Urban Decay x Alice Through the Looking Glass Lipsticks Review, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass Lipstick
Urban Decay Mirana Alice Through the Looking Glass Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “matte berry with tonal shimmer.” It’s a deep burgundy with cool undertones and ruby micro-shimmer and sparkle. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a creamy, lightweight texture that had just a bit more slip than I’d think is ideal for such a deep shade. Some color gathered into lip lines, and as it wasn’t totally opaque, it appeared uneven in places. This shade wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating. Tom Ford Beauty Jon (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, glossier (95% similar). MAC Jasper (LE, $19.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Makeup Geek Acoustic (P, $15.00) is warmer, glossier (90% similar). Urban Decay Double Crossed (DC, $18.00) is more shimmery, darker (85% similar). Revlon Black Cherry (P, $8.49) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). NYX Biker Babe (P, $7.50) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). Dior Dark Sparkle (073) (LE, $40.00) is less shimmery, warmer (85% similar). Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Black Metal Dahlia (DC, $18.00) is more shimmery, lighter, brighter (80% similar). KVD Beauty Mercy (DC, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). NARS Heroine Red (P, $26.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). MAC Musky Amethyst (LE, $19.00) is lighter, more muted (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Urban Decay Iracebeth Alice Through the Looking Glass Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “bright red matte.” It’s a bold, bright, pinky-red with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It was intensely pigmented with a creamy, lightweight texture that applied smooth, even color without tugging on the lips. This shade wore well for six hours and was lightly hydrating. MAC Damn Glamorous (LE, $19.00) is warmer (95% similar). Makeup Geek Trophy Wife (P, $12.00) is cooler (95% similar). Urban Decay Red Hot (LE, $18.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Carmine Rouge (LE, $30.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). MAC Victoriana (LE, $19.00) is lighter, brighter (95% similar). Clinique Cherry Pop (P, $19.50) is darker (90% similar). NARS Luxembourg (PiP, $25.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). NARS Cherry Bomb (LE, $26.00) is more muted (95% similar). NYX Perfect Red (P, $6.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). MAC Blue Blood (LE, $19.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC Lasting Passion (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Glam (DC, $19.00) is brighter (90% similar). MAC Frenesi (LE, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). ColourPop Nu Wave (LE, $10.00) is cooler, glossier (90% similar). Givenchy Rouge Interdit (13) (P, $34.00) is less shimmery, warmer, glossier (90% similar). Milani Romance (LE, $8.99) is darker, more muted, less glossy (85% similar). KVD Beauty Outlaw (P, $19.00) is darker (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty LA Woman (P, $60.00) is darker (85% similar). Chanel Incantevole (184) (LE, $45.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Pomegranate (LE, $25.00) is cooler (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Iracebeth is just my kind of colour❤️
Yay! The best one!
Iracebeth is the first shade from this collection that I’d probably actually wear 🙂
That’s great!
Another awesome review! Would you say the formula of Iracebeth is similar to the Matte Revolution lipsticks from Urban Decay?
Yes!
Iracebeth looks very similar to Colorpop Frenchie. I can’t find a review of Frenchie on Temptalia but it sure reminds me of it. Could anyone confirm?
It could be!
Mirana is pretty, but I’m saving my money for the more unique colors, Mad Hatter and possibly Time
Not a bad plan!
I have been dying to read your review for Iracebeth. In the meantime I’ve been drooling over the swatches. So happy it not only received an A+ but a spot on your “recommended” list! I have a million reds but none of the dupes so I pretty much need it. 😉
It is a really nice one!
Both are lovely. Iracebeth is just a real winner. It might be too similar to Phone Call to warrant a purchase though.
Iracebeth is a nice one!
These lipsticks look better than I previously thought. But I think OCC’s Black Metal Dahlia and Technopagan would probably be more satisfactory than some of these. The biggest winner so far looks like Iracebeth.
Some of them are nice 🙂 Technopagan is better, for sure.
The red is utterly exquisite, and I’m a beige, nude, boring ole pink lippie girl. I used to wear red all the time until 1994, then I stopped, must get over the phobia. The score is perfect and it’s reasonable for a high quality product.
Off topic, HUGE KUDOS to CHRISTINE!!! I just received an email from Nars, and it was all about YOUR TOP REVIEWS!!!! How fabulous is that?!! Jolly good show????
Thank you! 🙂
Beautiful rich shades! But I’m good to go with my tube of MAC Damn Glamorous for Iracebeth. Possibly covered with MAC Media for Mirana? I didn’t see it listed as a possible dupe, though.
Media doesn’t have the shimmer that Mirana has, so that would likely be why it wasn’t considered when I thought about dupes!
Ahh, that definitely makes sense, come to think of it. Close in color, but not finish.
I have a feeling Iracebeth will sell out fast. I think I’m going to pass on the palette now and just get 2 or 3 lipsticks. At least, I’m eating until it gets to Sephora . When I see it in person, I may cave at the esthetic. Thanks for the through reviews!?
My pleasure, Nicole! Hope you’re well.
Thanks for asking Christine. I’m sorry I haven’t been commenting as much lately. I’m okay. Just taking managing. I have put my house up for sale and applied for a few jobs all at once. So, it’s been pretty crazy! I still read it all! ?❤️
Oh, congrats and good luck, Nicole! 🙂
That’s a really beautiful red! Oy!!
Agreed!
Iracebeth looks like exactly the red I’ve been looking for and I like this packaging – I’m glad it performed well! Looks like one to (hopefully) pick up!
The packaging is pretty 🙂
I love Iracebeth, I’d snap it up in a second if I didn’t have Cherry Pop already! I like Mirana, just a shame it didn’t perform better.
I hear you! Mirana could have been a real winner if it performed better.
Although I’m not buying them I like them both. The lipsticks in my opinion have been way better than the Alice in Wonderland palette.
Opps! It should read Alice Through the Looking Glass palette.
I think they’re at least easier to use/more workable. The UD palette, for me, is just a little more frustrating to use than I’d want to deal with.
I actually really like both of these. I know Mirana has its problems but I still think I could make it work. I’m looking forward to seeing these in person. Thanks Christine!
My pleasure, Gillian!
These are marginally better than the ones from yesterday! I really wished they were a better quality! These are so collectible-worthy!
Aww!
Interesting twist… I have one of the older Book of Shadows & it’s just sooooo clunky & just an all-around beast. I’d think this is perfect for beginners and collectors.
On a side note, I got an email from Nars today that was titled “Shade rave. Temptalia’s favorites”! I was super psyched to see it!
Aw! Glad you caught the email 🙂
I kind of want IRACEBETH just because it’s named after and for the Red Queen. I made and still have a recreation costume of hers when the first Tim’ Burton movie came out. lol
Aww! That is so very cool. Maybe if you know you’ll wear the costume again you can wear it with it?!
I think her shade is a deeper red but I could be wrong! Last time I also got the OPI polish in Off with her Red! which was a colour dupe that I did use. <3
It helps that I don't have a red dupe for this one and I like the packaging.
I’m glad to see that Mirana scored decently, because I love that deep berry color.
Woohoo 🙂
OMG, I definitely need Mirana. I only wish the LE were more easily accessible in the Rest of the World, we don’t have Sephora in Switzerland (yet).
Mirana is cool! Not many shades like it have the shimmer that it does.
These looks absolutely amazing!
Glad you enjoyed seeing them, Ida!
Iracebeth is a beautiful red <3 your lip swatches are to die for! xo
Thanks!
Iracebeth is amazing; MAC never fails with the reds. Mirana will be very pretty over a lipliner. I have Victoriana and Black Metal Dahlia, so I’ll worry most about getting the three more unique colors.
Red seems to be the one lip color that is hard to mess up!
I’m so glad I don’t have any of your listed dupes for the red!!! What a gorgeous lippie! Def will get this one.
Iracebeth is the only one I’d get. Maybe Alice too.
