High Vibes

Urban Decay High Vibes 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) has a blackened-brown base with warmer, olive undertones and flecks of goldish-green and emerald green sparkle and micro-glitter. It had semi-sheer coverage in a single layer, which applied unevenly and did not build up as well as it should have.

The sparkly/glittery bits seemed to push the underlying base color around and seemed more responsible for the poorer application of the product as a whole. The texture was not as smooth (due to the sparkle/micro-glitter!) and seemed a bit drier than most of the brand’s pencils. It stayed on for eight hours before fading/thinning and had light fallout as well.

Formula Overview

$22.00/0.04 oz. - $550.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to go on "smoothly, stay soft and super-creamy for blending" before it "dries to a long-lasting finish that won't budge" with "intense" coverage. I'm a long-time fan and user of the formula--almost a decade now--and they're still a go-to. I keep a handful of formulas at my fingertips, and I have all of the shades from this range in a cup within reach.

It isn't the longest-wearing formula I've come across, but I find that it balances longevity with creaminess in application and ease of removal at the end. They also wear away "kindly," so while the line might get thinner, it doesn't drag or bleed toward my under eye area. The formula has solid, long-wear at eight to 10 hours before fading, thinning, or having a bit of migration to the outer corner. The less shimmery shades tend to have the most visible movement, whereas the more shimmery shades tend to fade or thin.

The pigmentation varies a lot from shade to shade with more matte shades often having the most coverage in a single layer, followed by more metallic finishes. The more glittery the finish, the weaker the coverage and application were. Many of the shades in the range are buildable and apply with near-to or opaque coverage when applied in short, overlapping strokes. The majority are very comfortable to apply on the lower lash line or waterline.

They have a creamy, glide-on consistency as promised, and they can be smudged or blended out, so they are particularly useful for someone who likes a more diffused look for their eyeliner.

As someone who has had a lot of these eyeliners over time, I can attest to the fact that they do not dry out readily. Some of the shades I have that I don't use (because they're THAT old) are still creamy and glide-on when swatched.

Reflect

Urban Decay Reflect 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a darker, olive golden with moderate, warm undertones and green pearl and flecks of gold sparkle throughout. It had good color coverage in a single layer, though it did not apply as smoothly or as evenly as desired on the lash line as the formula was firmer and stiffer with a dryness I wouldn’t expect from it. This is a formula I normally reach for on the regular, so it was quite the unfortunate surprise. It wore decently for eight hours before fading/thinning over time.

Raw Energy

Urban Decay Raw Energy 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium purple with strong, warm pink undertones and flecks of blue and purple micro-glitter. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in a single stroke, which was buildable to semi-opaque coverage, though it was somewhat uneven and looked jagged along the edge as the formula seemed on the drier side. It lasted for eight hours with light fallout over time.

Tiger's Eye

Urban Decay Tiger’s Eye 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) has a warmer, rosy-brown base with flecks of purple, green, and pink sparkle throughout. It had sheer coverage, which I could build to mostly opaque coverage but had to use such a firm pressure that it was unrealistic (read: painful) to do so on the actual lash line. The sparkles/micro-glitter pushed around the base product, which pulled into fine lines and looked jagged along the edge as it was a drier, stiffer formula. It stayed on for eight hours but had fallout over time.

Oh wow… :o( That sucks. I have the olive green one and mine wasn’t dry… but I have had some of their eye pencils that were dry, particularly the ones in the mini-sets. There was one blue one I remember that just didn’t work because it was so dry. I’m so grateful the olive one I bought isn’t like the one you described! I like them when they’re creamy and glide on.

Too bad these shades are pretty uniformly bad. I really love the shades, too. I had such high hopes for Raw Energy. Oh well, another product I can forget about!!

Yikes! These are my go-to as well. I was excited about this whole collection, but it looks like I’ll be saying no to Stoned Vibes.

High Vibes and Tiger’s Eye are so pretty, I’m very disappointed in their poor performance. 🙁 What is going on with Urban Decay lately?

i have a ton of UD liners from over the years and the sparkle finish has never really been this much of an issue. The worst is a bit of fall out usually. this is so disappointing to see 🙁

Normally that purple would be calling for me but not when I can get a better shimmery/metallic one that’s cheaper.

Stop making bad purples. I WANT to buy your purples!

Ha! Sparkle eyeliners are my jam. I almost purchased these, then I paused and thought that I could probably dupe them so I sat on the fence and waited, so glad I did! UD usually has beautiful eyeliners, I have quite a collection of them as they are hard to resist glad I did in this case.

To look on the bright side of things, I haven’t bought an F before, lol. Popped a couple of the Stoned liners in at the Ulta sale, even though they weren’t on sale. Might have to violate my personal rule of not returning, when it’s my fault. I never thought they’d go below a B-. Shame on me for not waiting for your review. I think I just totally broke up with UD. Screwing up 24/7 liners? Never happen. Well it did, and I ate it.

OMG – just like the Stoned palette – totally underwhelming. The thing is, once upon a time, UD made the best eye pencils around. Just look at Stash – the first dupe of the olive shade.
I wonder when brands are going to realise that glitter in eye products doesn’t equal success…

Ouch! Urban Decay has fallen so far with these. Once upon a time they were my favorite liners do to the quality and range of colors.

All I have to say to this collection is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Urban Decay usually doesn’t mess up its eyeliners. The whole collection seems slapped together with too many formula risks; the eyeshadows especially have a new formula that just doesn’t seem to apply well at all. It really sucks when the whole collection is a dud. I liked the colors and how the eyeshadow & liners looked on the surface. This is really unfortunate.

These looked so pretty, but I don’t want dry and potentially scratchy or glitter fall out from my eye liners! I was very interested in Tiger Eye because the swatch looks like a very interesting and beautiful color, but no way jose am I going to put that near my eyes. Too bad the formula on these is not a good one, they looked promising.

Brutal quality! I ordinarily quite like the 24/7 liners, but these…! I honestly think that most brands don’t care very much about their holiday releases when it comes to quality. If it looks sparkly and shiny, they figure most potential customers will take the plunge. Many even use different factories and cheaper ingredients. TBH, I hate that.
