Bite Beauty Edgy Neutrals Amuse Bouche Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Enoki
Bite Beauty Enoki Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a light, peachy brown with warmer, yellow undertones and a satin finish. The color coverage was fully opaque in one pass, while the lipstick had a smooth, lightweight texture that applied without dragging or skipping on the lip. It did not have too much slip, though, so it adhered well and did not slide around. I noticed a bit of color that sunk into my lip lines after two hours of wear, while the total wear time was closer to four and a half hours.
The Amuse Bouche formula is supposed to have a “soft texture” with “extreme moisture” and “bold, creamy” color. It’s a denser, very pigmented formula that is lightly to moderately hydrating, lasts four to six hours (on average), and applies evenly with a lightweight texture that has a creamy look but doesn’t slide around easily. The formula is citrus-scented.

Formula Overview
$26.00/0.15 oz. - $173.33 Per Ounce
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable.
The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamy with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They have a herbal, lemony scent but no discernible taste. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.

Porcini
Bite Beauty Porcini Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium, yellowed brown with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had bold, opaque color payoff that covered the lips evenly. The texture was lightweight, creamy without being slippery, and glided on without tugging on the lips. It wore well for five hours and had a touch of color that pulled into my lip lines over time, but the formula was nicely hydrating while worn.

Portobello
Bite Beauty Portobello Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a dark brown with warm, yellow undertones and a cream finish. It had a bit of shine that wore down to a satin-to-matte finish after a few hours of wear. Enoki looks like what I wanted MAC Naturally Transformed to be. Maybe a little bit less yellow? I like Naturally Transformed because it’s pretty unique for a nude, but it’s such a strange shade to pull off…needs brown liner underneath.
It might work – I think it is not quite as stark in a way.
These are too brown for me, but I imagine for POC they will be lovely nudes! I would have to do an ombre lip with them.
An ombre lip would be a great way to use them!
Unusual shades! I think these either work for you or they don’t.
True – they are more unique!
these colors are so different I’m not sure I like them:)
They are harder to dupe, so that’s always fun to see, at least!
Okay….yellow toned lipstick will never look right on me. Like literally. Never. I’ve got 57, nearly 58 y.o. teeth and am an avid coffee and tea drinker. Add to this, I’ve got olive undertones w/peach overtones. Nope. Not gonna happen. ☕
But for those who CAN rock these, they sure do have some lovely quality!
I hear ya, Nancy! These are tough shades for me to wear as well.
Same here Nancy!!! I’m also olive and peach (such a weird combo but that sounds exactly like my skin) and as much as I love unusual and unique lip colors I don’t think I could pull these off well. Just too yellow for me.
OH MY Porcini, cermini and portobello are so dangon GORGEOUS!! porcini tho, that’s like a major wow! I have to go pick that up!
Let me know how you like Porcini on your skin tone, Mo!
These would all look horrid on me. But this is reminding me how much I adore the formula!!
The Amuse Bouche formula is a winner!
While I’m sure these heavily yellow undertoned lipsticks will work well for some skin tones & faces, they would look dreadful on me! Still, I’m always happy when companies choose to make colors and shades that are outside of the box. So Yay! for diversity! 🙂
Me too — I feel like we do not see enough yellowish browns, so it is nice to see some!
Not for me! They look wonderful on others I’m sure!
Totally understand 😀
love portobello on you !
thought of colourpop’s tansy when i saw it , so it was a nice surprise seeing it on the dupe list .
i like that portobello is more yellow toned . that’s what i was hoping tansy would be .
Thank you, Nicole! 🙂
I really like how these look on you Christine! I want to get one but I think it’s one of those shades that one must try on once to see if it will work for them or not.
Thanks a lot, Amirah!
I agree – if you haven’t tried anything similar, they may be best to swatch in person!
Whilst I am into brown lipsticks, I am not really liking these for some reason – too yellowy? Not sure.
Yes, these will definitely be best for those who like a stronger yellow undertone in their browns!
Yeesh. These are not pretty. :/
Different strokes for different folks — just like some think red lipstick is awful, others think these shades are beautiful 🙂
I so wanted to love the Amuse Bouche lipsticks because they’re gorgeous, but I can’t. I really dislike the scent and taste, which I find lingers for a really long time, but worse, these burn my lips! I’m not talking just drying (which they are), but an actual chemical type burn. If I wear them over about 4 hours, my lips are so burned and chapped that it takes me several days to get back to normal. It’s awful. Has that happened to anyone else, or am I just a weirdo??
Oh no, that sounds like you’re having an allergic reaction!
Enoki is a perfect nude for you! I bought Porcini on a whim and I’m surprised at how much I like it. Now I’m trying to decide if Cremini is too close to justify buying it as well…
These are fun. They are different than the norm, which I enjoy. What have you paired Porcini with (for eyes/cheeks)?
So far, I’ve paired it with cooler colours- silver, green and purple at different times- to balance out the warmth. That seems to work very well.
I like Portobello, but with my yellow undertones, the others would make me look like I need a new liver
I find the trick is to get the right color combo down (eyes/lips/face) to make something work that may not naturally work with my undertones!
I’m glad they have a range from light to dark, but these kind of warm neutral lipstick shades really make me look dreadful! I’ll stick with Thistle 🙂
Thistle — such an opposite to these, lol!
Exactly! 99% of “nude” lipstick shades are warm, most are light, and they make me look really horrible! I’m glad that a few lines have been coming out with some cooler and deeper neutral lipstick shades.
I don’t like any of these weirdish colors, not a one.
Glad you can save money! I do feel that they are gorgeous shades, it’s just a matter whether they’re the type you like or not.
