Vieve Comin' in Haute & Powersuit Modern Matte Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Comin' in Haute
Vieve Comin’ in Haute Modern Matte Lipstick ($26.50 for 0.1 oz.) is a light-medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and comfortably across my lips with light glide but little creaminess, so it didn’t slide around during wear.
There was slight product that settled into my lip lines initially, but it didn’t worsen and wasn’t enough to be apparent in person. It wore well for four hours and was lightly hydrating.

The lipstick is supposed to be "creamy, comfortable, and powerfully pigmented" while being hydrating over time. They were semi-opaque to opaque in color coverage, while the texture felt slightly firm, thin (but not clingy), and had more glide than I would have expected based on the initial feel of the bullet against my lips.
What was most surprising was that they applied evenly for the most part (and the range of hues runs lighter), and they were fairly forgiving of lip texture (but a few settled into my lip lines a bit), and did seem like a "modern matte" yet wasn't heavy on the silicones in feel like a lot of current matte formulas are. The shades lasted between four and six hours on me and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Power Suit
Vieve Power Suit Modern Matte Lipstick ($26.50 for 0.1 oz.) is a rich, caramel brown with warmer, more orange undertones and a satin finish. It had intense pigmentation in a single stroke, which applied evenly to my lips and was comfortable to wear. The texture was just barely creamy, a bit firmer in the tube and somewhat thin, but I didn’t find it clingy at all.
There was a bit of product that accumulated in my deeper lip lines that was visible in the close-up photo but not in person. It stayed on well for four and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing.

Even though I really love shades like this on others, I don’t believe that anything with this strong of a yellow base would favor my not-so-white older teeth! I do wish that I could wear these types of more grungy neutral lipsticks, though.
Whilst I think the quality of these lipsticks is pretty good (although they are a bit pricey), these shades are not quite for me with their yellowish undertones. Power Suit would be my favourite out of the two.
I find these types of colors so, sooo flattering on my pale (probably neutral to yellowish undertones, hard to say with the red layer of rosacea on top) skin. So much more so than pinks and mauves. I love seeing them offered in such lovely packaging too!
