My skin tone/coloring: Fair with neutral to cool undertones.
Favorite look you worn: Too Faced Primed and Peachy on my t-zone, Mac Face and Body foundation, Tarte Shape Tape on red areas of my cheeks, Bite Multistick in Papaya for blush, MUFE HD loose finishing powder on t-zone, Glossier Boy Brow, Wet n Wild eye primer, Benefit They’re Real tinted lash primer, Colour Pop ultra glossy lip in Boujee.
Most used product of the week: MAC Face and Body and Glossier Boy Brow.
Any new beauty discoveries: Not really this week.
*Colour Pop ultra glossy lip in Wolfie.
Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, dark hair with silver
Favorite Look Worn:
Dior Backstage Cool Eyeshadow Palette (one of my top favorite palettes in my collection). The shades were applied on top of NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer, and I also used MAC Mixing Medium Eyeliner for the shimmer shade on the lid (I think this is important to say because the palette comes with its own primer that I don’t use). For this look I used Mauve as transition, Ombré to darken crease, Lilac on lid, Plum in outer V, and Pink on the brow bone. Plus, Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blaquer in upper lash line, Rimmel ScandalEyes Retroglam Mascara, Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Desert Beige, RCMA No Color Powder, Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Bronzer 02 under my cheekbones near my hairline, Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Monster on cheekbones, and NARS Audacious Lipstick in Barbara. Plus my everyday usuals: Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled, ABH Brow Wiz in Granite, and Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Light Neutral.
Most Used Products (besides everyday usuals):
Dior Backstage Cool Eyeshadow Palette and NARS Audacious Lipstick in Barbara. Not makeup, but for the past several months, my everyday daytime scent has been Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic, a gorgeous blend of mandarin orange and fresh basil that’s perfect for the office.
New Beauty Discoveries:
Essence Satin Touch Blush in Satin Love. (The shade name makes me laugh because Satin Love sounds like it should’ve been the name of a character in the movie “Boogie Nights”!) Also, I’ve owned the Colourpop Monster Highlighter for many months and have never used it because I was putting it on under my powder using my fingers and it just wasn’t working for me, so I threw it into a drawer and forgot about it. I just learned that it can be applied with a brush on top of powder and now I love it!
Skin tone: Very fair with cool undertones.
Favorite look this week: I mixed a 50/50 ratio of Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet and CYO Lifeproof foundation. For blush I used CYO blush in Just Say’in. I used Hourglass Dim Light to buff into my skin and used MAC Fix + in the Pink Shimmer shade. For eyes I used the Born to Run palette from UD. It is the only palette I have used this week. I used Dreamweaver in the inner corners, Riff for transition and Big Sky over the entire mobile lid. For lipstick I just used Pat McGrath lip pencil in Bare Rose over the entire lip and used Nuxe Reve de Mele lip balm over it.
Most used product this week: UD Born To Run palette.
New beauty discoveries: Not really but I do have to say that I learned a lesson or rather had an experience that supported a lesson. I had looked at the UD Born to Run palette in a Sephora in Bellvue, Washington. The palette had clearly been aggressively used and so when I swatched the shades they were very muddy looking and the pans felt like the were developing hard pan already. I decided I was going to pass on the palette and was kind of bummed about that since I planned on it being my European palette. I happened to go to the Nordstrom’s in the Bellvue area and actually didn’t notice the UD palette there but then my daughter brought it to me and it was beautiful. Clearly had been swatched a few times but the palette was cleaned up. Extra eye shadow that can collect on the outside of the pans had been cleaned off and none of the shades had contaminated the other shades. When I swatched them I knew it was the palette for me. I have oft times been aware that at the Sephora’s that I go to, the product testers are not maintained. The SA’s are standing around talking and not keeping the product clean, the shelves arranged, etc. I wouldn’t have purchased the palette based on my first impression at Sephora and ultimately, Sephora lost the sale as I purchased it at Nordstrom’s.
I’ve had the same experience at Sephoras near me. Their testers are a mess and often all out of place. The stock is really low, and they’re often out of at least 1/3 of the shades. One of the Sephoras near me does not carry the latest Marc Jacobs Enamored Glosses, though they have the rest of the MJ products, and when I asked about them, the SA looked at me as if I was making it up, but the Sephora just 12 miles away has a full stock of the MJ Enamored Gloss. Sephora is just so unreliable.
(Side note: Christine, when I’m on Temptalia I constantly get scam pop-ups saying I have won a prize at Amazon. It only happens to me on Temptalia. I don’t know where this problem lies, but I thought I should let you know.)
Hi Seraphine!
If you could send me a screen shot, that would be most appreciated! I can then send that to our ad team and they can try to figure it out (it’s a rogue ad – it’s not accepted IN the network either, but they still get through, unfortunately, at times).
It just happened as I was about to answer here. I’ll send it to you.
Thank you! My email is christine[at]temptalia.com.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you’ve worn: EYES — UDPP in Enigma. Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Single in Panther to smoke out Magic Moor and smudge out eyeliner. MUG Highlighter in Celestial (brow bone, inner corner). UD 24/7 Pencil in Perversion (upper and lower lashlines; upper waterline). NYX Worth the Hype Mascara. CHEEKS — Physician’s Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose (cheeks and hairline). LIPS — MAC x Aaliyah Lipstick in Street Thing. FACE — NYX Angel Veil primer; BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Foundation in Ivory; RCMA No Color Powder; Sephora Tranquil (contour); MUG HL in Celestial; e.l.f. Original Mist & Set.
Most used product of the week: Tarte LE Blush in Fairy Flush
Any new beauty discoveries: I’m liking the Tarte Fairy stuff. The Fairy Flush Blush is a lovely everyday blush for fair skin. The Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Palette is very nice. I love the colors in it. The mattes are soft and powdery, but they blend beautifully. Extra Points for the sparkly pink star packaging. 🙂
My skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin (foundation matches: L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist EF Light 2), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde and blue streaks
Favorite look you worn: The first one that comes to mind is yesterday: combination of L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion C3 Creamy Natural and UD All Nighter 2.5 foundations, Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin 10 Ivory concealer, CoverGirl 120 Creamy Natural powder, NARS Satellite of Love highlighting blush, UD Slowburn* on lid, NARS x Erdem Hollyhock in crease, Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin Lash Amplifying Lacquer, CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte Crimson Cat lipstick
Most used product of the week: My usual base products
Any new beauty discoveries: None to note this week.
*same UD Electric palette note: red pigment in Slowburn/Savage/Jilted/Urban deemed safe in Europe but untested by US FDA, don’t tightline your eyes with it, don’t use it on eyes at all if you have sensitive eyes
Ski tone is usually medium beige in foundation terms however I have a tan at the moment as we are having a great Summer here in the UK.
I swapped my TF Sweet Peach palette for my daughter’s Naked 3 as the colours were creasing on me. Love the looks I wore from this palette.
UD Easy blush. Am panning this and am hopeful that it will be gone this week.
I bought a MAC Paint pot in Bare Study yesterday having tried my daughter’s in Soft Ochre.
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look you wore: I honestly can’t think of one; it’s been hot so I’ve been pretty minimal
Most used product of the week: LRP fluid sunscreen and Sephora Cappuccino pencil liner
Any new beauty discoveries: I “discovered” where I’d put my ABH Legend eyeshadow! I was starting to doubt my sanity as to whether I actually own it or was just hallucinating having owned it…. I’d moved it into a different palette and had forgotten about the “move”. I was so happy to find it after looking for a while and then being bugged by not finding it for even longer when suddenly the lightbulb went off! Years ago, someone told me there is an old Greek saying that God takes away a Greek’s donkey so he can have the joy of finding it again! It’s such a truism – if you’ve ever lost or mislaid something only to find it again, the happiness is much better than buying a new item to replace the missing one!
