Urban Decay New Riff, Ember, Introvert, Bad Seed, Floored 24/7 Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
New Riff
Urban Decay New Riff 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium brown with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was soft, silky, and a smidgen powdery in the pan, but it was blendable and not prone to fallout during application. This shade wore nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$19.00/0.06 oz. - $316.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high-pigment" with "ultra-smooth color payoff with maximum blendability" while being long-wearing. The brand is confusing, as they claim "up to 12 hours."
The majority of the shades I tested were pigmented--semi-opaque to opaque--with the matte finish having the most variance. The lighter matte shades tended to be thinner, more powdery, and sheerer as a result of those texture differences. The more satin-to-pearl shimmer shades tended to be thinner, too, and they sometimes applied more unevenly or had to be built up. The higher-sheen shimmer shades tended to be pigmented, lightly creamy, and blendable with good adhesion.
They wore between eight and nine hours on average, which is solid wear time but similar to a lot of other powder eyeshadows for me, so it wasn't extra long-wearing in context.
In comparison to the last iteration of the brand's eyeshadow formula, it did not feel vastly different. The mattes seemed a little thinner and a touch more powdery, while the shimmers were a touch thicker on average with some of the more pearl-like finishes having weaker coverage and felt too firmly-pressed into the pan and looked thinner on, so they weren't as flattering to wear.

Ember
Urban Decay Ember 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep bronze with subtle, cooler undertones and warmer, more copper-hued shimmer that gave an intense, high-shine finish. It felt almost cream-like in the pan, as it was incredibly smooth and emollient but not too thick, so it picked up well with a dry brush and had excellent adhesion.
It was consistent with its original release in color and performance. The eyeshadow had opaque color coverage that stayed on well for eight and a half hours before creasing slightly.

Introvert
Urban Decay Introvert 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a light, pinky-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage that was buildable to semi-opaque coverage with a second layer, but it needed an eyeshadow primer underneath to get to full coverage.
The texture was thinner, slightly powdery, and this seemed to result in sheerer, less-even coverage. It lasted for seven hours before fading a bit.

Bad Seed
Urban Decay Bad Seed 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium pink with warmer undertones and cooler pink micro-sparkle. The texture was thicker and felt like it had too much silicone in it, which made it apply unevenly and more prone to emphasizing lid texture.
It had semi-opaque coverage, which was only buildable if applied with a dampened brush. There were signs of fading present after eight hours of wear.

Floored
Urban Decay Floored 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark red with warmer, more coppery undertones and a bright, metallic sheen. It had rich color coverage in a single layer, which adhered well to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges.
The consistency felt lightly creamy, dense but not too thick or too thin, and was easy to work with. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Ember and Floored are gorgeous shades!
A very mixed bag quality wise – which shows the state of UD at the moment. The shade was truly lovely for me is Ember – a perfect shimmery brown. Floored was lovely too.
I love Ember. I loved it from the moment you showed it, Christine, so I’m delighted it scored so well. I love it so much I’ve added it to my shopping list even though I have an almost embarrassing 8 (yes, EIGHT!!!) dupes. It’s just “different” enough from Thunderbird that I think I really should buy it, shouldn’t I?
How often do you use Thunderbird? 😉
In “normal” times (pre-Covid and pre-masks) I used it a fair bit in autumn/winter; lately, not so much. I think if these new UD shadows were designed for easy “depotting”, I’d get it for sure but it seems to be so good that I might just get it anyway.
Ember is that perfect chocolate brown metallic that doesn’t run too red or too golden. I do have Buxom Bronzed Bod, but I swear it’s quite a bit redder on me, so I probably will get Ember.
Ok I just can’t get behind the new packaging! I think it’s just so ugly! It looks cheap to me! I didn’t like their previous one either but the clear plastic isn’t doing it for me! I guess I’m a packaging snob LOL
I was interested in Bad Seed, but C is disappointing
