Urban Decay She/Hulk Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

She Hulk
Urban Decay She Hulk 13-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.406 oz.) is a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette that featured a mix of shimmers and mattes across warmer neutrals with a pop of blue and purple. There were some nice shades and some misses; the mattes were the highlight of the palette as they were pigmented and blendable. The shimmers were less consistent.

Formula Overview
$19.00/0.06 oz. - $316.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high-pigment" with "ultra-smooth color payoff with maximum blendability" while being long-wearing. The brand is confusing, as they claim "up to 12 hours."
The majority of the shades I tested were pigmented--semi-opaque to opaque--with the matte finish having the most variance. The lighter matte shades tended to be thinner, more powdery, and sheerer as a result of those texture differences. The more satin-to-pearl shimmer shades tended to be thinner, too, and they sometimes applied more unevenly or had to be built up. The higher-sheen shimmer shades tended to be pigmented, lightly creamy, and blendable with good adhesion.
They wore between eight and nine hours on average, which is solid wear time but similar to a lot of other powder eyeshadows for me, so it wasn't extra long-wearing in context.
In comparison to the last iteration of the brand's eyeshadow formula, it did not feel vastly different. The mattes seemed a little thinner and a touch more powdery, while the shimmers were a touch thicker on average with some of the more pearl-like finishes having weaker coverage and felt too firmly-pressed into the pan and looked thinner on, so they weren't as flattering to wear.

A somewhat better palette than what we have seen lately, but the shimmers overall were disappointing. Nothing like the shimmers of old.
Not as awful as I had imagined, but She Hulk with just one REAL green, and one olive shimmer just isn’t feeling all that “Hulky” for me! If there had been even 3 more really good greens, this might have been a sort of winner? 🤷🏻♀️
How do you screw up a shimmery yellow shade is beyond me. I’m looking at you, Gamma Glow. I’m no longer surprised or disappointed with Urban Decay. I, rather, am expecting an F or D from this brand as the normal rating. Bad makeup suitable in quality to the really bad movie it celebrates.
👏👏👏👏
💯
I noticed this is already 50% off on UD’s website. This whole color story leaves me confused, given the source material.
The only reason to do a She Hulk branded palette is as merch for fans of the show. I get they want crossover, they wanted it to appeal to anyone who likes eye shadow. But what they ended up with is a She Hulk palette with one real green and an olive and no real correlation to She Hulk that would bring in She Hulk fans and an overall lackluster looking palette that is apparently also low performance. Pick a lane UD, sometimes when you go out of your way to please what should have been the target audience you will end up pleasing a lot more people. Then maybe this new palette wouldnt already be 50% off.
I don’t understand how they could not realize the shimmers. But the mattes do look very nice! Disappointed in the two duochromes and Wero Warrior (not sure if it was supposed to be a duochrome or not, so faint.)
The makeup / superhero collab nobody asked for
I just picked this up at Marshalls yesterday for $14.99.
Not only are the color story and quality a mess, they managed to misspell “brawn”…unless the show has a reference to the shavers I’m not aware of.
