MAC Pearl Blossom Beauty Powder ($26.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “light pink with silver pearl.” It’s a light-medium, cool-toned pink with a silvery, frosted sheen. NARS Adoration (Left) (P) is more sparkly. MAC Just a Wisp (P, $27.00) is brighter. MAC Azalea in the Afternoon (LE, $27.00) is warmer, darker. MAC Veronica’s Blush (LE, $30.00) is darker. MAC Pink Buttercream (LE, $30.00) is cooler-toned. Lancome Moonlight Rose (LE, $42.00) is similar. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Long-time MAC fans might already have this in their stash (I remember it from Barbie Loves MAC in ’07), and I myself remember using this heavily years ago (along with Pearl Sunshine). The color and finish are the same between this newest release and mine from 2007, though the texture is a bit different–my older one has a denser feel to it, more pliable. The texture is smooth but thin in the pan; there’s a firmer press going on these days when it comes to a lot of MAC’s Beauty Powders, I think. It’s not stiff to me, but it is thinner and smooth yet not really silky (usually smooth and silky are characteristics that go together). On my medium skin tone, I get both color, shimmer, and luminosity, though it could be applied with a less dense brush (I used a blush brush) for a more delicate sheen with less color. It had buildable coverage from semi-sheer to more opaque. It wore well without emphasizing my skin’s natural texture and lasted eight hours on me before starting to breakdown.

Hi Christine, do you know if this beauty powder is lighter or darker/more or less shimmer than the MAC Beauty Powder in Play It Proper? I didn’t see it in the comparison/dupes but it seems very similar. I LOVE that one (mine’s running low) but I mainly use it as a highlighter and if this one is darker/more of a blush it might be a pass.. thanks!!

I do love this shade however it does seem a little sheer to me, it might work well over a matte blush kind of as a highlight but kind of not, know what I’m saying?? haha
xxxxx (I love your blog!!!!)

Definitely considering buying this. On fair skin, do you think it’s more of a highlighter, or a blush? Could it be both depending on intensity of application? Could it be dusted all over?

What a lovely looking pink! So did you apply only to your cheeks or is it all over your face? If you use as a finishing powder, does it add pink tones to your face or is it very subtle? Oooh, I like those Fluidlines on your eyes !

Looks nice! I will put this on my “to consider” list! I do wish it was more warm in undertone. I don’t have much like this. But,I am trying to keep my budget pretty low on all 3 of the collections and I am thinking I may want a few fluidlines. I’m glad this one is actually supposed to be at the counter near me. So, I can pre-order and at least see the tester before I take it home. I am a little concerned with the shimmer and the lines that are creeping in around my eyes and upper cheek area..ugh.

Hmmm in the last days I thin “why I have give my lovley Beauty Powder Pearl Blossom from MAC Barbie to another girl!??”
And it seems it is here again (I have llooked a few minutes ago on Ebay for this Powder – someone wants 86,00 Euros for it!

Even though these collections aren’t great, am I the only one cramming product reviews like before a test? making a last minute list so I have all relevant info handy and easy to see..we need SPEED in ordering and checkout fellow Macletes!! (I just made up that word lol or should it be MacLetes?) 3 collections to be dribbled out at random times over a 24 hr period…or 48….ya never know… I’m getting ready to get my shop on. But srsly, I want so few things I’m allowing myself a small Sephora splurge after …..anybody tried the new Dr Jart kit sculpting kit? I want it so bad! It’s the only new item in that whole overloaded category I’m interested in.

Okay, I went through a few of these during Barbie Loves MAC & hoard some still but what I must ask is: Did the formulation change at all? That’s my main deterrent in ignoring this though I’m sure many manipulative MAC fiends out there will have bought tons to put in there Barbie compacts and sell for hundreds! Shame. But really, is the formula the same? Thank you! :*
