Favorite cleanser for brushes? Dr. Bonner’s Castille liquid soap
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup? Good Molecules cleansing balm
Favorite cleanser for body? Dove Nourishing body wash
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
Favorite cleanser for brushes? Quo (Shoppers Drug Mart house brand) Solid Brush Cleaner
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup? Pretty much any of my facial cleansers (I don’t wear much face makeup so don’t really need something to take off foundation); current favourites – Tatcha Rice Cleanser, Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel and Youth to the People Kale one but I have so many that I really like
Favorite cleanser for body? Ouai St. Barts Gentle Body Wash (it leaves a very moisturizing finish on the skin)
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)
Favorite cleanser for brushes? For instant cleaning, I use Sephora Daily Brush Cleaner Spray (it has tea tree oil in it, so it certainly sanitizes them), and for heavy duty and foundation brushes/sponges I use Suave Daily Clarifying Cleansing Shampoo because it’s very hypoallergenic and really gets the gunk out quickly and effectively!
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup? For eye makeup because I wear waterproof eyeliner and mascara plus everything else really hurts my very sensitive eye area, good old Vaseline. For face, but not eyes: Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm followed up with FAB Pure Skin Face Cleanser.
Favorite cleanser for body? OGX Coconut & Coffee Bean exfoliating body wash. Love the scent and the mild exfoliation effect!
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name.
Favorite cleanser for brushes?
I don’t clean my brushes. If you have been on the blog for any length of time, you likely know that I don’t. I am still using brushes that I got back in the 80’s and 90’s. I use to just windshield wipe them against a piece of paper towel until they didn’t deposit any further color. Now I mostly use a color changing tool. I have also been known to just brush them off on my house robe. I know most of you are probably running in horror right now but it works for me. I have never had a problem with it but probably not the best idea and as a nurse you would think I would know better but as I said, no problems. In some respects the brushes that I bought back in the early days of my makeup usage, are in better condition than those I have purchased later. They were basic brushes but better quality than those made today.

I double cleanse and sometimes triple. I start by using the Cera-Ve Hydrating Makeup hydrating wipes. I follow that with the Madagascar Gentle Exfoliating Centella Foam Cleanser. I don’t find it to be particularly exfoliating which is why a couple of days a week I follow it with the Tatcha Rice Cleanser.
Favorite cleanser for body? I don’t really have one. I do use a lot of Bath and Body work shower gels in favorite scents and probably my most used and repurchased is the Thymes Unlimited Goldleaf Cleanser. It is nothing special and more expensive then the B and B Shower gels but I do love the powdery scent so I use it fairly frequently when I want to make a little more effort.
Your skin tone/coloring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favorite cleanser for brushes? Whatever shampoo I that I have and I don’t like…
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup? I have a few – Nutregena’s Hydro Boost Cream cleanser, CeraVe’s cleanser, The Ordinary’s Squalene cleanser and I am about to try The Inky List’s Oat Milk cleanser.
Favorite cleanser for body? Because I have fairly sensitive skin I use either Dermaveen’s Gentle Body Wash with Oatmeal or Natio’s Spa Body cleanser.
Best makeup brush cleaner. I loved MAC but a friend gave me Clinique Spray Brush Cleaner. I don’t like it as well as MAC. For makeup remover I’m addicted to the Bliss wipes in the pink plastic container. The fragrance makes me beyond happy. I buy them like crazy. But! They are a little oily feeling. For body Neutrogena Grapefruit Body Wash. It makes my skin feel super clean
Skin tone/coloring: fair with red undertone
Favorite cleanser for brushes: Dr. Bronner’s Unscented
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup: I double clean first with DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, then with Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser or another fragrance-free cleanser that has no SLS and no cocamidopropyl betaine. I’ve tried other cleansing oils (including Tatcha’s, Palmer’s, some Korean ones and DHC’s Olive Concentrated Cleansing Oil), but I haven’t found any that does as good of a job at removing mineral sunscreen as the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. Now that it is available at Ulta, I don’t need to pay shipping, so I am pretty loyal to the DHC.
Favorite cleanser for body: If I can get a deal on it, I prefer the Nécessaire Body Wash. Otherwise, I’Il use any fragrance-free no-SLS, no cocamidopropyl betaine shampoo that my scalp has rejected.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium with warm yellow undertones, dark brown hair and eyes
Favorite cleanser for brushes? Castille soap
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup? Paula’s Choice cleansing balm
Favorite cleanser for body? Paula’s Choice body and hair shampoo
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, brown hair.
Favorite cleanser for brushes? I don’t really have one, though I do like to use Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap to really get the product out of my face brushes.
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup? I double cleanse, so right now I use the Versed Cleansing Balm to break everything down, then wash my face with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser.
Favorite cleanser for body? Anything that has a nice scent and has some moisturizers in it.
Brush cleaner? Tried many. Hated most. Disliked the rest. I think I liked Cinema Secrets best, IIRC. I Always use a color switch pan first. Then either the refillable jar with cleaning mat. Or the big spray. They have a spot cleaner spray, too. M/U remover: every solid melty kills my eyes. The only product not to so far is Purito Green Level. Liquid, so it may beMORE likely to get in the eyes. My eyes don’t tolerate most ‘natural tears’ formulas. So trying Purito (I already used some P products) was a godsend. Body: lots. Bioderma Sensibio or ABC (kids) are pretty good for not clashing with scent.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair to light, neutral to cool, mousy hair, grey/green eyes
Favorite cleanser for brushes? Whatever shampoo I have.
Favorite cleanser for removing makeup? I don’t have a favourite but I’m happy with my current products. I use Garnier Micellar Water first, an oil cleanser second (Mizon Nourishing Deep Cleansing Oil for now) and a gel cleanser for last (Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleansing Gel at the moment)
Favorite cleanser for body? Bioderma Atoderm Ultra-Gentle Shower Gel
