MAC Give In Lipstick
MAC Give In Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “creamy natural pink [with a Matte finish].” It’s a light-medium pink with warm, peachy tones and a creamy, natural finish. It had opaque coverage with a creamy, lightweight texture that had moderate slip–it is not matte at all, not even satin!–that did cause some of the color to gather in my lip lines while I wore it. The formula seemed to stay more emollient, though, so it was easier to smooth the color out of the lines by rubbing my lips together. It wore well for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. ColourPop Ace (LE, $7.00) is warmer (95% similar). NYX Nude (P, $6.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). NYX French Kiss (P, $6.00) is warmer (95% similar). MAC Breathing Fire Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “bright, warm fuchsia [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bright, medium-dark fuchsia with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It seemed to have the finest pearl that gave it a more reflective sheen. The texture was lightly creamy and didn’t drag on the lips, but it wasn’t slippery or particularly emollient applied. The color lasted for over six hours and was slightly drying after four hours of wear. MAC Smoked Rose (LE, $19.00) is lighter (95% similar). KVD Beauty Crush (LE, $21.00) is lighter, brighter (95% similar). NARS Candy Stripper (P, $26.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). NYX Shocking Pink (P, $6.00) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Invite Intrigue Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “cool, bright fuchsia [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bright, medium magenta purple with warm, red undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a very lightly creamy consistency that didn’t skip or drag, but it clung to lips noticeably. This shade lasted for over six hours like a lot of the deeper shades have in this launch, but it was drying. Tarte Surfer Girl (P, $22.00) is lighter (95% similar). Too Faced Tropical Punch (LE, $21.00) is less glossy (95% similar). Bite Beauty Dragonfruit (DC, $26.00) is glossier (95% similar). The MAC Blue Nectar Collection is a new, limited edition lip-oriented collection featuring twelve lipsticks (including four repromotes) and six Plushglasses (not reviewing these; my lips react to something in the formula). It launches online on June 2nd and will be available in-stores on June 9th.

Holee dupe fest! Many of these are so closely related, that they’re almost incestuous!
There are sooo m any dupes!
Gorgeous shades. I have dupes for all three, but I’m still glad to see that these perform well.
Phew 🙂 I feel like some of the recent MAC launches have been that way – perhaps an overload of satin/matte releases?
Give In looks pinker than I thought it would!
Is that a good or bad thing? 🙂
Not my colors, but glad they scored decently for those interested
Always nice to see a highly rated product!
Even though every single one of these look lovely, I probably won’t get any. Depressing, because I really wanted Breathing Fire (that name!), but I already have Pink Pigeon. Hardly ever wear it either. Also have Bittersweet for Invite Intrigue.
Wish I could comfortably pull off Give In, but I can *barely* pull off Please Me or Maybelline Blushing Bud. Both require a lip gloss to give them better opacity and some dimension.
Definitely skip Breathing Fire if you rarely wear Pink Pigeon, IMO!
Give In is my kind of color. I’ve been into peachy pinks recently. The hot pink one seems really dupeable.
Do you think you’ll try Give In, Amanda?
I probably will buy it soon. I have a somewhat similar color from Colour Pop but that’s discontinued. These peachy pinks look good on my pale warm skin and are nice for the summer months. 🙂
Can’t wait to get them all three but especially give in.
Hope you love all of them!
I think i’ll get Breathing Fire. It’s so pretty and I don’t have anything like it.
It’s a pretty hue! Enjoy it, Denise 🙂
Breathing Fire was my favorite but I have Bite Kimchi!
Money saved!
MAC’s site says that Give In is an Amplified finish. Does yours say Matte? Sometimes their site is wrong, so I’m just trying to figure out if I can order it or not. They put lanolin in Amplified, which I’m allergic to. Thanks :}
Sample labels, so my info is from the press release, which could also be wrong!
Lol! The mystery continues. I think I’ll wait ’til Nordstrom.com gets it in. Thanks so much for the reply! 😀
