MAC Chartreuse Pigment ($22.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a bright, light-medium chartreuse with strong, warm undertones. It’s been around for ages, but it is being repromoted in this launch and will be specially packaged for the Good Luck Trolls collection. I’ve always loved this shade as a base color underneath brighter blues, greens, and teals. The nice thing about MAC Pigments is that they bind well on their own, so you can use them just damp and get really smooth, even application, or you can use their Mixing Medium for additional hold, but you can also apply them dry and get them to adhere and wear well on the lid. Chartreuse was richly pigmented, applied well, blended easily, and wore for eight hours before creasing on me.

MAC Sun’s Out, Buns Out Eyeshadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium golden yellow with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had good color payoff with a fairly soft, smooth consistency that applied well to the lid. I found I preferred a flatter brush with this for really smoothing out the color on m lid. This shade wore well for eight hours before creasing.

There is one other new (and limited edition, of course!) shade–Silly Vanilly–which I don’t have. The other three shades are repromotes from the permanent range–Paradisco, Black Tied, Atlantic Blue–and I did end up using Atlantic Blue (my recently purchased permanent pan) to get a little more depth out of the look since the Pigment and eyeshadow are more similar in color than not.

MAC Atlantic Blue Eyeshadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark, cobalt blue with a matte finish. It has decent, fairly buildable pigmentation, but it can be hard to blend out as it is a little drier and thinner. It is somewhat more manageable over a primer, but I have the best luck using it primer and then layering it on top of another eyeshadow for added depth. The color wore well for eight hours on me.

I’ve never used a MAC pigment (or any pigment, actually). This looks really nice. Now that they have some “mini” sizes I might get one. Chartreuse is available, but Kitschmas is more my speed.

I like these colours, they look great (tho Atlantic Blue could be better) and it looks like a fun collection! I didn’t collect trolls, I wasn’t into them in the 80s/90s but the shades look good here.

Well, it’s good to know MAC pigments adhere well when applied dry or damp. I’ve been avoiding loose pigments for fear they won’t stick on my oily lids without superglue. I’ve never tried pigments, and the only loose shadows I’ve tried were the L’Oreal Infallibles, and I had major fallout, even with primer. I still prefer the convenience of pressed shadows, but might try a MAC pigment if one catches my eye.

Seems that with the eyeshadow there is a product I will not only buy because of the packaging. The colour of the packaging is so intense and Looks really good.

Just dug out my MAC Chartreuse pigment–thanks for reminding me to use it, I had forgotten how beautiful it is!! Also have Atlantic blue and Fyrinnae’s Banana Mochi will do nicely for the yellow. Now all I have to do is call over tony local Sephora to see if they have Fairytale eyeliner in stock, and I have my Friday eye look good to go!!

I really like MAC pigments. I use them dry over a primer, they last all day and I have no fall out during the day, a bit when applying, but it’s not really a big problem. I don’t have Chartreuse, I have some similar pressed eyeshadows.
I really like Sun’s out, Buns out. Such a pretty golden yellow.
I think I had all of two trolls back in the day. I didn’t play with them, but I make clothes for them. I think I must have a few items from this collection, I find the packaging fun. And I already have two on the wish list 🙂

Remember when MAC pigments were a huge deal? MAC never seems to produce any new shades, so now they feel like an abandoned child. All we seem to get are the little charms sets during the holidays. It’s cool that they are at least including a pigment in this collection but I’m bummed it’s a repromote. This makes me treasure my collection even more.
