Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look from the week: it’s been such a nutty week that I honestly don’t know
Your most used product this week: Smashbox Minimalist palette (that thing is a life-saver when I’m in a rush or just can’t think about what to put with what)
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): it’s an old one – don’t get your hopes up when Sephora’s site says that a certain product is available at a certain “bricks and mortar” Sephora location. I know this of old but was hoping that the Amrezy highlighter would be available – more fool me for getting all excited (there’s a childish, tantrum-y part of me that wants to whine “but your SITE says YOU HAVE it so you HAVE to GET IT FOR ME NOW!!!!!” Looking at the dupes for Amrezy, I see that TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer is very close and I do have that. So I was happy to trot off to Shoppers Drug Mart and finally try the Milani Afterglow highlighter, which probably suits me better in any case!

I placed a ColourPop order about a week ago and then kind of stopped looking or caring about makeup and am just now forcing myself to re-engage following my sister’s passing. I see that I missed some winners from ColourPop that are in my preferred shades. Might have to place another order. I really love the look and sound of Earthshine.

Of course, completely forgot to answer the actual survey!!

Skin tone: Very fair with neutral to cool undertones.

Favorite look this week: I haven’t worn much makeup the past couple of weeks but did make the effort yesterday and today. I prefer the look I did today. I used Thrive Causemetics CC Cream or maybe a BB, can’t remember, in the lightest shade. For blush I used the peachier shade in a three shade palette I got from Etude House via YesStyle. The eyes were a combination of a neutral brown from the Pony Effects Glam E/S palette and the more coral shades from the ABH Norvina palette. For my lips I used Charlotte Tilbury Walk of Shame. Overall, I liked how it came out. Oh, I tried the Thrive mascara again. I have had it for a while but after using it a couple of times I stopped because I didn’t feel like it was giving me anything that my other mascara’s weren’t and I thought it was giving me raccoon eyes. I tried it again this week and have been enjoying it. I do have to build it up a lot to get the volume I want, though.

Favorite product this week: It is actually a skin care product. I am really loving the two products I purchased during the first Sephora sale, the Blithe Tundra Chaga and the Essence. They have been making my skin feel so soft and my base makeup apply so smoothly. For coloured products I am really enjoying the Axiology lippies that I purchased.

New beauty discoveries: Nothing this week.

Thank you, Lesley. It was a bit of a shock as although she has been declining with early onset dementia, I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. Regardless, you can never prepare for the death of a loved one. Never a good time to lose someone but around the holidays is hard, especially for her children and grandchildren.

Thank you, Genevieve. It will be hard but we will get through it. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday and that it isn’t too warm yet. I know last year CeeBee told me they often spend the holiday at the beach and have a barbeque for dinner. She is in New Zealand. Hard for us up here in the northern hemisphere to imagine as even when I lived in California and it was warm enough to go to the beach, we somehow never did. It is all what you are use to, I guess. I hope your family have a healthy and happy new year.

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair neutral, preferring cool
Favorite look from the week: The one I did today – a flawless base and then a simply done face. I forgot primer. Used Milk Flex concealer in Fair underneath my Catrice HD Foundation. Set barely with LM Translucent powder. I bought the Sephora Favorites kit that was on sale, and it had the Bobbi Brown bronzing powder. I found it gave me enough of a face shape that I really enjoyed. I also used it in my crease. Added a bit of charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Blush, which I’m still on the fence about. Lips were MUFE completely sepia pencil and Armani Rouge in 02, which I’m liking.
Your most used product this week: MUFE Completely Sepira & Glossier clear gloss
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): I purcahsed Acne Assassin from Surreal Skincare and I’ve noticed such a nice change in my skin. I feel as if nothing was touching my texture, which was causing me to avoid my much loved face products.

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

Favorite look from the week: As it’s summer here, I am favouring blue/green eyeshadows with touches of taupe and/or mint shades. Lots of use out of Dior’s Bonne Etoile, Bareminerals Wild Thing and Lorac’s Pro Metals. My favourite lipstick shade has been Ginger Spice by EA.

Your most used product this week: La Roche Posay’s Sunscreen, L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation in Ivory Rose and all my stapes.

Any beauty discoveries (new or old): I guess the beauty discoveries of old include Dior’s Bonne Etoile – those mint and teal shades are heavenly.
