Happy Mother’s Day!

May you enjoy yours, however that may be, with whoever you love in your life. So many people help guide us through life, sometimes natural mothers, often times those who take on the roles without ever really saying so.  I have an amazing mother, mother-in-law, and two grandmothers that have all helped me along the way–and I’m sure they’ll continue to do so.  Happy Mother’s Day!

Temptalia Asks You

What’s the best beauty tip/advice you received from your mom? (And “mom” can be taken as anyone who may have played any maternal role in your life – grandmothers, sisters, aunts, fathers, etc.)

Temptalia's AnswerI remember my mom always called my mole (by my nose) a beauty mark, and I thought that was great – because I never, ever was self-conscious about it UNTIL someone called it a mole when I was in my teens, but she laid a great foundation and helped me get over that more quickly, I think.

Temptalia Asks You

What’s your advice for someone who doesn’t feel comfortable wearing no makeup outside of the house? Many of us have felt uncomfortable before, so share your tips and tricks to feeling more confident in your own skin!  This question is a follow-up from yesterday’s, as some readers wanted to wear no makeup but didn’t feel comfortable or confident doing so. I’ve personally experienced that feeling, and I would have loved to have advice/support on how to get to the point where I did feel comfortable in my own skin – I thought we could share those experiences and advice with each other.

Temptalia's AnswerWear less and less gradually, so maybe if you always do a full face, keep the foundation but go lighter on everything else. Then move to tinted moisturizer, then maybe just concealer where you need it. Remind yourself that you’re beautiful, and it’s not makeup that is responsible for that – confidence makes us all more beautiful, makeup or not. There’s nothing wrong with wearing makeup any time one goes out of the house, but we should all feel comfortable sans makeup if it happens!
