Wet 'n' Wild Bikini Contest Color Icon Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches

Wet 'n' Wild Bikini Contest Color Icon Bronzer
Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest Color Icon Bronzer

Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest Color Icon Bronzer ($3.99 for 0.46 oz.) is a medium-dark, orange-toned tan with a soft, champagne shimmer-sheen finish. MAC Hibiscus Kiss Bronzer is more orange. Burberry Copper Glow is slightly warmer. MAC Lush Light Bronze is slightly browner. MAC Refined Golden is darker. Burberry Copper Glow is more golden. See comparison swatches.

It had a soft, finely-milled texture that applied evenly and smoothly. The more the product is worked into the skin and buffed out, the more refined the shimmer becomes and more natural the glow looks. It adds a lot of warmth, some orange tones, but it isn’t too frosted on the skin, so it doesn’t emphasize pores or the skin’s natural texture. Bikini Contest was easy to apply and blend out, and on my warmer complexion, didn’t look sunburnt or too orange. I think it may be too orange-based for cooler skin tones, though. When I wore it, the bronzer lasted seven and a half hours well on my cheeks, and after eight hours, it started to fade.

I *finally* managed to get ahold of the other 2, on separate occasions, due to the fact that when I finally managed to find them in stock, half were on the shelves broken. The packaging seems fairly sturdy, though, but I’d be apprehensive about traveling with these.

I always think it’s weird that bronzers are orange tinted. I’ve never seen someone turn orange from the sun – only from self/spray tanners. Most people I know tan a rosier tint. I have warm olive skin and I don’t turn orange. This particular orange isn’t as in-your-face as some others you’ve reviews recently though.

LOVE this bronzer! I actually got it in another shade though, Ticket to Brazil, which I find looks better on those with more yellow undertones such as myself. However I think this shade still looks particularly lovely, I will have to see if it’s still available at my local drugstore. 🙂

Don’t think the color would suit me but I’ll consider it if it comes in other shades. I’m always amazed at how well you pull off so many different products Christine! 🙂

It almost looks like an orange blush on you, Christine! Pretty but certainly not for my pale face. Hopefully they’ll have another. It’s also great that you have another one of Wet n Wild’s stand-outs (for a drugstore brand).

There is another shade called Ticket to Brazil that is a lighter, more gold-tan bronzer and is very flattering on me – I’m pale but not translucent, a little yellow, usually the second lightest shade of most foundations.

Oh man, my usual complaint.. I hate most bronzer colours and this is no exception. As far as the product is concerned, I think it looks like a great value. Too bad about the colour = shudder
