MAC Bouffant Eyeshadow
MAC Bouffant Eyeshadow ($16.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “pale peach shimmer [with a Veluxe Pearl finish].” It’s a light, pinky-peach with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a fairly soft, smooth consistency that was blendable and buildable in color. It wore well for eight hours before creasing on me. I expected this to have some dupes, but it was surprisingly dupable. Guerlain Les Precieux #2 (LE) is lighter. Tarte Champagne Bubble Bath (LE) is similar. Hello Kitty Apple Pie (LE) is darker. Stila Rose Quartz (P) is similar. Make Up For Ever I524 Pinky Beige (P, $21.00) is less shimmery. Chanel Tisse Venitien #2 (P) is similar. Chanel Tisse Camelia #3 (P) is similar. theBalm #14 (P, $6.50) is similar. theBalm #4 (P, $6.50) is similar. theBalm D2 (LE, $16.00) MAC Summer Honey (LE, $21.00) is more glittery. MAC Jest (P, $15.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Sin (P, $18.00) is similar. MAC Naked Lunch (P, $15.00) is less shimmery. MAC A Natural Flirt (LE, $19.50) is lighter. Le Metier de Beaute Nouvelle (LE, $30.00) is similar. bareMinerals Custom Made (LE) is more shimmery. Inglot #397 (P, $6.00) is more shimmery. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
MAC Yogurt Eyeshadow ($16.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “chalky pale pink [with a Matte finish].” It’s a light, neutral-to-cool-toned pink with a matte finish. The texture was firm and thin, which made it harder to get color off of the surface. It lasted for seven hours before fading. This shade is part of the permanent range. Lancome My French #2 (LE) is much darker. Make Up For Ever M870 Yogurt (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned. MAC The Wrong Man (LE, $15.00) is darker. MAC Elementary Pink (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Too Faced Powdered Sugar (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Fray (LE, $18.00) is darker. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
There are two other new, limited edition shades in this collection, which I don’t have, but I’ll certainly try to snag them when the collection launches online on March 26th!

Hey Christine, just heads up- in the wording you put both eyeshadows as “Bouffant”, it’s correct everywhere else.
Fixed, sorry!
Oh, nothing to be sorry about! Can happen to anyone!
Christine you called both shadows bouffant in the beginning. Also do you know if yogurt in the core collection has a better formula than the version released with this collection. (Like carbon does)
Nah, Yogurt is a pretty subpar eyeshadow 🙁
OMG!!! these shades are so pretty especially the first one. They are looking damn cool on eyes in the givin picture. Really amazing
Thanks, Nia!
Hi Christine, love your work, but i think you have the same name twice!!
Fixed, sorry!
Those are so pretty in the pan but they barely show up on you so I can’t imagine they would work well for us deeper/darker toned women 🙁
I think Yogurt will contrast more, but it’ll look ashy, so… not in a good way!
Love it when I’m right, but hate it when I’m right about makeup! As soon as I saw Yoghurt in the press release thingymabobby shabadu, the gut feeling was chalky and hard. Last MAC collection that I actually bought from was Venomous Villians, they’ve been so lacklustre and uninspired.
Yogurt is an eyeshadow best used over a base or as a transition or highlighter shade on fair skin – but in a place where you don’t need to blend it a ton (because it’s close to the natural skin color) or a sheer pplication is OK.
The colors are nice, definitely, but since they’re so light and subtle I just wouldn’t know what to do with them.
Bouffant is nice on the inner lid or in the center for a halo effect, I think. Not super unique, though.
Yogurt is always so bad. I’ve had it since my second Mac purchase (recommended by the SA) and have used it maybe once.
Right?? Total miss!
I like how Yogurt is described as a “chalky pale pink”, at least it lives up to its description
I resisted saying, “Well, it’s exactly as described!”
LOL! I actually thought I wonder if she had to fight a sarcastic “yep, that’s it alright” hehehe I was close!
I am liking Bouffant. But, I may prefer the MUFE dupe. It doesn’t appear quite as peachy. But, I would probably use it more. I wish yogurt had performed better. Well, my wallet does not. But , now I know of another 2 MUFE artist shadows that I want! 🙂
MUFE is better. Almost always, LOL!
Yeah agreed, I just crossed Bouffant off. I did the math and it comes out costing more than a MUFE artist shadow! I was re-looking at the swatches last night and noticed a comment that said “Baby you are a ROCK STAR!” lol..I am totally in agreement with that! I also was looking at the Rouge G swatches and noticed some girl knocking you in 2009 I believe, saying the blog was going down hill and you were in grad school and doing this! OMG, I wanted to jump back in time and punch her.
You are a rock star and you have not aged at all either..just fyi. You are doing an amazing job. Just do your best.
No worries! 🙂 The blog has definitely changed/evolved over time, and not everyone will love how it changes but overall, I think more have enjoyed the ride, so it’s all good!
Hi Christine,
You listed both shadows as bouffant in your write-up! I think you meant for the second one to be yogurt! 🙂
Fixed, sorry!
Bouffant graded better than I thought! I might get it now. Will u be reviewing the green?
Hi,
I only received these two shades! While I will definitely do what I can to purchase the other two when they release, I can’t guarantee it since they could sell out so quickly!
Oh ok , bummer! Why would they send you yogurt, weird,? Yogurt is permanent. Too bad they didn’t send you the green or purple
This new Tarte Palette I got has a dupe for Yogurt in it. It’s much smoother and not chalky.
Nice!!
Bouffant would be so pretty if it swatched the way it looks in the pan. Same with yogurt too, actually. Unfortunate that they don’t!
Yogurt is such a pain!
MAC Yogurt has a dupe, in my opinion, it is Maybelline Color Tattoo in Nude Pink.
I have found a couple of other dupes as well, not related to these colors.
Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Amber Rush; dupe MAC Mythology
NYX single eyeshadow LOL; dupe MAC single eyeshadow pot in Brick Red
NYX single eyeshadow Heat Chaleur; dupe MAC Cranberry
NYX single eyeshadow Stiletto Talon Aiguille; dupe Maybelline Color Tattoo Nude Pink; dupe MAC single eyeshadow Yogurt
NYX single eyeshadow Sex Kitten (more pink) & NYX single eyeshadow Pixie Lutin ( more brown-champagne-ish); dupe for MAC single eyeshadow Bouffant.
Thank you, Rachel!
Not my kind of shadows. MACs description of Yogurt didn’t even sound appealing.
LOL! No, not at all.
