Urban Decay Bang Afterglow 8-Hour Blush ($26.00 for 0.23 oz.) is described as a “bright red-orange.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark orange with warm, red undertones and a very subtle golden satin sheen. ColourPop Tonic (P, $8.00) is lighter, less red, cream. Guerlain Petrouchka #9 (LE) is lighter. YSL Corail Affranchi (07) (P, $40.00) is lighter, cream. Urban Decay Slowburn (P) is redder, darker. Make Up For Ever #515 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is more orange, cream. theBalm Swiss Dot (P, $22.00) is lighter, more muted. Maybelline Coral Burst (LE, $5.99) is more shimmery. NYX Cinnamon (P, $5.00) is similar. NARS Exhibit A (P, $30.00) is redder. MAC Optimistic Orange (LE, $21.00) is a cream product. Chanel Frivole (P, $45.00) is lighter, less red. This particular shade is one of the deeper, brighter, and more intensely pigmented ones out of the twelve-deep line-up. It had more semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation, which remained blendable, so you can apply less or blend down for sheerer color, but I wouldn’t consider it sheer coverage. The brand’s positioned the formulas a both sheer and buildable, so the richer pigmentation may be good or bad, depending on what you were looking for, but this is a shade that will work really well across skin tones as it is vibrant and pigmented enough to show up across the spectrum. It had a really lovely finish that was not quite matte but not quite satin; the more it was buffed and worked into the skin, the more luminous the finish became. On me, it actually ended up wearing nine hours, which is better than advertised.

Such a gorgeous shade! I think UD nailed the color, this will flatter many skintones. Might put on my buy list. Oh, and that Liar lipgloss looks lovely on you.

I love how many shades there are in this range for darker skin tones. Paler people like myself can always sheer something out but it’s impossible to make a pale blush work on dark skin. Way to go, UD!

I love how blendable these darker, more intense shades look. That is so so important for someone with fair skin like me! I have so many beautiful vibrant blushes that I never wear just because they are a PITA to apply and blend!

I wish I didn’t have so many blushes, these blushes are awesome and they look beautiful on you Christine. The eyeshadows I’m going to pass on except toxic but I’ve got to pick up a few of these blushes anyway. LOL

It looks beautiful on you. I have some orange blushes from Sleek, though, so I’ll probably pass on this one. I’m glad they included it in the collection, though.

Warm-toned blushes, let alone orange blushes, usually look really strange on me, but this is one seriously gorgeous blush! I’m going to have to at least try it in-store once it becomes available 🙂 you never know what might work unless you try it — that’s my philosophy when it comes to makeup, at least!

Christine, do you have a opinion about how this color Bang in this UD formula compares to the Bang color in UD’s since discontinued cream/gel formula? I loved the color of that cream/gel blush, but it broke on me and I haven’t been able to replace it.
