Urban Decay Uncut Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “smoky purple with a reddish shimmer.” It’s a darkened eggplant purple with burgundy-red undertones and a shimmery, frosted finish. MAC Rich Core is more muted, less red-toned. NARS Calabria is very similar but a cream product. Make Up For Ever #311 is less purple, more burgundy. Le Metier de Beaute Fig is less shimmery.

It’s a new (and permanent!) shade that launches February 1st at Urban Decay as well as in Sephora in JCP stores. Uncut has fantastic, rich color payoff, but I noticed a particularly drier, flakier finish compared to other Urban Decay eyeshadows. It’s not as soft or as buttery as other shades in the formula. This shade left a slew of fall out in its wake as I applied it, so it’s the kind of product I’d recommend applying prior to your base products, because full clean-up is required. It is, however, still blendable and pigmented, even though drier textures tend to hurt both of those characteristics. It also lasted a full nine hours on the lid (no primer) without fading or creasing; and despite the fall out woes during application, there was only a very minor amount (barely noticeable) during wear.

I thought for sure I’d be wanting this shadow but I am just losing my patience with glitter – I don’t want to have to deal with it – so I think I will likely pass on this one (or maybe not….)

This looks so pretty in your swatch. It was on top of my list from all these new shades, but after I compared it to LMdB Fig I’m pretty sure it won’t work for me at all. Fig is such a muddy brownish bruise color on me 🙁

How does this compair with Last call? it seems a little more purple with some glitter? Also are these shades not going to be available in Ulta? Reveiws go a long way in the desision process but I like feel a shadow before I buy it.

Does Urban Decay’s Rockstar compare at all? From the swatches, I think Rockstar is a bit more red/pink tone which makes it hard to wear on my pinky fair skin.
