them all together as a longer phrase/sentence across each palette. IDK, maybe I’m just old and cranky, but it strikes me as overly precious. But maybe that’s what they’re going for! MJB does veer into twee territory at times…
Uh oh, these look pretty decent/good! I love how he came out with some cooler toned palettes too! And some very nice, versatile color combos. I don’t have any MJ shadows yet, so looking forward to your thoughts.
Your swatches are great, thank you! I ordered Provocouture and Scandalust and both just arrived. Some of the colors are a bit patchy so I hope they perform well on the eye.
Hahaha…love how the shade names form phrases! The first linguistic shadow palettes. Go, mjb. Provocouture and Smartotial catching my eye. Though as,arterial doesn’t look anything like the Glades palette, like I thought. It it is the most cool of the group.
Smartorial. Verdammt autocorrect.
Scandalust is STUNNING!!!!!! oh my gosh!
Provocateur and Edgitorial are perfect for my eye color and coloring! Love both bunches! Also, even though I’ve got neutrals coming out of my ears, I’m also very drawn to Glambition! ?
And here I’m *trying* to be on a low buy until I move in January when my lease is up….?
So pretty! I like Provocateur and Scandalust!
Some of these colours are gorgeous (the first one just whispers “autumn” to me in a non-stop beckoning!). I know the original shadows were fairly “iffy” in quality, especially in light of the prices, so I’ll be eager to see if these perform well enough to justify the hefty cost ($64 in Canada – highway robbery, IMO!). I really love the names of the palettes too – clever and witty plays on words.
Can’t wait to hear the reviews!
Is anyone laughing at the shade name stories? 😉 That’s cute! I could be an idiot but I don’t remember the other palettes making up sentences stories like this. I think Scandalous might be the first palette I’ll pick up later in the year from this brand.
My favorite is the purple pink palette, but I’m sure I have dupes for all of the shades in it. This looks like a nice collection of color pairings, though some of the swatches seem lacking.
I love the shade names!!! The eye shadows themselves look like they are performing so-so. The last palette is definitely my favorite, though I think I already have dupes of all of them. Those shades all work great for one wash of color eye looks.
The packaging is gorgeous and Smartorial is calling my name.but scandaldust is very nice too heck they are all nice!
Not sure I have so many shadows.
These look fantastic! Even the blues look great. Provoculture is my favorite. I love the naming scheme: Very clever. 🙂
I have never purchased any Marc Jacobs eyeshadows before. I really like the colors and looks of these palettes so I got three – Egitorial (Green), Smartorial (Blue) & Scandalust (Copper). I received the first two and immediately dived in. Was I “shook”! Their quality is comparable to Natasha Denona’s eyeshadow palettes, some might even say better than hers because there is no fallout, not even with the metallic and shimmery shades. The mattes are so pigmented and buttery, they are a real joy to use. The blue is a true Cobalt Blue, stunning and rare. The only caveat about these palettes, if you can call it that, is that the eyeshadows are ultra pigmented. You have to use a very, very light hand or you will look “overdone”. Got my eyes on the Purple palette, can’t wait for it to come out!
These palettes all look stunning ! Wow ‘. I will wait for reviews before considering however . Repeat after me, I do not need more eyeshadow , I do not need more eyeshadow .,..,,
I’m so envious of people who’ve already received these! Can’t wait for the reviews 😀
I think you missed a shade from the smartorial palette. Thanks for the swatches, they look really pretty x
I have 2 of the original formula palettes and a 20 pan palette. I’m disappointed in the colors of the new palettes. Although lovely, they are so similar to prior MJB palettes that I can’t justify the purchase. The old formula was really good. Can anyone who has both comment on if they feel there is a noticeable difference?
I am really impressed with the color selection of these palettes. They are cohesive and still fun, without being 7 shades of blue or 7 shades of pink.
I’m not getting the hype. Cute names don’t make up for two pale shades, a blend out shade that isn’t impressive and a patchy dark shade. They are pretty meh, especially for $50 a pop.
Provocoutur is calling my name although I’m pretty positive Colourpop Belle of the Ball palette is a dupe.
Was the (for once) swatch in the Smartorial palette left out?
Oh my gosh – I just read the shade names (first for Glambition, and then for the rest) and they each read like a sentence/statement: “She was known for seeking the most over the top glamour” and “Whenever in doubt, power platforms make sure they know who runs the show” and the one about “hotpants at the office” – these are so delightful and remind me of the poetry plaques embedded in the sidewalks in my neighbourhood!!! If they weren’t so darned pricey, I’d get them all just for this idea/concept alone.
Yep, that’s actually how the brand named it – they are supposed to be a short poem! 🙂
I love the eye look you did for Provocouture! It looks awesome!
Ooh, I wasn’t sure if you were going to review these, but I’m glad you are! I’ve been eyeing Smartorial. I’m a little concerned that Make Sure seems to swatch a little darker and warmer than I was expecting, but maybe it will be different on the eyes.
I want them all! Pretty! Glambition, Provocotour and Scandalous. 🙂
