Are You Trashed With Milky Pinks?

Urban Decay Trashed Lip Junkie ($19.00 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright pink shimmer.” It’s a subdued, fuchsia pink with silver shimmer and sparkle. Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle has larger sparkle but is less densely-packed with it. MAC Floating Lotus is very similar.

It looks pinker and bolder in the tube than applied–it is really a sheer layer of pink that enhances any natural pink coloring and then has a fair amount of small-sized shimmer.  Unfortunately, Urban Decay didn’t describe it as sheer, even though they definitely use the term for some sheer shades of Lip Junkies, as the range has sheer and semi-sheer colors.  Since it doesn’t have a lot of color, it applies evenly easily, and there’s no settling of the color into lip lines.  The downside is that it only wore for two and a half hours, but it was hydrating both during and post-wear even after wearing it twice in a row.  It has a non-sticky texture that’s not too thick or too thin, and because it’s not sticky, it glides on readily. It has a sweet mint scent and flavor.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I was in Ulta today and they had an UD rep there showing one of the employees the new products. I overheard them talking about the new stuff (Flushed pallet, bb cream, and the glosses) and since I was dying to try that stuff I said hey you can use me as a guinea pig and the rep put on the new bronzer, highlighter and blush on me as well as the trashed lip gloss. I liked the flushed pallet more than I was expecting to, and the lip gloss was pretty nice. Yes it is a little on the sticky side, kind of sparkly for everyday, and sheer. But it’s a perfect if you lips are pretty pigmented to begin with…usually I cheap out on glosses but I may have to splurge on this. Loved it!
Your eye makeup looks beautiful! I’m tempted to get the ammo pallet but I already have half those shades in individuals, oh well! 🙂

Meh. Nothing too exciting about this. To me, lip glosses are better priced around $5-$10 (or less)… there are so many great, inexpensive options that I can’t imagine many people would pay $19 unless there was something really innovative or unique about it

Hi Christine – what kind of applicator do the UD Lip Junkies have? Doe foot, brush or a plastic tip like Illamasqua’s old gloss packaging?
Thanks! 🙂
