MAC Faux Sure & Telling Glow Extra Dimension Blushes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Faux Sure
MAC Faux Sure Extra Dimension Blush ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium-dark, rusty copper with warm, red undertones and fine, gold and pink pearl. It appeared redder in the pan as well as applied on my cheeks, especially as I blended and diffused the powder, whereas when swatched, it appeared browner. The consistency was smooth, just a smidgen dry, but it remained blendable and easy to work with as a blush. It had opaque coverage that wore well for nine hours before fading.
The Extra Dimension Blush formula is supposed to have “long-wearing colour with prismatic reflections” that wears for “10 hours.” The formula is typically very pigmented with a soft, smooth texture that’s firmer in the pan but not difficult to use–I had no issues grabbing color with even my softest brushes–and has no dustiness or powderiness in the pan. The blushes are usually blendable with a luminous glow on the cheeks that did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. With MAC’s newly-added permanent shades, the wear time has ranged from eight to ten hours.

Telling Glow
MAC Telling Glow Extra Dimension Blush ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a bright, medium orange-coral with warm, red undertones and gold shimmer. It had good pigmentation that was buildable to opaque coverage in two layers. It appeared incredibly orange in the pan, but it was much pinker/redder in practice–both swatched on my arm as well as blended out on my cheeks. The powder felt incredibly smooth on its surface, but it wasn’t so soft that it became dusty or powdery in the pan. There was just a fantastic balance between soft and blendable, pigmented and versatile. This shade wore well for nine and a half hours on me.

Telling Glow is such a perfect summer color! Oh these are going to be really hard to resist.
Agreed!
very deceptive in pan, but I like both, particularly Faux Sure.
That seems to be the way with some of the more metallic/shimmery powders in general (often lighter, sometimes more nuanced) – but I think the pattern creates some of the illusion/difference in color perception.
I like both shades, with a leaning to Faux Sure as a different shade in my collection. I’m shocked at how beautiful these blushes are! I rarely give MAC much consideration outside of their lip products and paint pots. I might need to pay closer attention if they continue to come out with quality products like this!
There are some really, really gorgeous shades in the new line-up!
Telling Glow was first on my list to get but I can’t find it ANYWHERE!!!!!
So I ended up getting a couple of others while I was for it….Into the Pick, Just a Pinch, Rosy Cheeks and Cheeky Bits. They’re all gorgeous, but I am most excited for Telling Glow.
Have you heard anything about when it might be in stock?
I haven’t heard any specific dates yet!
Best product that I’ve seen from MAC in months!! Great quality, gorgeous looking colors/finishes, AND permanent!
They did an amazing job with these!
Ah these both look so pretty! I’ve been checking the MAC website every day for these two to be available but they still say coming soon 🙁
I hope they arrive shortly!
Telling Glow looks AMAZING! Very glad that it isn’t orange applied like the pan would suggest, because that would look awful on me. Seeing the shade it becomes in actual practice made me put it on my WL!
Faux Sure is a stunner, too. But I’ve gotten a super similar shade on my cheeks using either both the Taraji cheek products or using just Highlight The Truth with Clinique Cola Pop, so buying this would be redundant.
Some of these made me do a double take swatched, lol!
I love Telling Glow. MAC has been knocking it out of the park with this release.
That’s a lovely one!
I like both but Faux Sure is almost the exact color of my lightly sunburned skin so it might be nice for really “fresh” and “outdoorsy” looks.
There ya go 😉 Without the pain!
I love the color of Faux Sure but MAC uses carmine in a lot of their red colors, which would be a deal breaker for me, since I would use this color as an eye shadow.
Photo of ingredients is here: http://www.temptalia.com/product/mac-cosmetics-extra-dimension-blush/
(MAC just has one blanket ingredient list, so I don’t shoot the same box infinitely, just once.)
Such a gorgeous range! I’ll have to pick some of these up the next time MAC has a sale!
Hope you can try some of them, Stephanie!
Another couple of good quality blushes to add to the range.
They are!
I am SO excited about these!! It’s so nice to see a MAC release that has WOC in mind. All of the shades you’ve reviewed so far looks perfect for brown skin. Go MAC!
I feel like they DEFINITELY kept other skin tones in mind with these!! And I’m so glad the richer shades still blended well!
I too love these shades, but have you swatched these Fancie? I did and found I had to build up the shade to get the color payoff, but when I did the shimmer was too intense. I regretfully passed on these. I was really excited for them too. Perhaps I’ll go back and give it another try.
This is such a great line of blushes! Not only are the colours really appealing, they all seem to perform well!
They have been doing well so far!
both lovely indeed
Agreed!
These are pretty too – I ordered ‘Cheeky Bits’ but it is on backorder – they will send when they receive new stock. I ordered through your site, Christine!
Thank you for the support, Deborah! xo
Finally a MAC release that’s just straight up hits – no caveats, no fails! I hope this MAC release inspires Clinique to do more Cheek Pops.
Woohoo!!
