Cle de Peau is pretty minimalist when it comes to describing their color products, so there’s not much to this one other than it is a highlighting powder. For anyone new to the brand, the Luminizers are available as refill pans (no compact) for $55, while if you want the compact, it’ll run you $95 (total); I am not personally motivated to spend $40 on a compact myself, so you’ll see I only bought the pan on its own. The texture of the powder is incredibly smooth and finely-milled, though this shade had a little bit more sparkle (not just fine shimmer) in it than some of the other shades in the range (particularly compared to the Gold one). It had good color payoff that could easily be sheered/diffused and blended out for a soft, warming glow with a delicate sheen that didn’t emphasize pores. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.
Cle de Peau Modern Pink (2) Lip Gloss ($48.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a soft, peachy-pink base with a lot of fine, peachy-gold shimmer. MAC Coconut Macaroon (LE, $17.50) is glossier (95% similar). Giorgio Armani Luce (101) (P, $38.00) is less shimmery, glossier (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (L.S.D.) (LE, $22.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Hourglass Imagine (P, $28.00) is lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Atole (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented, glossier (90% similar). Sephora Fresh Peach (07) (P, $12.00) is warmer, glossier (90% similar). MAC Dynasty at Dusk (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Lancome Mirrored Nude (09) (P, $22.00) is glossier (90% similar). MAC Satin Slip (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Saint No Angel (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, cooler, glossier (90% similar). Revlon Peach (DC, $7.49) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Huda Beauty Ritzy (P, $18.00) is more shimmery, glossier (90% similar). MAC Love Nectar (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, glossier (90% similar). Makeup Geek VIP (P, $15.00) is darker (85% similar). Ciate Luna (P, $18.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Anastasia Pearl (P, $16.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). ColourPop Drippin' (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). Chanel Sahara (610) (LE, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). NARS Orgasm (P, $26.00) is warmer (85% similar). Smashbox Petal Metal (P, $24.00) is darker, brighter, glossier (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Long-time readers might remember that this was one of my very first luxury purchases, and it still remains one of my favorite glosses of all-time (it’s absolutely dupable by other, less expensive ranges, though!). I recently repurchased it when I picked up the newly-released highlighter shade, so I figured I’d do an updated review. There’s not much to the description–“combines the drama and vibrancy of gloss with enduring deep color.” The texture is lightweight with light tackiness but is not overly sticky or goopy (it seemed tackier than I remember it being, though). It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque coverage with a lot of pearl and light shine. Some of the lighter, peachier base color gathers in lip lines, while the pearl/shimmer disperses evenly across the lips. There was no discernible scent or taste. The gloss lasted for five hours on me and was nicely hydrating over time.

These are so beautiful *drooling* Cle de Peau has beautiful highlighters, I haven’t this color yet, so…. *running to the next store* *lol*
Aww!
I saw you wearing the gloss recently for another review, and I definitely remembered it! Now that think of it, the color looks pretty similar to Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Romantique. Probably pretty close to Revlon Peony as well, although that one is discontinued.
It would be interesting to see a “Temptalia favorites” series sometime. 😀
I do monthly favorites under the favorites tab! 🙂
The prices are stunning!
Yes, this is an expensive brand.
WORTH EVERY GOLDEN PENNY! I got Pastel from CDP after your fabulous review of it, and I really couldn’t be happier. It’s the ONE highlighter I haven’t had ANY problems whatsoever with. Perfection. You rule, Christine!
Oooooh what a lovely pair!
They do coordinate!
Christine, you look really beautiful. That lip gloss looks so pretty, and I don’t even normally like lip gloss. I ordered the Golden Apricot highlighter sight unseen last week during the Nordstrom points event…glad it’s so pretty and rated A!
Thanks for the review!
Thank you, Pteetsa! 🙂
This is pretty! Which Cle De Peau luminzer is your favorite? I am thinking about picking one up but cannot choose.
Sand Beige I think is my favorite, though I quite like Golden Apricot (I tend to prefer warmer ones!).
There went the low buy! Love both!!! ? Oh my goodness these have my name on them. Eye look is gorgeous too Christine!
lol!
Thank you, Nicole!
That lipgloss is to die for, it’s gorgeous! No wonder you like it so much! The highlighter is also lovely and the perfect balance of shimmer and glow.
Thank you, Claire!
You look SO radiant and happy here!!! These two products are truly splendid looking, and obviously worth their hefty price point with the perfectly glowy, summer look they’ve imparted! But I do believe that they have had that effect beyond just the surface, as well. ?
Aw, thank you, Nancy! 🙂
Funny story: after applying Chanel’s Empreinte du Desert palette and wearing the Cle de Peau gloss, I went to my husband and said “I feel so pretty!” and he replied with “But you’re always pretty.” So I had a dumb, goofy grin on my face when I took that shot!
Naw, not dumb or goofy, just HAPPY! ?
The powder is a great highlighting blush for pale people.
It would be!
The luminizer looks gorgeous on its own and it will look even great when layered on top of an apricot/orange blush.
It is lovely for layering!
Love the eyes and lips!
Thank you!
A very pretty highlighter, but the price is a tad prohibitive.
It is expensive for sure!
Love both. Not going to get them. They are pricey, probably worht the cost though, and then I’d have to add the postage, so no, no CDP for me.
I guess I can invest in a new NARS Orgasm gloss. I don’t have much left, it is one of my favourites, something that made the CDP one that much more tempting.
They’re nice, but you can dupe both at lower levels (particularly the effect of the luminizer) 🙂
Thank you for such a great review as always. You look stunning. I just ordered Golden Apricot and Sand Beige thanks to your review.
I hope you love them both, Maria! 🙂
Oh gosh, these are both SO GORGEOUS. I hope to pick them up at some point! Bye bye money! Lol
