ColourPop Super Shock Cheeks (Bronzers)
ColourPop Super Shock Cheeks (Bronzers)

ColourPop Bon Voyage Super Shock Cheek (Bronzer) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “soft tan in a matte finish.” It’s a muted, light-medium brown with subtle, warm, yellow undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a lightly velvety texture–a little drier than the highlighter formula but on par with the matte blushes–that is easily blended on the skin. The color wore well for nine hours on me. Colour Pop Skinny Dip (P, $8.00) is warmer. MAC Golden Rinse (LE, $35.50) is lighter, warmer. MAC Matte Bronze (LE, $70.00) is less shimmery, warmer. Tarte Park Ave. Princess #2 (LE, ) is more shimmery, warmer. MAC Aphrodite’s Shell (LE, $33.00) is warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Terra (P, $65.00) is darker. Marc Jacobs Beauty Close-Up #2 (LE, ) is lighter. MAC Matte Bronze (P, $25.00) is lighter. Benefit Hoola (P, $28.00) is darker, warmer. Make Up For Ever #20M (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, cooler. ColourPop Carry-on Super Shock Cheek (Bronzer) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “soft bronze in a matte finish.” It’s a brightened, medium brown with warm, yellow undertones and a semi-matte finish. The pigmentation was mostly opaque, while the texture had a velvety, smooth feel to it without really being “wet” to the touch. It applies more like a powder product and doesn’t lift any base products unless you really rub it on with fingertips. On me, the color wore well for nine hours before fading. Urban Decay Naked on the Run Bronzer (LE, ) is lighter. Clarins Splendours (LE, $35.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer. MAC Bronzer (LE, $30.00) is lighter, warmer. NARS Vientiane (P, $39.00) is darker, warmer. NARS Altai (P, $39.00) is warmer. MAC Hibiscus Kiss Bronzer (LE, $25.00) is darker, warmer. Make Up For Ever #25I (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop Happy Hour Super Shock Cheek (Bronzer) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “deepened bronze in a matte finish.” It’s a rich, medium-dark, red-toned brown with a matte finish. The texture was slightly more emollient compared to the other two bronzers in this review, which made it easier to work with. It blends on nicely (more like a powder product), and it lasted for nine hours before fading slightly. NARS Vientiane (P, $39.00) is warmer. Colour Pop Swift (P, $8.00) is brighter, warmer. NARS Cappadoce (P, $39.00) is warmer. Le Metier de Beaute Sun Drenched (P, $55.00) is more shimmery. MAC Hibiscus Kiss Bronzer (LE, $25.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer. MAC Billionaire Bronze (LE, $29.50) is darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Temptalia Asks You

Have you ever gotten rid of a product and regretted it? Share!

Temptalia's AnswerI can’t recall an instance of that in the last five years or so! Even before then, nothing comes to mind. I guess that just says that I keep too much, LOL!

Temptalia Asks You

What’s your current method for applying cream blush? Share!

Temptalia's AnswerI almost always reach for MAC’s 159, which is a duo-fiber stippling brush, as it has a great shape for getting the right level of coverage but can still blend and diffuse edges. It’s also feathery at the edges to avoid disturbing base products if applying the cream blush over foundation. Otherwise, fingertips!

Rant & Rave

Share: Tell us what you love and hate about L’OREAL!

my answer: Sometimes they seem really pricey compared to other brands at the drugstore, so I really try to wait for some sort of sale before buying anything. I think they have some really strong formulas in their eye and nail products. I wish their lip products had a better scent.
