Too Faced Neptune Eyeshadow

Too Faced Neptune Eyeshadow ($16.00 for 0.08 oz.) is described as “aqua.” It’s a green-teal with subtle yellow undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. Buxom Saint Bernard is greener. MAC Shimmermoss is similar but has a more frosted finish. Urban Decay Minx is very similar but has a bit of sparkle/glitter. Giorgio Armani Ecailles is similar but less vibrant.

Too Faced markets their formula as crease-resistant with soft, blendable textures and rich color.  Neptune has a soft, fairly dense and buttery texture with good color payoff.  It’s very slightly powdery, but it does press and smooth down nicely with little pressure.  When I wore it on the lid, it managed eight hours without creasing or fading.  I was both surprised and rather impressed!  Fans of softer, more buttery formulas (think theBalm, Urban Decay) will likely enjoy Too Faced’s as well. Each eyeshadow is packaged in a glossy black plastic case with a clear inner circle on the top.

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Interesting shade – Too Faced cosmetics are a little harder to come by here in the UK so I’m glad to see you reviewing them again Christine! The review is very helpful. By any chance will you be reviewing their Exotic Colour Eyeshadows? I’m not sure if the post has been edited since the previous comments but I can definitely see the Glossover and the “A” grade.

Oh wow, I can’t remember ever seeing a Too Faced product on Temptalia! Thanks for the review, Christine! It’s always great to see a little variety.

Christine, will you be doing a look with this shadow? It does look a bit like Birds & Berries which I love but I’d love to see what look you might come up with for this shadow.

@annedreshfield Ha!  I didn’t read the rest of the comments before I posted and we’ve posted pretty much the same thought..  I looked at the pictures in the pan and thought ‘meh’ and then scrolled down and thought  ‘wait a second..that’s lovely’!

Are these on their way out or something?  In the local chain that carries Kit here (Australia) the only single eyeshadows they sell are the new ones in the flower-shaped compacts! : /

I was really happy to see a review for a Too Faced product; I would love to see more, as it’s a line I’m often tempted by. Three times, I’ve almost bought the Galaxy Glam eyeshadow in Moonbeam with its gorgeous meteor-like swirls and colour. But I always hesitate because it’s a baked shadow and I’ve heard some mixed things about their eyeshadows (when it comes to the palettes). Anyway, I’ve actually looked at this teal single quite a bit at Macy’s; it really is pretty and I’m impressed by its intensity. Given this review, I think I may pick it up at some point.
