Sneak Peek: Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipsticks Photos & Swatches

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick
Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a new, permanent formula that launches January 19th on Urban Decay’s website. The formula will be available in 30 shades, and I have 25 of those shades swatched (apologies, I do not have the other five!). I’ll try to get at least one set of reviews up before the 19th, but the majority will come after that as liquid lipsticks typically tend to take awhile to test (only one or two a day).

These are some of the nicest looking liquid lipstick swatches I have ever seen. Most of the time, I have sympathy pain seeing how dried out & cakey people’s lips look. Your lips don’t look dried out or cakey at all! Definitely looking forward to the reviews on these.

I may not have always had the highest opinion of Urban Decay but quite a few of these look REALLY nice. Like, moreso than I was expecting. If they actually dry all the way down and don’t crack, these might actually be a really nice launch for them! I always love seeing your swatches prior to review — I always have fun looking at them all lined up and guessing which ones were best and worst! Daheep is totally right, these appear much more forgiving on the lips as well!

Oh my! I’m loving Big Bang, Flame, Conspiracy, and Trap Queen. Studded looks fun, unique but not wearable on a daily basis (but hey, that’s never stopped me from buying before). 🙂

I LOVE how thin these look – minus the few obvious streaky ones. I feel like this formula will not be super heavy and drying. *crossing fingers. I dislike glitter in lip products so those won’t be for me but I like the color range. Let’s hope these get a good grade!

I hope 1993 is comfortable to wear! I lost my bullet version of this color and have been on the fence about repurchasing it because I love the color but it wasn’t very long lasting. Glad to see it in liquid lipstick form!

Am I looking at the same swatches that others are lol? A lot of these looks so thin and unpigmented. Especially those metallics! I’m sorry your lips had to endure all this for such apparently low quality product.

Wow, some of these look good, others dry and clumpy. Pandemonium looks better here than traditional formula, Studded and Conspiracy look so different than the traditional formula. Interested in Mad or its dupes if it doesn’t do well.

Betty Avatar

Love Rapture in this finish too (I have the others), if not drying. Maybe Amulet also, if not “frosty”. Maybe even Naked and Trivial too – a lot of them look promising.

Brenda Avatar

While UD can at times be hit or miss I love their lipsticks so I’m very excited for these. Naked, Trivial, Backtalk, Rapture and Big Bang look so good. If I didn’t already own Firebird from the Gwen Stefani collection I would pick it up too.

Looking forward to your review Christine!

*Trump Voice* I see some winners and I see some losers! The losers lost so bigly, they just can’t handle it! SAD! All the winners get a free ticket to my makeup table, it’s the best makeup table, believe me. Winners stick together and we’ll make Urban Decay great again! Promise!

Hanna Avatar

I’m a little over liquid lipstick so I thought I wouldn’t want any of these. But I definitely want conspiracy and studded, even though studded looks a bit patchy, it’s such a unique shade. I don’t have anything like either of them.

Kayla Avatar

Right, Helena?! It seems silly to exclude only five shades of a 30 shade collection. Was sending those last five really going to put UD out after they sent the other 25? Lmfao. And it wasn’t like they made a mistake in omitting them, Trendmood also did not appear to get them as per her Instagram swatches. And there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the five they did not send (like they aren’t all UD-exclusive shades or all previously-released Revolution or Vice shades.) It’s just totally random. And it’s a real shame because I was really interested in seeing four of the five swatched before their release when they would assumedly be sold out but oh well. That’s just how UD decided to do it for whatever reason *shrug*

As for “WSM,” it could stand for “Woman Seeking Man,” a homage to all those dating classified ads of yesteryear. Or awesome without the vowels. aWeSoMe. But knowing UD, it’s probably the former.

I thought I would like more of these. The matte ones seem really drying and the are lots of dupes of the regular lipsticks, which I already have.

Claire L Avatar

I like the look of Amulet, it looks very smooth and a nice colour. Mad Vice looks very 80s frosted but in a good way! And Conspiracy is nice.

Leslie Avatar

What a bi-polar collection. Some of them are very unique and absolutely fabulous; others are completely unremarkable. But the ones that pop…WOW!

marmars Avatar

most of the non shimmer/glitter shades look very thin in formula and streaky, although I do love the choice in colors. looks like these are a pass unless they somehow are very comfortable to wear, despite looking so dry.

Zoe Avatar

Amulet, 1993, Flame, Rapture, and Conspiracy look amazing!
One thing I love about UD’s lip releases is they put out a lot of color variations within a collection. They don’t just make a bunch of pinks and reds that all look really close, with a few oranges and purples thrown in. They have figs, and plums, and browns, grays, apricots and truly unique colors.

waymire Avatar

Looking forward to the review. I see obvious patchiness which does not bode well.
Just FYI.. if you like a matte, long wearing formula try the UD liners alone. They last just as long as a liquid lipstick on me, wear off nicer, and are not as drying as many. They have the slightest bit of satin which makes them look really good on the lips. Not all of them are matte either.. I have one shimmer and it’s no much nicer on than any of the metallic liquid lipsticks I’ve tried.

Blackmail and Conspiracy look promising, although Blackmail looks a little thin. I appreciate the attempt to be fun with Studded. The rest of these are one big yawn.

Beth Avatar

So many gorgeous colors, it’s hard to decide! I received some samples from UD this week, only tried Purgatory so far. The shade is too dark for my taste, but the formula is nice! Goes on creamy and there was very little transfer after it dried. Removal was very difficult, even with makeup remover – my lips felt raw afterwards. Any recommendations for a good makeup remover to use with these?

Stevee Avatar

I have such mixed feelings….. I wish they would of came out with some more colors that arent already in the vice line. However, I do appreciate them being honest and keeping their name so you know which ones are a repeat color but in a different formula. I kind of higher hopes for this launch especially after the vice one. I wasn’t expecting the color range, but the pigmentation I was.

Christina Avatar

Interesting. these seem like kind of a split! The matte shades seem to have applied smoothly and evenly, with the exception of a few patchy-looking dark shades, whereas the glitter ones look thinner and like they were tricky to apply. Looking forward to your review as usual, Christine! ?
