Just… bad.

Where is the beautiful, rich purple? Who is that highlighter highlighting? Where is the white pigment in the pencil.

My first thought was shades that are easily dupable in the small collection I already have (mostly SG and MUG). Bold generation looks interesting, but I was expecting vibrant, unique colors, especially purples.

Well, now we know what they did with the leftover shadows from those mini Decades palettes. 😐

Thank you very much for the swatches; I was wondering if I might be interested in the lighter of the two eyeshadow palettes but both are very underwhelming.

glad I’m not the only one who felt like these are similar to the decades shades. Those palettes were barely in store for a season.

Whyyyy? Urban Decay? Why did you have to go and ruin everything by going vegan? You used to manufacture some of the BEST purples! Those are not present in Let’s Go Crazy. That’s the one that I, as a die-hard Prince fan, was most excited for!
And yet, I’ve got to admit that you did nail You’ve Got The Look quality wise. Wish it was far more daring and made me think “Prince”. It only does so halfway.
I’m feeling so sad and crestfallen in disappointment.

Disagree with the vegan part. Prince was a vegan. Animals shouldn’t suffer for beauty. That being said, UD quality has gone down and there are so many better vegan makeup options available now. Im a fan far beyond his mainstream too and I’d guess he wouldn’t have signed in to this collab or most others while living, or it would have been done.

I’m glad I passed on pre-order. This is…underwhelming. There’s a few decent shades, but some are patchy and overall this just looks so muted and not at all representative of what I think of when I think of Prince. I just wanted this to be more rich and luxurious – I wanted the metallics to be shinier, the colors more saturated, the purples…so very much not that. Even the white is blah and not a crisp white like he wore. And for a man whose eyeliner game was on point – I expected those to be exemplary. UD did him dirty. The only interesting thing about this release is the packaging.

This collection is so painful. I loved Prince and this collection isn’t him. The shades don’t represent how vibrant and beautiful and groundbreaking that man was. I was going to buy this collection, and I just can’t justify it now. It’s heartbreaking.

I was all ready to get it until I saw how extremely underwhelming it is…what a huge waste of an amazing opportunity!!! I’m actually disgusted…and for $250??? The biggest NO in the world to me!!! I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone.

I want to like this but the color story is all wrong. Where is the peach for Sign O’the Times? I am a huge Prince fan from wayyy back, 1981. And I am skipping this. Thank you for exploring it for us.

Did the Urban Decay Board forget this was a biracial man and he had loads of fans much darker than him heck this mess would barely work for him. The eyeliners and highlighter are HOT GARBAGE and I’m offended this is what was put out. I didn’t have high hopes but UD is over in my book has been for awhile.

I am really surprised by the one “sequin” eyeshadow! I have never seen Urban Decay do this and hope it doesn’t become a regular thing.

It’s a shame to see how poorly all the purples swatched. I was hoping the eyeshadow palettes would have bold purples and other jewel tones. Anything that was deeply saturated.

The palettes looked uninspired so the swatches are appropriately underwhelming. The neutral palette will fare better than the faded purple one since it’s easy to screw up purple. And there are 4 interchangeable purple shades in different finishes, from the looks of things.
I think these palettes are made to be displayed, perhaps more than be used.
And even then, I wouldn’t want them on my vanity.

A Pat McGrath collab would be lovely – perhaps a mothership in black lacquer with the PMG and Prince logos on the front – that I would buy in a heartbeat, swatches unseen. And Mother would put these pathetic purples to shame.

Gonna go watch the Super Bowl version of Purple Rain now 🤟😜🤟

This may be hoping against all hope but, perhaps the shadows are better in application than in swatches? I worked in the music business for the better part of 20 years, all through the 80s and 90s, and my love of Prince is probably swaying me more than the first impressions of these palettes: I’m still leaning towards purchasing them.

Easy pass. There should be a lot of shame thrown in the direction of lazy ideas, shitty formulas, and boring packaging for the sake of squeezing money out of suckers.
