MAC Puttin' on the Spritz Casual Colour
MAC Puttin’ on the Spritz Casual Colour

MAC Puttin’ on the Spritz Casual Colour ($22.00 for 0.08 oz.) is described as a “bright intense coral.” It’s a brightened, orange-coral with warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had buildable color payoff whether patted onto cheeks or applied to lips that could be blended out for sheer color or layered for true-to-pan coverage. I would highly recommend applying this with a lip brush if you want to use it as a lip color, as you’ll get better coverage, evenness, and it will be less drying (but regardless, it is always somewhat drying worn as a lip product–it’s uncomfortable for me after an hour and a half of wear–and lasts two and a half hours). As a blusher, a stippling or duo fiber brush works just fine, but a little goes a long way! It wears for seven hours on the cheeks. Tom Ford Beauty James (LE, $32.00) is similar. Tom Ford Beauty Twist of Fate (LE, $50.00) is similar. NARS Juliette (P, $32.00) is pinker. Too Faced Melted Coral (P, $21.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Understudy (114) (P, $30.00) is darker. NARS Lodhi (P, $25.00) is warmer. ColourPop Tonic (P, $8.00) is brighter. MAC Coral Lumineux (LE, $70.00) is slightly redder. MAC Fleeting Romance (P, $23.50) is pinker, powder. Guerlain Petrouchka #9 (LE) is matte, powder. Makeup Geek Summer Fling (P, $9.99) is lighter, powder. MAC Ocean City (LE, $32.00) is powder. MAC Modern Mandarin (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, powder. Make Up For Ever #420 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is slightly more muted. Chanel Presage (62) (LE, $38.00) is brighter. NYX Cinnamon (P, $5.00) is more orange, powder. MAC P.S. I Like You Casual Colour ($22.00 for 0.08 oz.) is described as a “carnation pink.” It’s a brightened, medium pink with warm undertones and a soft sheen. As a lip color, it is drying and lasts for two hours. As a blush, it is blendable and wears for seven hours. Chanel Edith (424) (P, $36.00) is darker. Maybelline Blushing Bud (705) (P, $7.49) is lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Patrick (LE, $32.00) is less glossy. ColourPop Rocket (P, $5.00) is brighter, more matte. Bite Beauty Tatin (P, $24.00) is darker. Tom Ford Beauty Pink Tease (03) (P, $50.00) is more muted, matte. NARS Natalie (P, $32.00) is darker. YSL Corail Jalouse (32) (P, $34.00) is lighter. YSL Opera Rose (29) (P, $34.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Hoop (DC, $16.00) is more matte. MAC Betty Bright (LE, $16.00) is more matte. ColourPop Early Bird (P, $8.00) is more matte. ColourPop Clutch (P, $8.00) is darker, brighter. Chanel Crescendo (250) (LE, $45.00) is powder. Tarte Irreplaceable (LE, $26.00) is darker, powder. Tarte Fearless (P, $26.00) is powder. Guerlain Madame Rougit (LE, $67.00) is brighter, powder. Chanel Revelation (63) (P, $38.00) is lighter. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I always wish that my lip and cheek multi-use cosmetics were more comfortable to wear on my lips. I find that they’re usually good at one but not the other 🙂

I like the concept here and the shades. but, the wear times and the dryness on the lips is unappealing. Plus, I can only get this online. Not worth it to me. I wouldn’t mind a double duty product for summer. But, I want it to be quality.

I have 2 casual colours from the first launch and I don’t ever use it. It’s not spectacular as a lip product, considering it’s competing with MAC’s permanent array of lipsticks. And as a cheek application it just feels like a migrating blob. It never fully sets for me, so I’m afraid that by the end of the day it would slide to my chin. Over-reacting, I know.

As far as double duty products go, YSL’s Baby Doll Kiss & Blush is my go to. I want all of the colours, even though I only have Mocha Garsonne that I got at Marshall’s. The discount got me and how I’m hooked.

I didn’t use any brushes, but just fingers to dab and blend. Could be why I think it’s so “movable”. Generally, for liquid blush or CCB like Virgin Isle I’d use MAC’s 130 short duo-fibre.

I love Puttin’ on the Spritz so much! But I obviously have ‘a type’ because I own Too Faced Melted Coral, Nars Lodhi, MAC Modern Mandarin & Ocean City, NYX Cinnamon, Chanel Presage, Makeup Geek Summer Fling!…

I think I want them both! You think PS I Like You is too similar to Early Bird to own both? This one looks much pinker to Early Bird’s coral. but maybe when sheered out they’re more similar than different.
