Beauty Beam

Urban Decay Beauty Beam Kristen Leanne Highlighter Trio ($34.00 for 0.38 oz.) contains three, luminous highlighters that range from copper to soft yellow to peach. All three shades were undeniably warm-toned, so I don’t expect it will appeal to everyone as a result. I only had slight issues with less pigmentation and a ever-so-slightly less-creamy texture with the third shade in the palette, but all three performed well.

Beauty Beam #1

Beauty Beam #1 is a medium copper with warm, orange undertones and a luminous sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, moderately dense consistency that felt like a hybrid between cream and powder as it was so smooth and soft but not at all powdery. It blended out easily on the skin and lasted for nine hours on me.

Beauty Beam #2

Beauty Beam #2 is a light yellow with warm undertones and a luminous finish. It was less golden compared to the typical gold highlighter–more yellow than gold, which can lean more orange!–but still warm-toned overall. The texture was smooth and soft, just as cream-like as the first shade, so it applied well and blended out with little effort. It started to fade on me after nine hours of wear.

Beauty Beam #3

Beauty Beam #3 is a light-medium, peachy copper with warm undertones and softly metallic sheen. The consistency seemed slightly denser compared to the other two shades but applied similarly (I didn’t notice the difference in practice, only by feel). It had good color coverage that was buildable to full coverage with two layers. The highlighter had a strong sheen but did not accentuate my skin’s natural texture. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours on me.

Great grade on this little palette, I know I wouldn’t be able to use the first/darkest color so its not a good buy for me, but a nice one for medium and darker skin tones.

The colors are very pretty! But if there is 1 things I absolutely cannot stand when it comes to makeup is different shades in the same pan. I can see how someone might want to easily mix them, but I find I can do that just dabbing into each pan. I need all different shades in different pans!
