12 Shades of Peach for Spring

For today’s theme, I went for a more orange-peach, both light, medium, and darker in color but nothing truly orange or so light it was more beige. I might do a more pinky-peach round-up in the future for those who prefer a rosier tone to their peach shades 🙂

What are your favorite peach-hued shades?

I know Highly Waisted and Warm Soul will be the easiest of the peaches to wear I think. I might be able to use Cantaloupe and Salmon, not too sure though as they could turn out too light for me. I wish peach was easier to wear…

Huge fan of Highly Waisted here!!! Other peach shades I love are: MAC Arena e/s, ABH Sherbert e/s, MAC Halcyon Nights shade You My Everything, MAC Cheek Pollen blush, MAC Ravishing and Reel Sexy (although I love CT Bitch Perfect way more) lipsticks and their Cremesheen Lipglass in Stately Shimmer. Also Nyx Crystal Soda lipgloss is a nice sheer peachy glittery concoction that looks great over peachy or nude lipsticks! Would have added MAC Ultimate Lipstick in Marque, but wasn’t absolutely certain it falls into “peach” territory? On me, it’s a peachy nude.

Peach doesn’t feature much in my makeup collection except for eyeshadows. Some of my faves – from MAC both Naked Lunch and All That Glitters. From Bare Minerals – Ball Gown. Sin from UD and from Stila, Jezebel from the Eyes Are the Window Spirit palette, which really surprises me because when I first looked at it, I didn’t like it at all.

Peach is not a good color for me — both too warm and too pastel. It’s a pretty color, but it looks horrible on me. That said, when I get a color like I520 Pinky Sand in a palette, it’s subdued enough (close enough to the color of my skin) that it can work as an inner lid shade for me with darker or brighter colors on the outer lid.

It looks like you chose mostly beige-y peaches, rather than pinky-peaches, Christine. I think that Cantaloupe is the prettiest — I’m more drawn to the pinky-peaches.

Hey Fran,

I specifically opted for truer peach (more orange than pink, since once you add pink, it gets into coral territory, and I’ve done a lot of those round-ups) 🙂 I think I mentioned this in the post, but I’m going to go back to make sure I did, since I did specifically do it that way!

I love Maybelline Nude Nuance Lipstick and Too Faced Heart Blush in I Will Always Love You. Also eyeing Laura Geller Gelato Blush in Canteloupe, so pretty and yummy looking! I used to work in a gelato shop when I was younger, just want to dip a spoon in there LOL

My favorite is the Golden Peach cream/powder shadow duo from TF. BTW, Christine, I see on Saks that you can preorder it for April release. That may mean that they are making it part of the permanent line. That is good for me since I missed out on the naked Bronze duo.

Pretty! Chanel JC blushes in Malice, Frivole and Angelique are my favorite peaches I use as blush and eye shadow. I think they do the best peach colors. Most others turn into something different. Muddy, orange. Seeing color in a pan does not work. I have too many peach failures and I think it is one of the hardest colors to find that translates as a peach on each unique skin tone. I love your suggestions! They look great on your skin! I do love peach. We have a tough relationship though. ColourPop Puppy Love works as a peachy pink duochromatic shimmer on top of any eye I do. It’s a favorite! I stick to golden champagne Pearlized glosses for a hint of peach on lips. 🙂 YSL Rouge Volupte #1 and Charlotte Tilbury B*tch Perfect work well as lipsticks that look peach though I reach more for a sheer patted coat of TF Thomas to make a true peach pucker and add a glossy balm on top. Other products that work for me (extremely pale with cool yellow undertone) as peach: BECCA beach tint in grapefruit. MAC Peaches. Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Emerveille, Tom Ford Cream Color in Sphinx, NARS St Vence duo. Single in Vahalla. Many are fun to play with in the UD X Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette and blush palette too. For a juicy peach lip I enjoy opaque-ish jelly glosses. 🙂 ?

I could go on about peach makeup for days! It’s so flattering on me. For blush, I like MAC Peaches, Clinique Nude Pop, and Milani Luminoso. For eyeshadow, Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie and MAC Bamboo (I also have lots of other shades with peachy tones that aren’t strictly peach). For lipstick, MAC Kinda Sexy pulls a hint peachy on me (it’s so interesting to see how one shade can look so different on different people) and MAC Margherita is more of a true peach.

Chanel rouge coco Peregrina – (discontinued and I *still* can’t find a suitable dupe), Chanel joues contraste Espiegle (discontinued). Pretty much great peaches are very hard to find.

I love that you did lavenders and then peaches, as the two are my favorite color combination for pastels. I think their differing undertones play off each other so nicely. I don’t have a single item on this list, though. I’ve been missing out! lol

Some of my current favorite peaches (I tried to leave out corals and peachy nudes):
Eyeshadows — Urban Decay Fireball and Freelove; Nyx Prismatic in Golden Peach and Fireball; ABH China Rose, Bellini, Intense Gaze, Soft Peach, Spoiled, Orange You Fancy; Too Faced Macaron and Nougat.

Cheeks — I love peach and coral blushes! Sleek Blush in Life’s a Peach and Rose Gold; Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove; Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Classic, Bashful and the entire Bling It On palette; The Balm in Hot Mama, Down Boy, and In-Stain in Swiss Dot; Too Faced Flush Blush in I Will Always Love You; e.l.f. Mineral Blush in Cabo Cabana; Urban Decay Gwen Stafani Hush blush and OC highlighter.

Lips — bhCosmetics Waterproof Lip Liner Pencil in Peachy and Stripped; Too Faced La Creme in Shimmering Naked Dolly, Taffy and Nude Beach; Too Faced Melted in Peony and Metallic Peony; Wet n Wild Megalast in Just Peachy; Hard Candy Plumping Gel Stick in Anonymous; Nyx Matte Cream in Instanbul; Nyx Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel; Nyx Creamy Round Lipstick in Stella; Maybelline Baby Lips in Oh Orange.

I like to pair bright lavender lids, such as UD Tonic, with matte peaches in the crease, such as Too Faced Nougat, and highlight the browbone with something like Nyx Prismatic in Golden Peach. I also like a smokey lavender/purple eye with really light peach lips, such as Hard Candy Anonymous, instead of a nude. A really cool lavender, purple, or blue eye really benefits from peachy blush and/or lips, I think. Or at least on my skintone.

Here are some I have;
Blushes: Benefit Coralista (love this!), Tarina Tarantino Feather, NARS Orgasm, theBalm Hot Mama
Eyeshadow: Milani Peaches and Cream
Lips: Bobbi Brown Rich Color gloss Pink Gold, Tarte Lipsurgance Sweet, Lipstick Queen Big Bang gloss Infinite

Not a big fan of Peach… I feel it washes me out…. Though waiting for ur rosier peach( pink toned peach) recommendations. Now that would be more up my amp.

Runa Avatar

Hi Christine 🙂 I am not totally new in make up but lately I am doing make up more often and buying new products and also learning all the techniques. Your reviews helps me a lot also to decide which products should I avoid.Like the Tom Ford new Blushes which I wanted to have but after seeing your reviews I was saved.
But sometimes I have really a problem between Peach and Coral , I know it’s a bit stupid but is there any simple way to differentiate them !!

Christine Avatar

Thank you so much, Runa!

Peach is kind of like a lighter version of coral, more white-based. True peach to me runs yellower or more orange than it does pink – as soon as you start getting pink in there, it can be more coral than peach, I think.

I like peach as it’s an easier way to wear orange. Given a choice though, I’d go for a more pinky peach colour. I find peach easier to wear on my cheeks than on my eyes, though it’s a flattering colour. I like the peach shade (Esoteric) in NARS Despair palette, it’s a shimmery peach which is lovely to wear.
