Vanilla

Anastasia Vanilla Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.059 oz.) is a very light beige with a hint of warmth paired with a matte finish. It had good color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin, and it was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was soft, a little dusty, but blendable and did not appear dry or powdery on my lids. It did have a tendency to sheer out a bit, so a primer would help improve opacity if one wanted to wear it as a lid shade. It wore well for seven hours on me before starting to fade.

Formula Overview

$12.00/0.06 oz. - $200.00 Per Ounce

Anastasia Eyeshadow is supposed to be a “finely-milled, highly-pigmented” powder eyeshadow. There are several different finishes, and the performance can be better or worse depending on the finish, though it also ranges from shade to shade. On average, the formula is semi-opaque to opaque, lightly dusty to buttery, wears seven to nine hours, and is fairly blendable. The Metallic and Titanium finishes seem to be the best-performing to me, but there are some really standout mattes and shimmers as well. I have not tried the sparkle, satin, or velvet finishes as extensively as the other finishes, personally.

Fresh

Anastasia Fresh Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.059 oz.) is a light beige with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow was incredibly silky and smooth–almost creamy as there was hardly any powderiness–that was very easy to blend out on the skin. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and lasted for seven and a half hours.

Cream

Anastasia Cream Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.059 oz.) is a soft, light-medium beige with warm, peach undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, finely-milled texture that wasn’t too soft or too firm in the pan. It could be sheered out as well as packed on, so it was a versatile shade. It wore well for seven and a half hours on bare skin.

Soft Peach

Anastasia Soft Peach Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.059 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly to the lid. The eyeshadow blended out a little too much too quickly without a primer, so to retain true-to-pan intensity and full coverage, I would recommend using a primer underneath it. The texture was soft, smooth, and just a touch dusty in the pan but did not have a lot of fallout in practice. The color started to look faded after seven hours of wear.

Legend

Anastasia Legend Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.059 oz.) is a soft, light-medium golden yellow with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had rich pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin. The consistency was soft without being powdery, and the eyeshadow blended with ease but did not lose its intensity. This shade wore well for just shy of eight hours on me.

Gold Bar

Anastasia Gold Bar Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.059 oz.) is a muted, medium gold with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It’s almost like a “cool-toned” gold without being green-tinged. The texture was slightly dry in the pan, so there was a bit of dustiness to the eyeshadow, but it applied with good coverage and didn’t sheer out too readily, while it still blended out nicely along the edges. It didn’t start to fade until after seven and a half hours of wear.

Christine – where did you find the ABH in Cream ? Ulta, Sephora and Macys don’t have it . I guess I could order from the ABH site but trying to save on shipping . Thanks !

I love the first four!! I ALWAYS set my eye primer with a matte light shade close to my personal skintone, It keeps my shadows from transferring onto my hood, and It makes it SO much easier to blend out my crease shades.

So that means I’m always looking for light matte shades, as i’m constantly running out of them. After falling in love with the formula in the MR palette, I’ll have to order some ABH singles soon!!

I have it in a palette with Inglot 422 as the 2 look so nice together (422 on the outer third of the mobile lid and crease) but I also like wearing it all over my “mobile lid” with ABH Smoke in the crease. I’ve got a lot shadows very similar to Legend because it’s the sort of colour I like for a quick and easy look with something very neutral in the crease and up toward my browbone to minimize my “droop” (something like MAC Cork or Soba or UD Tyranny or Naked that blends away to nothingness)
