MAC Gana Blush Review, Photos, Swatches (Mickey Contractor)
MAC Gana Blush
MAC Mickey Contractor: Gana Blush
MAC Gana Blush ($18.50 for 0.21 oz.) is new and limited edition blush from MAC Mickey Contractor. MAC describes it as a “bright white gold” with a frost finish. When I swatched, I found Gana to be a gilded champagne with a bright sheen–slightly frosty but more of a sheen. I like it better as a highlighter than a blush, just because it seems to make me look a bit washed out when used as a blusher. It has a very soft, smooth texture and plenty of pigment.
I’ll have to do a comparison to be sure, but this seems similar to Trace Gold, which is part of the permanent line; the biggest difference seems in the texture–this is smoother, more sheen than shimmer.
P.S. — On eyes, I am wearing Jaan eyeshadow on the lid, Vivah eyeshadow on the outer lid/crease, Folie in the crease, Burberry Trench to highlight, Ivy fluidline on upper lash line, Urban Decay Perversion on lower water line, Jaan eyeshadow on lower lash line. On lips, I am wearing Yash lipstick with Lust lipglass on top. On cheeks, I am wearing Gana blush.
MAC Mickey Contractor will be available on January 6th at select North American stores and January 2011 for select international stores. It will be available online on approximately January 4th but may not be available until the 6th.

FINAL THOUGHTS: If you sheer it out enough, it could work as a very soft, all-over-glow kind of product, but it is easier to use it as a highlighter where you need it.

How does it compare to Too Chic BP?
It’s more beige, less powdery – closer to Chez Chez Lame I’d say.
Thanks! I think I might get it.
Between Gana blush and Chez Chez Lame, which would serve as a better highlighter?
Gana, IMO.
Boring. Looks more like Casper style blush, imo. LOL I would rather have Shimpagne or New Vegas MSFs
I was waiting for this collection for a while, but now looking at all the swatches, I am a little disappointed.
LOVE that lip combo on you!
I don’t tend to comment, but I have to say, I find it helpful that you’ve been including a list of the products you’re wearing lately. That way if something catches my eye, I know what it is. A little off topic, I know, but still.
Thanks!
I was anxiously looking forward to this collection review, It absolutely suits you. I am quite a regular to your site, and honestly, this is one of your very best looks. Very Pretty.
SO I just saw this wonderful look you did using a few of the tartan tale lip products and my lights went out and I lost the page. Your look made me want to go back and buy the lipstick and gloss but I don’t remember what they are, Maybe faire glen was one?
Hmm, I am not sure… because I did not do a look for Tartan Tale! 🙁
I don’t know why they call this a blush. You could really only use it as a highlighter. It’s so pale and frosty.
I was about to say the same thing!! This wouldn’t be a blush on even the pastiest girl (i.e. me) but as a highlighter it does look pretty.
This seems like a really pretty highhlight! How would this compare to By Candlelight MSF, Christine? Thanks in advanced!♥
It doesn’t compare, IMO! By Candlelight is a lot pinker/dirtier.
How would you compare it in terms of color with CCB Hush?
Less pink.
Glad to see the swatches. Saved me some $. Thanks doll
I would never use this colour as a blush, I think I would use it as highlighter… but I already own a few MSF’s
Might be the only product i’ll be getting from this collection. I’m pretty sure this will be an amazing highlighter for my skintone!
Hey CHristine how about comparison with Nars Albatross 🙂
Hi Jessie,
Please wait for comparisons – I have to have a chance to go through the products, past products, etc. and come up with a list of them. Thank you!
Your Make-Up looks great 🙂 You totally nailed that Bollywood-concept 🙂
Thank you, Lilac!
I think it’ll look great on dark-skinned ladies. Its not a blush for everyone but definitely a good blush!
Is that really a blush? It looks like a very light highlighter.
Well, it is a powder blush – that’s the product name 🙂
I don’t like this collection at all, nothing really new , the colours are too dark for me, not my style at all
which is better between Chez Chez Lame and Gana ?? as a highlighter?
i dont want something too powdery(?) and just make my skin glow but looks like as if i m not wearing any powder.. so that dead skin cells and pores don’t stand out. i don’t have dark skin but i m not white
can u give comparison between the two?
I like Gana better! 🙂
hey! i think this would be a great highlighter. but i have VERY light skin so i dont know if it wouldn’t be a little too dark for me as a highlighter?!
No way!
Oh wow. It looks like it would be a really amazing highlighter. Blush, not so much.
Christine love ur lips what are u wearing?
