Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick
To recap, the new Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is supposed to have “sheer, pigmented color” with a “high-shine finish” and “buttery-smooth application.” The texture is thicker than traditional lip balm, but it has the “stiffer” feel where it starts to melt upon contact of the lips. It isn’t as thick or as creamy as the original Revolution formula (and obviously, these aren’t as pigmented). The pigmentation is semi-sheer to semi-opaque noticeable translucency but still that “sheer (yet still pigmented!)” color they seemed to be after. I wish I found these hydrating, but they weren’t drying either.
Urban Decay Sheer Obsessed Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer baby pink.” It’s a light-medium, slightly muted, rosy pink with cool undertones and a light shine. This one was semi-sheer to semi-opaque and tended to look uneven any time I pressed my lips together. It’s just thick enough where it can do that, but it doesn’t feel heavy on. It lasted for four hours on me. Bite Beauty Lavender (P, $24.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Snapdragon (LE, $16.00) is sheerer, shimmery. Bobbi Brown Pink Flush (LE, $25.00) is warmer. MAC What a Feeling! (LE, $20.00) is similar. Too Faced Razzle Dazzle Rose (P, $22.00) is similar. Urban Decay Obsessed (P, $22.00) is more opaque, lighter. NARS Roman Holiday (P, $26.00) is similar. MAC Divine Choice (P, $22.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Urban Decay Sheer Liar Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer pinky-brown nude.” It’s a muted, medium brown with a hint of rose and a light shine. It had semi-opaque color coverage that went on fairly evenly and smoothly. It was comfortable to wear and almost a little hydrating on me over the four hours it lasted. Buxom Dolly (LE, $21.00) is less glossy. Estee Lauder Irresistible (P, $30.00) is more opaque. MAC Fresh and Frisky (LE, $20.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Strip (P, $22.00) is darker. Revlon Pink Truffle (P, $7.49) is similar. Urban Decay Liar (P, $22.00) is warmer, more opaque. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Urban Decay Sheer Streak Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer coral-pink.” It’s a lightly brightened, pink-coral with warm undertones and a luminous finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that went on evenly and glided without tugging on the lips. It was comfortable to wear and easy to apply. This shade lasted for four hours on me. MAC Love Temple (LE, $22.00) is warmer, brighter. MAC Phosphorescent (LE, $17.00) is pinker. Givenchy Corail Decollete (303) (P, $36.00) is less glossy. Givenchy Rose Boudoir (204) (P, $36.00) is a touch pinker. Revlon Snow Peach (LE, $7.99) is brighter. MAC Be a Lady (P, $22.00) is pinker lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Paradiso (07) (LE, $49.00) is brighter. Guerlain Attrape-Coeur (171) (LE, $35.00) is brighter. MAC Love Beam (LE, $20.00) is darker. Too Faced Bon Bon (P, $22.00) is glossier, warmer. Urban Decay Fiend (P, $22.00) is more opaque, more muted. Urban Decay Streak (P, $22.00) is lighter. Guerlain Georgia (P, $51.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Urban Decay Sheer Walk of Shame Sheer Revolution Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “sheer pale nude-pink.” It’s a sheer, golden beige with subtle gold pearl. It almost looked like it was going to veer towards clear when I swatched it, but it does actually have more color to its base. It noticeably lightened my lip color and muted my lip freckle, but it doesn’t apply all that evenly and tended to pull into lip lines a bit. I didn’t feel like it settled much more over time, but this shade only lasted three hours. Burberry Gold No. 217 (LE, $33.00) is sheerer. Chanel Volage (227) (LE, $34.00) is less glossy. Chanel Satisfaction (89) (P, $35.00) is similar. Chanel Charmeuse (142) (LE, $34.00) is warmer. MAC Fleur d’Coral (LE, $16.00) is similar. Marc Jacobs Beauty Moody Margot (106) (P, $30.00) is less glossy. Chanel Melba (75) (LE, $35.00) is similar. Chanel Gourmandise (76) (P, $35.00) is sheerer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Overall do you find that these feel better and wear better/longer than Mac Lustres? (from one Lustre-hater to another lol).
Yes, they wear longer and are more comfortable to wear than Lustres! 🙂
Loving Liar.
Yay!
Liar looks like the perfect MLBB shade. I’m typically not too into sheer lipsticks but they’re nice for no-fuss looks, especially when they’re a natural-ish lip!
I liked that these were super sheer!
I’m glad these are doing reasonably well.
If only they were hydrating…
Sheer Liar and Sheer Streak are sooo pretty! It’s decided, I need a couple of these.
Awesome!
Oooh, these are SO pretty! Perfect for spring. Did someone take a bite out of Liar 🙂
I think it was overfilled or possibly slightly twisted up (the arrive with the lipstick itself below the edge of the tube, but it was above for this one).
IDK how I feel about these.
I mean if someone is looking for just a tint to even out their lips or an MLBB product that doesn’t need a lot of prep & maintenance then yeah these are great.
But on the other hand I look at this and think geez $20 for a tinted balm that doesn’t even hydrate? Seems a little out there.
Unfortunately for me, a lot of the balm-like formulas don’t do anything for me 🙁
Yeah I’ve noticed a lot of the high-end tinted balms are just kind of meh. At least these have decent color.
I really like Streak and Liar. Since they are on the warmer side of the spectrum I’d have to test in store.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts once you test it!
Considering that the original Streak is semi opaque I’m surprised that they did another Streak although Sheer Streak is more pink. 😉
It is funny how colors look when sheered out!
I need Sheer Streak, stat. Glad to know these wear pretty well.
Yay!
I don’t care for Sheer Walk of Shame at all. I’m not sure of the point of an ultra-sheer nude.
I love the others.
I’m also glad to see I’m not the only one who bumps the edges of her lipsticks on the caps. 🙂
It came like that, unfortunately 🙁 It seemed like it was slightly twisted up when I opened it!
Aw, that stinks. At least it wasn’t totally destroyed.
I’m not into the sheer colors but I had to ask, what happened to Liar?! Did it break or did you drop it?
It came like that – I think it was overfilled or it was slightly twisted-up already.
Ha, that happens. It just made me laugh, seeing most of them so perfect and then that one beat up.
I really like Liar! It looks like a very easy to wear nude
Woohoo!
There is a tie between liar and Streak.. both are beautiful wearable shades.. I see myself adding more than a few shades from this collection.. 🙂
That’s awesome! ;D
I could see myself wearing Obsessed pretty often. I also really like Liar but it kind of reminds me of Mac Ravishing, which I own.
I got the Walk of Shame and it is actually really nice. Most really light nudes look awful on me yet I continue to search for a good one (always disappointed). But this one works! It’s just sheer enough my natural color shows through enough to not be all washed out looking. Quite surprised and it seems to be a little buildible.
I know I’m late to the party, but I am loving how Sheer Liar and Sheer Streak look!!! They have a “fresh” glowy look to them, so I would love to get these for spring-summer. As always, thank you Christine!
