YSL Fiery Red (83) & Nu Fatal (85) Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Fiery Red (83)
YSL Fiery Red (83) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a rich, coppery red with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff in a single pass, which applied evenly and fluidly across my lips without dragging or tugging during application. The texture was creamy, lightweight, and emollient–thin without being clingy–and seemed to be rather forgiving and gave my lips a slightly smoother appearance. It stayed on well for five hours and was hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$38.00/0.13 oz. - $292.31 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "rich color with intense hydration ... in just one stroke." The lipstick has moderate slip--some shades are fairly emollient and can feel slippery during wear, while many are creamy but adhere well enough.
I've found that more mid-tone and deeper shades have better applications with smoother, more forgiving color that was semi-opaque or higher in coverage. Some of the lighter and the very deepest shades were more prone to settling into lip lines or yielding more medium to semi-opaque coverage.
The wear ranged from four to six hours on average. I found the formula was usually on the hydrating side. There was a sweet, floral scent with a very subtle taste, though I felt like it sometimes gave me a taste and other times, I didn't notice anything.

Nu Fatal (85)
YSL Nu Fatal (85) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied somewhat unevenly as the texture had a tendency to cling to my lip texture, sink into my lip lines, and separated along the upper “lines” of my lip. The consistency felt lightweight, creamy without being heavy or thick, but it just didn’t seem to sit well on my lips from the get go, and the product only looked worse over the three and a half hours it lasted for. The only upside to the wear was the formula seemed to be somewhat moisturizing over time.

Oh I like fiery red, it’s perfect for fall, I will pass for now because I already have chili from Mac which seems quite similar.
Lovely, lovely red!
Fiery Red is a perfect shade for autumn! I love it. However, I also love MAC Chili and Devoted To Chili… considerably less $’s. I’ll probably need to try all 3 on to be sure. But this autumn I will finally find my perfect copper-red (or, in my mind: rusty-red or spicy-red. All 3 descriptions fit, though! ?).
