Apricotine

Viseart Apricotine Petit Pro Palette ($30.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a warmer, more orange/peach driven set of neutrals with four mattes and four shimmers. The mattes were lovely to work with and gave me no trouble at all, but two of the shimmers–Grenadine (dusty, prone to sheering out) and Mimolette (less foolproof to apply)–could have been more pigmented and easier to apply over bare skin.

Meringue

Meringue is a light-medium peach with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, velvety consistency that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with ease. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me before it started to fade.

Formula Overview

-

The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.

The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Praline

Praline is a soft, light-medium brown with warmer undertones and a matte finish. The color coverage was opaque in a single layer, while the consistency felt smooth and finely-milled. The eyeshadow applied evenly and blended out with little effort. This shade lasted well on my lid for eight hours before I noticed some fading.

Apricotine

Apricotine is a pop of medium orange with warmer undertones and a satin sheen. It had a stronger yellower undertone but still retained its overall orange hue. The consistency was soft, a little dusty in the pan, but it applied evenly with full coverage to my skin and blended out easily without losing its intensity. It wore well for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Dolce

Dolce is a deeper brown with warm, reddish undertones and a matte finish. It seemed to have more of a “natural matte” finish when applied and buffed into my skin as it retained some of the natural oils rather than looking drier or dusty on. It had opaque color coverage that adhered well to my skin and blended out without difficulty. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before it started to show signs of fading.

Sugared

Sugared is a bright, light gold with warm, peachy undertones and a metallic sheen. It was intensely metallic–much, much more shimmery and reflective compared to the other shimmers in the palette. It had opaque color coverage that applied smoothly and evenly to my lid, while the edges blended out beautifully. The color lasted well for eight hours on me before it started to fade a bit.

Grenadine

Grenadine is a brighter, light-medium coral with warmer undertones and a golden sheen. It had good color coverage, but it had a tendency to sheer out on my skin without a tackier base or a dampened brush to amplify it. The texture felt drier, on the dustier side, and there was slight fallout as I blended it out. I highly recommend using this shade with a dampened brush, which fixed all the issues I had with it. On me, it wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Bourbon is a medium bronze with warm, reddish undertones and a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, smooth, and blendable with a touch of powderiness the pan. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me before it started to fade.

Mimolette

Mimolette is a medium-dark copper with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single layer, while the texture felt more loosely-pressed and had some dustiness in the pan that resulted in slight fallout during application. I found it easiest to work with by pressing and patting onto my skin and pulling in one directly, then blending out the edges, which helped to apply the product more evenly and with less fallout–or you could use a dampened brush. It lasted well for eight hours on me before I noticed slight fading.

I adore this packaging. There is something about this palette that really speaks to me… even though I don’t prefer myself in warm tones. I do like peaches vs. reddish colors and think I can make this work (and gosh it is pretty) so I might be saving some $$$ for this – although since it is LE not sure I’ll be able to get my hands on it.

Pretty shades that have all been done to death. I have a funny sense of humor. Whenever I see an expensive eye shadow palette with a tone of dupes from ColourPop, I think it is funny!! I like this size palette fro Viseart but just this particular one isn’t for me. I am waiting for something more unique to use up my two palette restriction, for the year.

AB Avatar

I’m ridiculously tempted, but I already have Viseart’s Siren palette. This is such a neat and comprehensive little palette though, and not really much by way of direct dupes.
I have to push myself away from this table, think about it.

Bonnie Avatar

I thought I was over all of the warm, orange-toned palettes, but this one is pretty and I want it! Lol
It’s great that the mattes performed well; that’s very important to me. I’m really drawn to grenadine – appreciate your application advice for that shade.
Love the combination of Pickled Ginger and Bronze Pearl (and gold) that you did for your lips! You’re so creative!

Robin Avatar

If I already own Viseart Tryst, Petit Pro 2 and 3, and ND Sunset Palette (original), plus KVD MetalMatte Mini Palette; does this palette offer any/many unique shades
e. g.; not contained in those others?

Christine Avatar

Hi Robin,

If you add the palettes you have to your vanity, you can see what dupes you own in this palette! 🙂 Without doing the same, it’s hard for me to remember which shade goes to what palette off by name only. It sounds like you have plenty of palettes, though.

Maribeth Avatar

I love these little Petit Pro palettes as they are reasonably priced & a great way for a Viseart intro.
I can’t pull off orange, however. It’s just not to be. But it’s a joy to look at and read the reviews!

FeFe Avatar

not groundbreaking, especially if you already have Viseart siren already, but the first three shades on the first row (from left to right) are pretty!
