Skintone / coloring : light, NC 20, med brown hair and eyes
Most loved product : I picked up Tom Ford’s Blush in Wicked at the CCO. Temptation got the better of me and gave it a try. Have to say I really like. A beautiful sheer fruit punch color with a nice sheen. Perfect for Spring
Most used: ABH Brow Wiz, Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara, Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer, Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder, Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black perfume, MAC eyeshadows in Vanilla, Jest and Soba. Plus my new Tom Ford Blush in Wicked.
New beauty discoveries : Tom Ford Blush in Wicked and some Bumble and Bumble haircare products. A beach spray and styling creme.
God I LOVE Tom Ford’s Wicked blush and Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black! What a great week you’ve had!
I am literally obsessed with both!
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Most loved product of the week: UD Basquiat collection
Most used product of the week: I didn’t wear makeup this week, as I was ill. Lip balm in general, I suppose.
Any new beauty discoveries?: No
Skin tone: Medium Warm (MAC NC30, Lancome Bisque 330 warm, Luminous Silk 5.75, Born This Way Natural Beige)
Most loved product of the week: My most loved tool of the week is the Chikuhodo T-1 powder brush. For make up I would choose Urban Decay’s Dive Bar eye shadow and NAR’S lip tint in Ephelide.
Most used product of the week: My skin was in crisis after having a peel so my most-used products were the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum and Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair.
New beauty discoveries: The NAR’S lip tint formula was a total surprise. I generally do not like light weight products on my lips but these feel so good and are so easy to use. The color Ephelide is just such a pretty color too.
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool-toned
Most loved product of the week: good ol’ MAC Craving lipstick. After a long day at the hospital (several trips, actually), I caught sight of myself in the mirror and my lips still had really nice MLBB colour on them and I looked pretty good, I thought
Most used product of the week: MAC Love Thing blush
Any new beauty discoveries?: Yay, yay, yay, MAC had received more Extra Dimension blushes and I was torn between Sweet Cheeks (I think that’s the name) and Wrapped Candy (ditto on the name). I opted for Sweet Cheeks as Wrapped Candy turned surprisingly warm on me but I’ll probably buy it next week in any case!
okay, NOT Sweet Cheeks (I guess I was mixing it up with Sweets for My Sweet) – ROSY Cheeks. It’s so lovely looking but my face is still too flushed from working out at the gym to apply it.
Craving is one of my favorites!
My skin tone/coloring: light to medium, MAC NC 23ish/GA LSUVF 5.5/EL Double Wear 2N1/Tom Ford TPF Bisque or Linen
Most loved product of the week: MAC pre-made palettes – I love the formulations because I’d never put those colors together but I’ve been liking the combos in the rows.
Most used product of the week: Colour Pop Molly and MAC Men Love Mystery
Any new beauty discoveries?: Just how great rose-hip oil can be! If I’m dry or tight, a few drops of that and everything is plumped and normal again.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair/cool
Most loved product of the week: I think that has to go to my By Terry Glow Expert Stick in Amber Light; I love it so much I picked up Terra Rosa today.
Most used product of the week: I’ve been really enjoying the La Mer foundation and getting a lot of compliments on my skin. Always a good sign for how your foundation is wearing.
Any new beauty discoveries?: I got to test out the new Summer collection for Chantecaille today – eye trio palette, highlighter and Lip Sleeks. The only things I didn’t try were the face trio palette and liquid bronzer. Everything I did try out I bought – all 5 lip colors – and will pick up next week when it arrives. My only regret is that I couldn’t bring them home with me today; especially the Lip Sleeks!
My skin tone/colouring: porcelain with pink undertones
Most loved product of the week: Lorac Pro Palette – beautiful shades
Most used product of the week: UD Naked 2 is back in rotation and a Shiseido night cream that I received a sample of is pretty good too.
Any new beauty discoveries?: My MAC Fresh Moroccan lipstick.
My skin tone/coloring: Might medium, yellow undertone.
Most loved product of the week: Mizon Acence Mark-X Blemish After Cream!
Most used product of the week: Lioele Triple The Solution BB Cream.
Any new beauty discoveries?: 16 Brand Peach Soda Cleansing Balm – smells delicious, super effective at removing makeup and reasonably priced.
Am gradually trying out Korean brands and have not been disappointed!
What do you think about the bicarb based cleansing balm and all the info about low pH cleansing to maintain the acid mantle?
My gen’l impression is that KB gives more bang for the buck; a DS level K product is more likely to be more effective than as US product. I spent many decades using ineffective, poorly formulated EXPENSIVE HIGH END American and French skincare. Not smart, but who knew about the pH level required for effective acid formulation then? Not me. Access to KB/AB products is improving weekly. For info, I have liked Jude Chao’s 50 shades of snail and Snow White and the Asian Pear, who seems to be on hiatus right now. But if you’re geeky about it (spreadsheets, tracking, ratings/comparisons) the latter is a good place to go. There is a wealth of info in past posts, which are all available. Personal fave is cosrx(some at Ulta, Amazon, Memebox, etc) and some TDF products from Mizon, esp. snail recovery gel cream, which most love. It’s a fun journey, filled with knowledge.
Hi kjh,
I don’t have access to a whole range of Korean products – I’m in New Zealand so I am pretty much limited to Mecca and on-line shopping but I have really enjoyed the few products I have used. Thanks for the recs!
Haven’t heard much about bicarb cleansing but basic chemistry says bicarb will act as a neutraliser to both acids and bases so I don’t know that it will be super effective at maintaining skin pH at 5.5. But I will investigate further 🙂
My skin tone/coloring: fair neutral
Most loved product of the week: Too Faced’s better than sex mascara! I initially found it to smudge too much, but over time as it has dried out a little bit, I find that it does so a lot less and it just makes perfect lashes – so full and long!
Most used product of the week: Anastasia Lip Gloss in Vintage – never thought of myself as a gloss person, but I wore this one every single day this week because it’s just so comfortable and super long-lasting for a gloss.
Any new beauty discoveries?: Colourpop pressed shadows – my order arrived, unfortunately it seems like one of the metallics I got is a dud, but I especially love the mattes!
